Bethany did a wonderful job with our dogs. One of our dogs is known to be uppity and Bethany was patient with her. She finally won her over after several days which is quite an accomplishment. Bethany communicated well with pics and video often over the two weeks. We truly appreciate her care and attention to our animals and our home.

Angeles was the perfect sitter for our 180lbs "baby". She was on time and handled all requested studies (meals, etc). It was very clear that she lives her job and that our dog lived having her sit. We would be her again in a flash!

Aubreigh was so great with our dog! She was communicative and kind! Last minute we had a schedule change and she was very flexible. She administered meds for us and left the house just as we did! We will definitely have her back 😊

About: I have experience taking care of animals professionally in a boarding setting and within a vet clinic (as a technician, not a doctor). I have experience handling and caring for more ‘opinionated’ patients/animals. From dogs with stranger danger or ‘spicy’ cats. I have experience caring for diabetic and higher needs animals and particularly am rewarded by caring for older fur babies, cat and dog. I have a deep care for all animals and always want to provide the best care possible. I work from home and am able to bring my work wherever I am, so I can stay with animals who cannot be left alone for long periods of time. I take care to build rapport with animals and respect their communication, going slow and reading body language in order to understand their boundaries and provide the best care possible. I look forward to providing quality and compassionate care to your furry family members. I work from home and can bring my work wherever I am. This allows me to care for animals that need more frequent care/can’t be left alone for too long. I am available for drop ins on the weekends (Friday-Monday) and some weekdays depending on my schedule. I can follow most instructions or requests within reason to keep your pet on their typical routine. I can follow medication routines, feeding routines and care needs such as crating, enrichment and training reinforcement (manners, already taught commands etc). I can clean litter boxes once per day.

About: Hey there! I’ve been taking care of pets for over 5 years now, and I honestly just love it. I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs, energetic puppies to sweet seniors who just want to nap. I’m also super comfortable with dogs that need a little extra help. Whether your pup is disabled, needs medicine, or just needs someone patient to help them get around, I’ve got you covered. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind, so my goal is to make sure they’re happy, safe, and having a good time while you’re gone. With my part-time work schedule, I have plenty of time during the day for long walks, park visits, and playtime. I’m responsible and ready to give your pet the extra care and exercise they need. I’m available most weekends as well. I offer dependable dog walking and drop in visits. I’m great at following routines, and giving your pet the love they need while you’re away. I’m always on time and love sending photo updates!

We highly recommend Phillip and cannot fully express how grateful we are for his excellent care of our pup Bennie. Phillip was truly one of the best sitters we’ve ever had ! We booked for house sitting just a couple weeks ago when we planned to bring both our disabled senior dog Max and Bennie . At the time we asked for help with taking special care of Max, repositioning and taking him out every couple hours during our time at Church Retreat. Sadly Max passed before our trip, Phillip was kind enough to still be willing to hang out with Bennie as we were staying at an Airbnb that normally doesn’t allow pets and had given us permission since we have a sitter and a crate for him. Philip was so thoughtful and kind to our Bennie making sure he felt secure and loved. He kept us informed on how Bennie was doing throughout the 2 days and was even willing to drive 30 min to the church we attended, so that he could hang out with Bennie in a shady spot for a couple hours ! We look forward to booking Phillip the next time we come to PA👏🐶

What a delight it was to have faith watch our four year-old golden retriever! It put me at ease knowing our Doggo was being well cared for. Faith did a wonderful job with communication starting from a meet and greet all the way to letting us know when she was leaving. She went above and beyond with check-ins and photos to washing and remaking the bedbefore she left. We will definitely be using Faith again for our future trips.

After moving to a new town, it was important to us to find a pet sitter we can trust. After searching around town and meeting a few people, Foxy was the obvious choice. Our dog, who is generally afraid and reactive upon first meeting people and dogs, was comfortable with her immediately. She was gentle with him and had a calming/reassuring tone. We were nervous about booking, but she instilled confidence that we could go away without worry. Throughout our trip, she sent pictures and communicated their adventures every day. Where normally when we come home Prince acts like we abandoned him, this time he was just happy to see us. It was like he genuinely had an enjoyable visit with Foxy. She did what she said she would do and more. We will absolutely use her again!

Kay stayed with my sweet Rey for two weeks this summer. Rey loved her and so did I! Kay is super caring, playing with Rey, paying attention to any changes in Rey’s behavior, staying on top of food and medication. She kept me up to date with Rey’s activities and also sent me pictures (which I absolutely adored)! When I returned my house was clean and in order, my plants were cared for, Rey was happy and healthy, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I totally recommend Kay and we’re definitely having her stay with Rey again.

About: I have been around and taken care of different pets since I was young. Often I pet/house sit for family/friends while they are on vacation but I have recently started watching dogs in my own home while the owners are away. I have watched dogs ranging from Cane Corso to Shih Tzu as well as several cats, hamsters and fish. I prefer to pet sit in the owners home so the pets are less stressed but will do everything I can to make them feel comfortable in my own home. I live on 4 acres that are not fenced in so if you or your dog are not okay with that I will make sure they are leashed anytime they are outside. I do have cats but they are in a separate part of the house where your pet will have no access with. I am always open to any questions or suggestions! I work full time typically from Monday to Friday. It’s usually 8-4 but can range from 4am to midnight. I will always let you know ahead of time what my schedule is or if you require something specific I’m willing to try to work something out. I have a lab that is crate trained if your dog is lonely they can go together or be in crates next to each other. The dogs will also never be alone or outside together without supervision. As for your own home I have no issue with pictures/FaceTime or cameras being in the house. I have a law enforcement background and my only concern is to care for your pets and make sure the house is secure when I leave.

FAQs for House Sitting - Collins

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 1,592 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Collins. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Collins walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Collins maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Collins choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Collins. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
