Melissa is one of the best! This was the first time that I left my 3 pups, and Melissa was so comforting to them while I was away. I have a pup that is very anxious and she warmed right up to Melissa. This was house sitting and the house was immaculate when I arrived home. Honestly, there arent enough words to express my appreciation. Thank youso much, Melissa! I will, without a doubt, have you sit for my pups again and again.

About: I will care for your pet like it's my own. I have worked in vet office for my first job, many moons ago but never list the love for animals. And always have had pets growing up and still do to this day. I can come to your house or you can bring them to me or I can pick them up if your running late. Very flexible schedule. Have animal toys treats and crate if needed for your pet. Also have a runner for dogs to go outside. But can and will walk animal if needed or they want to go and look around town. Can supply food if animal isn't picky with bowls as well. So just trust me, I can do this.

Kateri was great and we hope to use her again. She stayed at our house to care for our cat and dog. She was a respectful house guest and gave us lots of updates on how they were doing. I really appreciated her patience with our cat and that she took our dog on some adventures!

This is a very late review, but Meghan is absolutely amazing!! We had a relatively last-minute booking for our two pups and were looking for someone to stay with them for a few days. Meghan was responsive, easy to work with, and made sure we/they had a chance to meet her before she stayed with them. The home visit went great, and our two (picky) dogs loved her. As an added bonus, my kids also loved her and tried to convince me that I should stay home with the dogs, and she should go with them on the trip! Meghan was understanding of our dog's needs/idiosyncrasies and knew the right questions to ask to ensure it was a positive experience for everyone. When circumstances changed and we had another pup unexpectedly added to the mix, she was accommodating and understanding. I cannot recommend Meghan enough and will definitely be reaching out to her for our next trip!

About: I have had fur babies my whole life! I currently have an 18 month old pitbull/mastiff mix named Rocco and a 3 year old black cat named Salem. I have experience with cats and dogs of many different breeds such as; Pitbulls, Chihuahuas, Beagles, Labs, Minpins, Dobermans, and retrievers. I also have experience with raising chickens, water fowl, and goats! I am not working at this time, so I am available all through out the day. I am able to work around your daily routines. I am unable to provide boarding services at my apartment because it is too small. However, I am able to come to your home and provide walking services. As well as company for your pet. If allowed, I would bring them to the dog park to get in some good runs.

We were kept up to date on a regular basis with pics!! This made for a stress free weekend and allowing us to enjoy the wedding out of town! Highly recommend!!

About: *PRIVATELY INSURED✅ *CPR CERTIFIED/FIRST AID TRAINED 🩹 ***Please be sure to look through my entire profile, photo album and reviews before reaching out, thank you!*** Growing up in a small town in Vermont, where there were more cows than people, I developed a passion for all animals early on. I spent my summers in high school working with horses before working at my first dog daycare and haven’t stopped working with dogs since! Over the last decade, I have worked at well-regarded animal care companies in Vermont and around the Boston area and recently transitioned from a top-rated dog training/off leash hiking company to providing private, full-time dog care services. Fun facts about me: •I love sharks ◡̈ •I went to school for Graphic Design Serving Middlebury and adjacent communities, my mission revolves around the care and enrichment of my furry friends so I will be with your pup at all times! As someone who has worked with countless animals with many different personalities, making each one feel safe and welcome is most important to me. It is my job to create a clean, safe and fun environment. Your dog will have access to my fully fenced in private back yard with my supervision throughout their stay! I understand that every animal has different needs and desires and I will do everything to make sure your furry family member is comfortable!

About: Relationship with animals has always been a passion of mine. I started grooming dogs with my grandmother at the age of 10, but was her assistant long before I earned the title. It brings me joy and fulfillment to care for pups and cats alike, while creating an environment where they (and you) can feel safe and earn my trust in the process. As a part time bartender at Pascolo Restaurant in Downtown Burlington, it would fit into my schedule to walk dogs in the morning, afternoon and early evening as well as weekends. There is a lot of freedom to work around your schedule :) In my home, I live off of Main Street in Vergennes and can provide safe walking around town as well as some of the trails near by. In your home, I am quick to adapt to whatever will make you most comfortable!

About: I have been working with animals for the last ten years. Started working in dog daycares and moved my way up to vet medicine where i now am a vet technician. I am patient and understanding to all pets personalities and ages. I am currently working 3 days a week on a specialty service at a veterinary hospital. My weekends are typically free and I would love to fill the time with your furry loved ones. Will be very respectful of your home and make giving your sweet boy or girl my devoted attention. Back yard fence in play is great but leash walks are also great!

Jess watched our dog and cat for the first time over the weekend. She let us know when she arrived and sent a photo. She was responsive to our texts so we felt comfortable being away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Crown Point

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 57 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crown Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crown Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crown Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crown Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
