About: I love pets. I have owned a dog my whole life. On top of owning a dog I also would dog sit for neighbors in my neighborhood. I start dog sitting around the age of 12. I have dog sat puppies who needed to go out a lot as well as play with them a lot to get energy out. I also have watched elderly dogs. I have no problem cleaning up dog messes that can happen in the house. I have dealt with a wide variety of dog fluid due to my own dog. I am one who will get there hands dirty. I also love playing with pets and getting on the floor to get their energy out. I have a dog of my own. I make sure to get her outside multiple times a day as well as getting a walk in once a day. During the week I take my dog to the dog park to get interactions with other dogs. I am a stay at home mom who has a very flexible schedule. I have experience with excited dogs who love seeing new people or just getting out to walk. I make sure when walking dogs to give them time to explore while still keeping them safe. When walking if other people or dogs walk past i make sure the dog I am walking is by my side opposite of those walking past for safety.

About: I have taken care of many dogs through out my years from small chihuahuas to Great Pyrenees. I currently own a German Shepherd, Blue Heeler and two Great Pyrenees that I love with all my heart. I have experience with many breeds and also with training dogs. I can potty train them and teach them a few discipline skills like sit and stays and also teach them funny tricks. I have always loved animals and I want to use this opportunity to experience more with animals as a future veterinarian. I believe becoming a dog sitter will help me have more experience with getting to know different dogs. I honestly believe this will be a fun experience to meet new people and their beloved pets.

About: With over 15 years of experience fostering for various rescues and organizations, our family knows exactly what it takes to make every pup feel safe, happy, and loved. My two boys and I adore dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages—from energetic puppies to gentle senior dogs. Because of our deep rescue background, we’re well-versed in handling different temperaments, sticking to unique routines, and giving dogs the individual care they need to thrive. When your dog stays with us, they aren't just guest pets; they become part of our family. They’ll enjoy plenty of playtime, cozy cuddle sessions, structured routines, and nonstop attention in a warm, dog-loving home. You can travel stress-free knowing your pup is in experienced, affectionate hands, complete with daily photo updates and peace-of-mind check-ins! Caring for pets isn't just something we do—it’s an integral part of who we are as a family. We absolutely adore animals, and opening our hearts and home to support other families when they need a hand brings so much joy to our household. Whether we're giving a dog their daily dose of playtime or comforting a cat in their favorite spot, helping local pet parents care for their beloved companions enriches our lives as much as it does theirs. When pets stay in our home, they truly become a part of our family. We honor their regular routines to keep them feeling safe and comfortable, feeding them exactly as you would at home—whether that means strict mealtimes, special diets, or fun puzzle feeders. Our days are packed with engaging playtime, cozy cuddle sessions, and all the "fill-in family" warmth they need to never feel lonely while you're away. Above all, we believe every guest deserves to be spoiled rotten with extra love, undivided attention, and all the comfort of home!

About: I am a college student who loves all animals! I am studying biology with the end goal of becoming a veterinarian. I work as a dog groomer and have previous experience working at a vets office. I like to visit the dogs I watch two to three times a day at the owners home as keeping them in an environment they are familiar reduces stress I have found. I also walk them in the mornings and evenings and love to play with them. I personally don't have a dog as I am a college student so when I get to take care of other peoples animals I treat them as if they were my own ❤️ I have a guinea pig named Gracie whom my friends say is the most spoiled guinea pig in the world :) and I am also an avid fish owner currently I have a South American Flowerhorn Cichlid named Oscar The Grouch, Four African Cichlids, a Blood Parrot and a Jack Dempsey. I have 16 year experience pet sitting and babysitting and feel comfortable watching a variety of animals . Why I love dog sitting All my life I have loved all sorts of animals including dogs. I personally don't own a dog as I'm a college student and don't feel it would be fair to them at this time, so I just love on everyone else's. I have alot of animal experience from working at a vets office to being a dog groomer.

She completed the visit on time. Her initial communication about my dog’s behavior caught me off guard, as it suggested aggression I had not seen before. After talking it through and reviewing camera footage together, we both agreed it was normal large puppy play behavior and we talked through commands she could use if she wasn't comfortable with the way he was playing. Since then, Joanne has watched Onyx again and it was a much better experience! Joanne has been great—very communicative and professional.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Crandall stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crandall. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
