“Valerie exceeded our expectations caring for our 13 year old dachshund. She spent ample time with him outside and ensured he ate. We enjoyed the updates with pictures which gave us confidence he was in good hands. We highly recommend Valerie and will request she care for our dog the next time we go out of town.”

“We were a pleased with the care and attention Jaclyn gave our cat while we were on vacation. She did daily drop in visits and sent pics of our cat everyday. We could see how much our kitty appreciated her visits by how she was snuggling or rolling over for Jaclyn. We will definitely hire her again! As a bonus Jaclyn even brought in our packages and mail!”

“Savanna did a great job taking care of my cat while I was on vacation with my family. She fed and pampered Sasha and sent me updates and pictures everyday. I highly recommend Savanna!”

“Morgan dropped in to visit with our two cats for a couple days. She was so attentive to their care and kept me updated on how they were doing. I would love to book with her again next time I need someone to check in on my cats. ?”

About: I currently work at a veterinarian clinic and deal with all types or breeds and temperaments. I have worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility. I would help with playgroups, walks, medication administration, and bathing. I have helped with potty and crate training, including my own dogs. I have a crate and rotate situation in my own home, so I understand that not all dogs can be around others. I would help on my days off at the vet clinic. I am always off on Sundays and major holidays. I would also try to fit any pet care on my days I work as well. I have a crate and rotate situation in my home. I know to take extra care to make sure my non dog friendly dog is up prior to letting any others out. I double check to make sure the crate doors are latched. I also make sure my own gate is closed because I would hate for one of my dogs to get out.

“Sarah did an excellent job with our girls Molly and Chloe. Molly is very picky about who she "likes". I was happy to see her playing and coming out when Sarah was there. I will definitely book Sarah again when we need someone in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring animal lover who truly enjoys spending time with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, playtime, or a calm and attentive sitter while you're away, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. **I also offer yard freedom for all my K9 friends, as our home sits on EIGHT ACRES, a sought after haven for those high energy babies who love to get their zoomies in!** I understand that every dog is unique, so I always take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and energy levels. From energetic walks and games to relaxed companionship, I tailor my care to what your dog needs most. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. You can expect regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know how your furry friend is doing. I treat every dog like they’re my own and work hard to build trust with both pets and their owners. I’d love the chance to meet you and your dog and help make their days happier while you’re busy or away! I am a SAHM, so caring for dogs and cats can easily be built into my schedule! My little one loves animals, so taking him along or introducing him to someone new is always exciting, he also enjoys playing with them! We do love backpacking on trails, so there is no limit to the care and fun I can provide. I provide safe, attentive, and loving care whether pets are staying in my home or I’m caring for them in their own home. Since I have animals of my own, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and I treat every animal like part of the family. For **boarding in my home**, I create a calm and comfortable environment where pets can relax, play, and follow a routine similar to what they’re used to. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, bathroom breaks, and a safe space to rest. For **house sitting in a client’s home**, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routine—feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care they need. I also help keep the home tidy and make sure pets feel secure while their owner is away. For **dog walking**, I make sure each walk is safe, fun, and suited to the dog’s energy level. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk walk or a slower sniff-and-explore pace, I tailor the walk to their needs. For **drop-in visits**, I stop by to feed pets, refresh water, clean litter boxes or potty areas, provide playtime, and make sure they get plenty of attention and care. No matter the service, I always prioritize safety, clear communication, and keeping owners updated with messages and photos so they know their pets are happy and well cared for.
“Toria is fantastic! Communication is exceptional. Very knowledgeable and truly cares about the animals. I have a very anxious/nervous dog with new people and it's just minutes before he's comfortable with her. I am very fortunate to have had a friend refer her.”

“Crystal is great! We have two Yorkies and one of which has a hard time warming up to people. Zoey actually had no problem warming up to Crystal at all. That made us so at ease and able to enjoy our vacation so much more. I’d totally recommend Crystal!”

“Brianna did a great job taking care of (and cleaning up after) my messy cat while I was away! She was extremely prompt in replying to queries and providing updates, and willing to go beyond the call of duty in checking in on the cat. Highly recommended sitter!”
About: What sets me apart is my extensive veterinary experience. I've had animals my entire life and have been a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) since 2011. I currently work full-time as a Practice Manager in a busy veterinary hospital, giving me years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, breeds, and medical needs. I'm comfortable administering oral medications, injections, insulin, eye and ear medications, and caring for senior pets, puppies, and those with special medical needs. I can recognize early signs of illness or injury and know when a situation requires veterinary attention, giving pet parents extra peace of mind. Above all, I treat every pet like they're my own. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, low-stress environment where your furry family member feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you're away. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. I work full-time as a Practice Manager at a veterinary hospital, so caring for animals is what I do every day. Before and after work, as well as during evenings and weekends, I dedicate time to providing personalized care, exercise, playtime, and plenty of love and attention. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet's normal routine and will do my best to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you're away. I care for pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, where they feel safest and most relaxed. I follow each pet's normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medication administration, and any special care instructions. During every visit, I make sure your pet receives plenty of love, attention, and companionship while also monitoring their health and well-being. As a Registered Veterinary Technician with years of experience, I'm comfortable caring for pets of all ages and medical needs, giving you peace of mind that they're in knowledgeable, compassionate hands while you're away.
About: I've lived on a farm for most of my life. My parents were always involved in fostering and caring for pets (most of them were found tossed in a ditch), and many became part of our family. I'm used to caring for animals of different temperaments/personalities. I've always been passionate about animals, and my husband and I have three pets of our own! I'm currently taking time off of school, so I'm flexible most days/hours of the week. My husband does travel for work sometimes, but those times would be reflected on my schedule. Our dog doesn't get along with other dogs, so I'd be more comfortable working with your pet(s) in their own familiar environment. I'd be available to walk, pet-sit, or check up on your fur babies.
About: I have had and cared for pets my entire life. Highly experienced with dogs and cats from puppy/kittens to seniors. I am comfortable enough with all animals that with some instruction I can care for anything. Experience in administering medication, even with cats. Patient with all animal personalities. I am very detail oriented and thorough. Reliable and great with instructions. I love animals and since semi-retiring I thought it would be nice to spend time caring for them when owners are on vacation or just need a little extra help. I practice reward based motivation. Semi-retired with plenty of time to play with and care for your animals. Happy to care for in home or take for walks. I can do multiple drop-ins a day. I am very good with instructions and will abide by any house rules and needs required for your pet. Experience house and pet sitting prior to joining Rover.
“Ben was awesome, very nice, caring and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable letting Ben into our home to care for our animals while we were away. We will forsure be using him again in the future.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,157 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Clayton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clayton. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
