Virginia took the best care of our almost one year old Lab/pitbull puppy. She sent pics & videos & I can tell he was spoiled during his doggy vacation. Highly recommend for quality care and flexibility with drop off/pick up.

About: Hi, I'm Tommy, my family and recently moved to Clearlake from Santa Rosa. I work nights and am home during the days, but my wife is here when I'm not and can help out if needed. We are all animal lovers here and enjoy having dogs. Unfortunately our own doggies have passed away recently. We aren't looking to get our own again just yet but would love to watch yours for a bit. :) I usually work from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. so I get home around 6:30 at which point I will let the dogs out for some yard time. My wife and son will be up around 7:00 and I know my son will be excited to go for a walk. My wife will be the caregiver until I wake up around 1:00 p.m. so one of us will be around at all times. We have a fenced fully fenced in yard and no other animals on the property, and there will always be someone here to take care of your pet.

After years of using another sitter we found through Rover, we had to find a new one, as our old one was retiring. Tim was great with the dogs and everything went perfectly. We will be repeat clients!!!

No worries after meeting Karen. Medications and feeding updates made me feel Lulu was in great hands! Will try to get her back in the future.

Karen was amazing!! It was a short notice and she welcomed Rascal with open arms. I had a fear of leaving g him with someone as he's a bit of a nipper. But Karen and Rascal got along from the beginning. She helped him out and trained him as well as made him feel comfy and at home. Will for sure work with Karen again on my next need to house Rascal. Thanks Karen!!!

About: I have always had a love of all animals from small to big. I love to be around dogs and play as much as I can. While in my care, I will take the dogs for an active walk and then let them run around the dog park for an hour. Sometimes longer if they are having a lot of fun. It's a solo walk right now but I have walked two at a time in the past. There are other times where I will just take them to the park and run them around and then walk back home. While in the home they will be showered in love and fun play time. Followed by more love and any snacks that you leave for your furry kids.

Leslie is very compassionate and accomminadating to my dog's needs. She is naturally a dog person. She takes him on awesome walks where he gets to socialize with other dogs and see goats. My dog is always wagging his tail when we arrive for drop off because he knows he's seeing his friend Leslie!

Diego was wonderful for our needed long weekend get away. He immediately suggested a meet and greet, which I prefer for a first time stay. He is very detailed and genuinely interested in getting all the facts, tips, and tricks for our pup, Eire. He took her on daily walks, cuddled her, and sent photos while we were away. Diego was able to give Eire his full attention. Not to mention our pup was so happy and still wanting to play with Diego when we picked her up. We will be looking for Diego’s availability for future trips. Highly recommend!

With only a couple of days notice I asked Stefanie if she’d watch our shy little dog overnight who also needed to receive a couple of oral medications. Stefanie responded quickly to my request. Drop off and pick was easy and I received texts with updates & pictures showing our dog enjoying her stay. Our dog came home happy and healthy. Thank you Stefanie!

Murray had such a nice time with Michael and Casey! He was in good spirits when we picked him up and he also ate while with them (always a sign that he feels comfortable somewhere!). They had another dog boarding while we were there and they played very well together (so much so that Murray slept most of the following day). Thanks so much!

Our dogs seemed very happy when we picked them up. I will leave our dogs with her in the future when visiting Calistoga or a town nearby.

About: Love all animals especially dogs. I live in a home with a large yard with two separate play areas. All boarding dogs should be socialized as I have a rottweiler lab mix who is a love bug and would love other dogs to play with. All dogs subject to coat check for fleas before accepting them. My fur baby is So far I have only had other dogs that are extremely loving and I would like to keep it that way. I am currently unemployed and have full time to make sure the dogs are given lots of attention. Dogs will be treated like family members. Pers will be allowed to go in and out freely and have two separately fenced areas. Generally they will be in the house with me.

About: I love all kinds of animals. I have 2 schnauzers of my own, a kitten, and a hamster. I've pet sitted a bearded dragon and rescued an orphaned baby squirrel. There is no pet that I won't care for. I do have a huge soft spot for dogs as they are the pets that I have cared for the longest. I love going on walks and playing around. I used to volunteer at the LAAS shelter when I had more time. I received training from them on dog, kitten, rabbit, and hamster handling. I'm a full time student but my appartment does not allow me to hold more than my tiny kitten and my hamster. I would love to meet more pets which is what led me here. I make sure to keep pets inside or heavily supervised if they are allowed to go out in the yard. I am very careful with walking dogs as I am aware of how exciteable they are.

I was warried leaving my shy dog but Lynette's experience was so valuable. She shared how Moorea felt comfortable after we left text and sent photos throughout the day. She knew exactly what to do with a shy dog and this saves so much time. It was a great experience and will be booking our vacation soon. My dog loves big dog and her dog Tori was so well behaved and sweet around Moorea.

Virginia is so kind and genuine. She watched my parents’ three dogs so my parents could travel to spend time with the rest of the family for our annual holiday get together. She was very accommodating and treated my parents’ dogs like her own, welcoming them right into her home. My parents get a little nervous about having people outside our family watch the dogs but Virginia set them right at ease. We’re so grateful to have Virginia close by. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Clearlake home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
