answered a question Where do I find the required app for day care?

To fill out a Report Card for your daycare clients, you can use the form below to have the app sent to your phone for download. You client doesn't need to have the app to see your report card - they can still just use the mobile site or a regular computer. https://www.rover.com/app/

commented answer Shouldn't I first meet with the stranger I'm hiring to house-sit my pet?

I am not sure what your side looks like as a client, but are you able to click her name in your message thread to see her profile (from a computer/mobile site, not the app)?

commented answer Shouldn't I first meet with the stranger I'm hiring to house-sit my pet?

I wouldn't worry about the request expiring, usually you'll wait to confirm/pay after the meeting. You could try googling her first name, the city you live in, and rover like "Hillary Dallas,TX Rover.com" and see if she pops up.

answered a question Shouldn't I first meet with the stranger I'm hiring to house-sit my pet?

Hi David! Rover does require all sitters to complete a background check - you should be able to see a badge for passing their background check on your sitter's profile (it's a blue circle with a little shield and check mark on it) on the left side of the page. It is recommended that you set up a Meet & Greet with the sitter prior to the stay beginning, so that you can meet and ensure that this will be the right fit for both parties. Usually this would be when you give them the keys, too.

answered a question Does the pet owner get notified to leave a review?

From the Rover Blog: "We send three separate emails to pet owners, asking them to write a review. We send pet owners a text notification to remind them to review the stay. We give pet owners the capability to write a review on the app." They can also review you from the regular website. Like Walt mentioned, clients don't always review even with the prompting from Rover. Personally, I don't ask for reviews just because I know they get notified to do so by Rover. That said, I don't think it's a bad idea to send them a follow up message asking for a review so that you can continue to improve your profile!

commented answer How do I update my profile discription ?

Using the mobile site on an iPhone, click the menu button at the top right corner (three lines). Then select Profile. Scroll down to the box titled Sitter Profile and select Details. Here, you can edit your description.

answered a question what does one treat mean next to my name?

From the Q&A Community FAQ section: How does voting work? When a question or answer is upvoted, the user who posted it will gain points, which are called Treats. These points serve as a rough measure of the community trust in that user. Various moderation tasks are gradually assigned to users based on those points.

answered a question Have you been able to do this full time?

I do! While it was a tough decision for me to make, I am SO happy I did! I used to teach and was doing Rover on the side, but after doing calculations like you mentioned yourself, I decided that I could do this. I have since also started a private business outside of Rover, but it is new, so Rover is still my main source of income currently. The most important thing that I think should be mentioned is regarding taxes - you will want to make sure that you are paying quarterly taxes to avoid receiving a penalty come tax time. I use QuickBooks Self-Employed, which keeps track of my mileage, receipts, income, business expenses, and gives me an estimated tax payment due each quarter. It has been a HUGE help! As for your point about travel time and gas, I narrowed my radius down after I reached a point where I felt comfortable with the number of weekly clients I had. It is currently at 3 miles and I prefer to spend 15 minutes or less in travel time to each client. I only offer drop-ins and walks and my daily goal is similar to yours, I like to do at least 8 every weekday and I typically do 3-5 on Saturdays and Sundays, though I occasionally block off one weekend day. I would make sure you have enough savings to get you through several months of bills in case it takes more time than anticipated to reach your daily goal or doesn't work out. Daily clients are really the best source for predictable, weekly/monthly steady income, so they are what I prefer. I also do WAG walks (a separate app) when needed to fill my schedule, which has been helpful and perhaps you could check it out!

answered a question How do I make payment for a booking?

Gloria - You will likely have better luck with sending your question directly to Rover - they usually respond within a couple of hours here! https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/re...

You could also call their Support for faster assistance at 888-453-7889.

answered a question I have a person requesting pricing for hourly care at their home. How much do I charge & how does it get booked?

Hi Sandy! For an hourly rate, it is really up to you to determine what you're comfortable charging per hour. Personally, my rate is $20 for the initial 30 minute visit, and then $5 per additional 15 minutes afterwards. So, the first hour is $30 and then the following hours are $20 each. It's important to consider what time of day they're wanting you to stay, as that is a large block of time to be unavailable to other clients. I myself do not offer extended/hourly visits between 11:00-3:00, when I am usually booked for midday walks. As for booking the reservation, I just book it as a drop-in visit and adjust the cost manually to the correct total cost. You can leave the Report Card running so that you have a time stamp of when you arrived and left and also to mark any activities that their pet(s) did during that time. Some sitters may offer their house sitting rate and even book it as house sitting, but I don't offer that service myself.

answered a question Why can't I edit a price for a pending house sitting?

Since the client has already confirmed from their side (based on the photo) you will need to click Decline, then you will be able to adjust the cost before confirming again. You are correct that the Edit button will appear next to the Stay Price on the website (or you can adjust it in the top right hand corner from the app). Once you make your adjustments, the client will need to confirm again from their side and you from yours.

answered a question Will my profile follow me to a new city?

Hi Brooklyn! I moved to a new city last May - I changed my address to the new address about a week in advance in order to be open to potential new clients, but blocked off my calendar for the days leading up to my move. Your account/profile will remain the same when you change your address.

commented answer is it OK to extend the length of the dog walk from 30 minutes to one hour?

Yes, if the two Tuesdays are booked together, then you would just put "$20" in the Cost Adjustment field and it will apply to the total cost.

answered a question What boarding Insurance do you guys extra outside of Rover?

You could check out Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. They provide insurance for in-home boarding with a $0 deductible. I use their insurance for my services (walks and drop-ins). You can use the code PETS for a discount for being a Rover sitter, too! Here is the link: http://www.petsitllc.com/
