“What a delightful family! Ryan, his wife, 3 kids and menagerie of pets were welcoming-immediately putting us at ease! We received frequent updates and photos while we were gone, which reassured us that our pup was happy and well cared for.”

“Lynana and her family did a great job with taking care of my pomeranian.. I was reluctant with this first stay as he was staying with other big dogs but it turned out to work out very well. Lynana is very experienced and professinal with thought given to what dogs breeds and temperment can be together safely and her house is well laid out for safety. The big dogs were fine and it was a good thing for my smaller dog to get exposure and make big dog friends in a safe environment. My dog loves action and I chose this sitter because she could offer lots of activity for my dog with her children and family. My dog was well played out and super tired for days when I returned. Also I have noticed since my return that my dog is more obediant and super comfortable around children. All in all a great experience! I will return.”

“My little dog loved Katie and her family! They took excellent care of him during the Kentucky Fried Pickin event at the Holiday Inn in Owensboro. We feel very happy now that we have such a high quality place to board our dog during music events in Owensboro. We will definitely be booking with this wonderful family again!”

“Jordan and her husband are the best dog sitters in the world. They even delivered my dogs to my home when I had a car problem. Super thankful with them and with life to have found them. See you next time guys!!!”

About: We have been pet owners for most of our lives. We currently have 2 cavalier King Charles dogs. We have been dog sitting for many years now and we love it. My husband and I are both retired now and have moved to Kentucky and are just starting to use the Rover platform. We stay and play not just let them out and then leave. We believe dogs get lonely too and need some extra attention when their people are away. We have a flexible schedule so we can come over as many times as you like or even spend the night with them. We also can have them come stay with us! Just ask for what you need to make sure you are comfortable knowing your pets are in great care while you can’t be there! My husband and I are both retired and love meeting new pet friends. We have owned dogs all our lives and have owned kitties in the past as well. Our animals are family member and treated as such. We have years of experience pet sitting and would love a chance to meet your fur babies We have a fenced in back yard and 2 doggies who love to play! We also have a nice neighborhood to take walks in too!! Since we are both retired we are home during the day so your babies would get loads of attention and time
“We had such a wonderful experience with Kelsey! She took amazing care of our dog and went above and beyond to keep us updated with frequent photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time. One of the sweetest touches was the personalized “thanks for visiting” card she made, complete with photos of our dog—it was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We truly appreciate the care and attention she put into everything. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Shelley was amazing! She watched our 2 dogs for 5 nights/6 days. Our 15 1/2 year old lab came with special needs which required daily bandages changes for a large ruptured tumor in her leg. Our dogs are bonded and have never been boarded. Our 6 1/2 year old pittie/heeler mix is very cautious with new people. Both our dogs loved Shelley immediately! She never flinched about the ruptured tumor, which is not for the faint of heart. She sent us pictures and updates daily, which was very appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Shelley and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Archie and Sophie says Shelley is a 10 out of 10.”

“I will be rebooking to board my two pups with Amber. She asked many questions when I brought Bear and Zoe over to her house to make sure she understood my pups. During their stay she sent me updates and pictures. I feel very comfortable leaving my babies with her!”

I genuinely love being around other animals and Making sure I can help them feel the most comfortable and energized while under my watch 🙂💛 I will always have an OPEN schedule unless I am booked with another client. I will be able to take care of any fury babies anytime 🙂 I provide a safe, loving, and supervised environment for every pet in my care. Front and backyard for outdoor play! About: I have taken care of pets since I was young, and always had pets in my home! I am a huge huge animal lover! We currently have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 bearded dragons, chickens, ducks and rabbits. We love all animals! I have been a Stay at Home Mom since my girls were born. Now that they are older, I’m looking for new things to do that I enjoy, and can still be around for my family when they need me. I have a fenced in yard that the dogs run and play in, a detached garage with an attachment. Inside the attachment there is a couch, TV, AC, and heat, with plenty of room to run around and play! It makes a nice little hang out spot. We come out here to play and run around at times. There is also a security camera in the attachment as well. Dog must be potty trained, and good with other dogs and cats. Please be honest, so it won’t cause conflict while taking care of your baby and others. If we take care of larger dogs, they will stay in the attachment and not in the house.
About: I have loved and cared for dogs for as long as I can remember and have about 15 years of hands on pet care experience. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, personalities and energy levels. I have fostered dogs through It Takes a Village, including puppies, senior dogs, small breeds and large breeds, so I am comfortable caring for dogs with very different needs. I currently have several dogs of my own and dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved and included while they are in my care. I work from home, which allows me to be around throughout the day and give pets plenty of attention, potty breaks, supervision and companionship. I am able to provide a home environment where your dog does not have to spend the day alone. I can keep your pet’s normal routine as much as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, crate time and plenty of cuddles. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I have extensive experience caring for dogs with different personalities, ages, sizes and needs through both my own pets and fostering. I understand that every dog is different and I am happy to follow your instructions and routine. I provide plenty of supervision, attention, playtime and affection while making sure pets have a calm and comfortable place to relax. I am also comfortable with crate trained dogs and can accommodate individual feeding and care instructions.

“This is the 3rd time Marshall has stayed with Debbie. She always does a great job and sends lots of pics throughout the booking. I’m pretty sure she spoils my dog more than I do so he always gets a little vacation too! Couldn’t recommend her enough.”

“Michelle is amazing, not only a great person and loves dogs, very down to earth, she is very responsive, gives great updates with pictures so you can see how your babies are doing. She has the sweetest little Yorkie for a playmate. She was willing to keep your exercise and feeding routine going to the best of her ability. We absolutely loved her and will be using her services again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cleopatra home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cleopatra.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cleopatra sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
