About: For more than 20 years, our life has been rooted in service and travel — first as a retired military family, and later as mission workers serving orphaned youth in the Dominican Republic. Through those experiences, home became especially meaningful to me. Some of the greatest joy in my life has come from raising my children, caring for our animals, and tending to our small homestead. Now that we are happily settled in Naples for good and my children are getting older, I have the opportunity to devote more time to caring for the homes and animals of others with the same love and attention I give my own. I am a homesteading and homeschooling Mom with older children, so my day is flexible with notice. I can do drop in visits to your home within a reasonable distance or stay over night keeping your pets comfortable in their own home as well. Because of the number of animals we already have on our little homestead, I’m only able to offer care for your fur-baby in your home.

About: My experience with animals started in middle school when I began caring for two elderly Shih Tzus. From there, I started dog sitting for families around Goodland throughout my high school years, simply because of my genuine love for animals. Over time, I expanded my experience by fostering dogs for the Cleveland County Animal Shelter in North Carolina, where I’ve cared for multiple breeds with different personalities, needs, and energy levels. This was something I truly enjoyed and did on my days off from practice as I am a Division 1 NCAA athlete, which can be proof to my dedication and abilities at time management and multi-tasking! As a Division 1 athlete, staying active and keeping in shape is already a big part of my lifestyle, so I love opportunities that allow me to exercise while caring for animals through walks, playtime, and staying engaged with them throughout the day. Pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy, and it’s a great balance alongside my training and schedule. My goals to make your animal feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I dealt with mainly rescues from the Cleveland county shelter and found a passion for making trust with animals. In a client’s home, I try to keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions provided by the owner. I pay close attention to behavior, cleanliness, and safety at all times to make sure pets are happy and stress-free. I also understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet and home, so I always aim to be dependable, respectful, and communicative throughout the stay.

About: Hello! I’m Kelby, a lifelong dog and cat lover with years of experience caring for pets of all sizes and personalities. I’ve grown up with animals my whole life, and today I share my home with a Chihuahua, a Labrador, a cat, and three family cats. My pet care journey started in childhood walking neighbors’ dogs, helping friends with their pets, and pet sitting whenever someone needed a hand. By 18, I enrolled in Animal Behavior College and turned that my passion into a profession, becoming an ABCDT-certified trainer and pet care provider. I’ve now worked professionally with dogs and cats for over four years, and I especially love helping anxious, fearful, or reactive pets feel safe and understood. “Erin is the most amazing soul I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I had a different rover sitter scheduled weeks in advance that was supposed to stay in my house with my 2 frenchies while I went back to MD to visit with family. The night before my flight I received a message from the sitter saying he could not make it & the booking was cancelled, needless to say I was panicking trying to find someone last minute. It turns out that was the biggest blessing because Erin saved my entire trip! She is so wonderful! She was willing to stop by my house an hour after contacting her so I could show her where everything was and so she could meet Loki and Diesel. She treated my frenchies as if they were her own! She sent me updates, videos and pictures multiple times a day! I always worry about someone watching my dogs because I have one frenchie who is jealous and shows aggression towards my other frenchie. That did not deter Erin, she accepted the challenge and navigated everything with patience and grace! I feel so lucky that the initial rover sitter canceled less than 12 hours before my scheduled flight because it lead me to Erin!”

Currently, my availability is limited to the evenings and weekends :) Some of my background… I began pet sitting in my own home as a child, where I learned the basics of animal care and behavior through my dog, two cats, and tortoise. My care experience became more comprehensive as they reached old age which translated well as I began looking after the pets of friends and neighbors by walking, feeding, medicating, and of course giving their animals lots of attention while they were away. As my professional career shifted toward wildlife research and handling, my experience in animal care increased significantly. I spent eight months out of this past year working as a pet care tech at a cage-free doggy day care and boarding facility, where I handled all different sizes, ages, and demeanors of dogs in groups of 10-25 animals. I became very effective in evaluating dog behavior in order to mitigate negative interactions in the groups and monitor any changes in their health while they were under my care. On top of this, I spent time bathing, trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing, feeding, and playing with dogs every single day. Furthermore, I took extra steps to provide notes on each dog’s health, behavior, and their playmates while they were under my supervision so that the owners knew what their dog was up to while they were away! This extra effort earned me the first employee of the month designation the company has awarded in many years. I left this position when I accepted a role at a national park, but I would love to dive back into the pet care world and visit your furry friends! I am comfortable caring for pets of all ages and I will see to their medical and behavioral needs as directed by you-the owner! I love to focus on reducing anxiety and energy levels through the activity most suited to the pet whether that be playing with a particular toy, training, or going on a walk.
