8. Jessie M.
About: I have always lived my life by dogs. I was raised by a Saint Bernard who, having recently had a litter of puppies before we took her home, adopted me as her own puppy. Our lab-hound mix grew up with me and became my soulmate over the years, and I had a puppy of my own since I was ten years old. She was my whole heart and soul, my lifeline, for fifteen wonderful years. While I do not have much official pet care experience, there is nothing more natural to me than taking care of an animal. Any opportunity to spend time near animals is welcome. I did pet sitting for dogs and cats a few times as a kid, volunteered at a shelter walking dogs and at a riding center in college to be near the horses, and have been working in habitat restoration for eight years, with occasional calls about injured wildlife. I have handled wild birds, as well as pet snakes, lizards, and turtles. I also have care experience working in an assisted living home. I can provide dog walking, drop-in visits, or house-sitting. I can bathe or groom your pets if desired or administer any pills, drops, or medical needs that may need to be provided at home. I have often been in charge of pill regiments for our animals and have administered fluids before. If you are concerned about or your dog is prone to bacterial and/or fungal infections, I can wash their paws with an anti-fungal shampoo after walks. If you would like more than a walk around the block, I can take your pet to a park or bring my own dog to visit for socialization. I can also work on basic commands if desired. I can text you updates and pet photos of our time together and will not hesitate to contact you and get your pet veterinary care in case of an emergency. I work seasonal field jobs and am currently between jobs. I can tend to your pets at any time, any day of the week. Will update as employment changes. MLK Weekend: I have a booking for two drop-in visits per day, no set time yet. Open to additional requests, depending on scheduling. When I am with your animals in their home, my ultimate goal is to make sure they are safe and comfortable. I will give them all the affection they can possibly desire, or any space that they need to grow accustomed to my presence and to build a trust. I will be careful when entering and exiting your home to ensure your pets do not get out. All doors, locks, fences, leashes and collars will be checked to ensure no unexpected escapes. Any specific care and precautions will be entirely based on you, your pets, and your home.
