“Haejin and Herscel were great dog sitters for our 2 golden doodles. They gave us regular updates with pictures and videos, made sure our dogs were comfortable and got enough outside playtime to get out all of their energy! Would highly recommend to anyone in need of boarding your pets outside of your home.”

“This was our second time using Barbara. Will definitely use her again. She clearly loves animals and her regular updates were great! I was worried our boy might not want to come home. 🙂”

“Kristen was awesome with both my Irish Wolfhound puppy and his little sister a lab/pit bull mix. Plenty of time to run and play in the big areas. They both loved it.”

“What can I say? Sarah was fantastic! The whole experience was so easy and wonderful for our dog. Sarah was flexible and very responsive. Super accommodating. She kept us supplied with lots of updates and photos during the whole visit. Our hound sometimes has anxiety during new experiences but she was so well cared for that she felt immediately at ease when we arrived and through the whole visit. Sarah and her wonderful family took such good care of her that I would absolutely want my dog to stay with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Anahita was absolutely wonderful with my 1.5-year-old boy, Ranger! He’s still all pup-full of energy and curiosity, but she handled him with so much patience and care. She was incredibly responsive and respectful, keeping me updated and continuing to work with him on his manners and behavior. It’s clear she truly loves dogs. Our boy was in such good hands—highly recommend!”

“This was Blue’s second stay, and once again, we couldn’t be happier with the care he received. Thank you for taking such great care of him and treating him like part of the family. The updates and communication gave us peace of mind while we were away, and it was clear that Blue was comfortable, happy, and well loved. We truly appreciate everything you did for him and would absolutely book with you again.”

“Maki was excellent with Bruno. She was very caring and kept us up to date on everything including photos and videos. She took him on walks played with him and in general made him feel very comfortable and loved.”

“Chris, Rob, and Carla absolutely spoiled our pup (in the best way!!) They treated Alphonse like their own and provided lots of walks, attention, and yummy treats! I think Alphonse will be thrilled the next time we go out of town and he gets his own vacation with this family again. Couldn't recommend enough!”

“Heather was great! Kept me informed on how my dog Cody was doing and sent pics of him with her dogs. Cody seemed to love her Lab. Lots of room to run in her fenced in back yard. Will definitely use her again!”

“Kelly and her family are the best!! She’s always our first choice when we need to board our pup. She’s communicative, sends lots of pictures, and I can tell our pup feels at home. We’d recommend Kelly to anyone and everyone for dog boarding!!”

About: Hi there, my name is Kristina and I’ve just recently moved to the Winchester area! Caring for animals has always been one of the greatest joys in my life. With years of experience, looking after pets of all ages, personalities and needs I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, attentive and genuinely invested in each animals wellbeing. One of the biggest advantages of working with me is that I work from home full-time, this means that your pets will never be left unattended and I am able to give them consistent attention to ensure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. When your pet is with me, they’re treated like family whether it’s daily walks, playtime medication reminders or just offering affection and companionship, I make sure every animal feels loved and understood. I look forward to giving your pets the dependable, worry free care they deserve. I currently work from home Monday through Friday. I have the ability to visit your home and ensure your pets are doing well and to provide them any enrichment they may need whether it be walks or play. I currently live in townhouse with my husband and our dog, named Gorgi (Gorgonzola), we go on frequent walks in the morning afternoon and evening. We keep a clean home and have a basement that lets out into a small backyard. I have one X-Large kennel if your pup prefers to sleep in one as well as a puppy pad corner for those late night bathroom breaks. I would be happy to provide a tour our home upon request.
“Yang was amazing with Mochi!! Whenever I was wondering how Mochi was doing, Yang sent me a bunch of pictures of Mochi. I never had doubts to how she was doing and how she was behaving. Mochi is hard to trust new people but she felt instantly at home with Yang. If you are on the fence, go with confidence.”

“William was wonderful to our boy, Mickey! He was so flexible and understanding to coordinate a meet and greet then overnight stay. Lots of updates were sent showing Mickey having a great time with Maui! Thank you for being so welcoming and accommodating!”

“We are grateful for Cheryl for being available to take care of Bentley while we were gone. Can’t thank her enough for giving us a peace of mind knowing our Bentley is in good hands while we were gone.”

“If you're ever looking for a place for your fur kids to stay while you go out of town, I highly recommend Laura. I have 2 neurotic cats; 1 has CH that does not like getting confined in crates/small place and the other is spicy/moody. The stay was short with a (somewhat) unusual request, but Laura took them all in stride and went the extra mile to look after Sam and Cloud. Definitely one of my best rover experience and would not hesitate to ask her again in the future.”

“Super friendly folks! Highly recommended! I was at Buffalo Gap for a dance retreat. I could’ve taken my pup, but I was grateful to have my time—knowing she was well taken care of! Other dogs were there and they all got along great! Thank you!!!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Claytonville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Claytonville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Claytonville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
