Can't say enough about these wonderful people who welcomed our fur-baby into their home. Bernie instantly took to Kirsten and her very host savvy pups. So fortunate to have found them and so close to where we live. Kirsten kept me up to date on Bernie's activities and sent photos of our very happy pup. He had a blast running in their fenced in yard and there were comfy places to get some rest. Bernie is excited to head back to Camp K in May and spend a week with his new buddies!! We are comforted knowing he will be so loved and cared for. We highly recommend Kirsten and Mark!

Top tier Dog Sitter. I was in a bind and she was able to help me out even though it was last minute. Can’t say thank you enough for everything. My pup had a great time to the point where he was sad to leave her house. She did an excellent job taking care of Tucker and she also did a great job with his grooming. Definitely will be using her again. Thank you, Jeremy

Nicole was a lifesaver! After getting over booked at a kennel during Cooperstown Baseball season, she came to my rescue. Great communication, flexible, easy to work with, updated me with pictures and she even trimmed my puppy nails. Highly recommend her.

Vanessa took great care of our Lady, a 6 month old berner pup. She worked with her on tricks and socializing with the other dogs while allowing her to play outside in the snow and taking really good care of her. Would love to have her dog sit for us again and Lady would agree

About: I have been around animals my entire life and have cared for my own pets since I was young. Over the years, I have owned and cared for many different types of animals, including Pit Bulls, Yorkshire Terriers, German Shepherds, Bulldogs, Shar-Peis, mixed-breed dogs, cats and kittens, turtles, rabbits, and chickens. Through this experience, I have learned how to understand different temperaments, provide daily care, maintain feeding schedules, exercise pets, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I am patient, responsible, and genuinely love animals. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I am committed to treating them with the same care and attention that I give my own pets. I currently have a very flexible schedule because I am on summer break from university. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and I can often accommodate different schedules, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. I understand the importance of consistency in a pet's routine and will do my best to meet their specific needs. I live in a pet-friendly home with no other pets, which allows me to provide focused attention and a calm environment. My home has a living area, kitchen, bathroom, and multiple rooms, giving pets space to relax and feel comfortable. While there is not a fenced yard, there is plenty of outdoor space nearby for leashed walks, and a park is located close to my home for additional exercise and enrichment. When caring for pets, I prioritize safety, follow the owner's instructions carefully, maintain regular feeding and potty schedules, and make sure pets always feel secure, comfortable, and well cared for.

I am so sorry this is so delayed! I had a lot of life catch up after our vacaction, which was completely relaxing becasue I had zero concerns with the well being of my dog because Melissa was AMAZING. She was super welcoming and understanding that it was our first time leaving our pup and using Rover! She is super professional and caring and took care of everything (she had a crate for us!) She has love for dogs and I would absolutely recommend her and have our pup stay again! The best.

Sue was the absolute best! We had a very unique situation where we really wanted our dog, Maui, to be a part of our wedding day and weren’t from the area so we were unsure how to find someone that could pick him up from the venue while we were getting married and board him overnight. Sue went above and beyond to pick him up and board him. Sue also kept us updated with how Maui was doing and he had a great time playing with her cockapoo Ninny! Highly recommend Sue to anyone in need of dog boarding!

I was very pleased how my fur family was taken care of, (he definitely goes above and beyond for your babies) I would definitely recommend him as well as use his services again in the future.

As of July 2026, there are 37 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Cooperstown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cooperstown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cooperstown.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Cooperstown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
