“Our puppy has separation anxiety from her home so we can’t board her anymore. We tried Rover for the 1st time with Andy when we came home from vacation Saddie was just fine, you could tell she was very well taken care of. Andy sent pictures every day which was very helpful. We will definitely have Andy watch her on our next vacation.”

“Heather took great care of our kitties with daily drop-in visits while we were on vacation. She not only made sure they were ok, fed, watered and cleaned the litter daily, but engaged them to play. She sent pictures each day and gave us a great peace of mind that they were well cared for while we were gone. Will definitely contact her again to take care of our furry babies.”
About: I’ve taken care of anywhere from dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, chickens of all ages throughout my whole life. I have a passion for making sure animals are happy and well taken care of with a calm demeanor. I am available Monday-Friday during work hours and may have some flexibility outside that as well. Saturdays and Sundays some availability depending on the weekend or need. In other clients homes I will make sure to learn every space to become familiar with where the animal(s) are most comfortable. I will also utilize leashes and/or any other equipment necessary.
“Thank you, Cathy, for watching my cats! I appreciated your messages sharing about them and their meals. I also appreciate you helping out with the garbage cans! You gave me such a peace of mind. :-)”

“We're thrilled to have found Faith. She was extremely reliable and attentive. She followed all the directions I left to a "T" and even notified me that our cat's meds were running low. Many visits were even longer than she was required. She seemed to genuinely enjoy spending time with our cat and played with him and gave him lots of attention which he so likes when we're gone. We will definitely be hiring Faith again and highly recommend her services.”

About: Thanks for stopping by my profile! I'm a public school teacher and a dog mum. I've also cared for cats and turtles. I'm available evening times to check in on your pet and go for a walk or just give some attention. I have a little pomeranian female, age 13, accompanies me just about everywhere, and she likes making friends. As a busy professional, I understand that it is important to have someone trustworthy come and check in on your pet. As a teacher, I've already been vetted by the state of Wisconsin for a background check. I'm available Monday through Wednesday, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. I also understand that schedules can change, for this reason, I am extremely flexible in this matter. I have availability to come and take your pet out for a walk, give a snuggle, other attention as needed or just check on things.
About: I've had a love/passion for dogs since I was born into this life. Growing up, I've always had a dog in the house, so it easily became the norm for me. I have experience with a wide variety of breeds, including doberman, pitbulls, great dane, labs, boxers, beagles, and mutts. I truly love them all. I'm open to taking care of all breeds. I don't discriminate! One thing I will note is that I specialize in high energy/working dogs and am very familiar with larger breeds. Just to give you a quick example, I raised a Doberman from a puppy which led to me learning A LOT throughout the process. Doberman are a working breed and require plenty of mental and physical stimulation & I think I cracked the code! I’ve developed a deep understanding of what high-energy dogs need to thrive. I'm good at stimulating their minds, keeping them active and most importantly, happy. I'm not a certified dog trainer, but I do understand the importance of balancing their physical and mental well-being, and I'm dedicated to ensuring each dog has a great time with me! I'm very engaging and mindful, so whatever your dog may need, whether it's staying active outside or relaxing at home, I will do my best to provide. That's a promise. When it comes to availability, I am free at the moment. You can contact me any time and I will get back to you asap. I will make sure you feel comfortable with leaving your pets with me. To ensure you of this, I will send you daily photos & videos to show you how good of a time they're having! Also, you can give me a call ANYTIME. I know what it's like to drop my dogs off at a pet sitter's house, so my job is to give you the relief of knowing that your pets are in great hands. I can guarantee you this🙂

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with a wide range of pets, especially rescue dogs and senior animals. I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies to older pets with mobility or medical needs, and I understand that each animal requires a unique kind of love and attention. I’m patient, observant, and gentle — especially with shy or anxious pets. While I don’t have a pet right now (just got married and moved so it's been a crazy few months), I miss that connection and would love to help others care for their furry family members. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work a pretty flexible schedule so that leaves me with lots of flexibility for pet care! I always prioritize safety, trust, and respect when caring for pets and their homes. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I ensure a clean, calm, and secure environment where your pet feels comfortable and loved. Heather took great care of our kitties with daily drop-in visits while we were on vacation. She not only made sure they were ok, fed, watered and cleaned the litter daily, but engaged them to play. She sent pictures each day and gave us a great peace of mind that they were well cared for while we were gone. Will definitely contact her again to take care of our furry babies.
Heather was the perfect choice for daily drop-in visits to check in on our 2 kitties while on vacation for the week. She not only took care of the basics (food, water and litter cleaning), but provided some playtime and engagement each day. We received numerous pictures each visit and she provided a great peace of mind that they were in good hand while we were away. It’s obvious she’s a huge animal lover. Will definitely contact her again for our next vacation.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
