About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13! I am currently on a Pre-Vet track while attending UC Merced. I have experience handling both cats and dogs in a veterinary clinic setting. I’ve worked with plenty of shelters where I would ensure the animals were well fed, socialized, and was able to create a clean/safe environment for them to the best of my abilities. I have 2 golden retriever dogs back in my hometown that I personally trained and raised since they were puppies when I lived with my parents. I am a full time student at UC Merced, however my classes are pretty condensed so I have a good amount of free time each day and all my evenings are 100% free. When I am entrusted with your furry friend I will always be sure to make time for their walks and keep to their feeding schedule! Weekends would be my most availability as it’s the days I don’t have classes. My house has a fenced backyard, and my housemates do have dogs and cats of their own and they are friendly towards other animals! If needed I’ll limit their interaction as I do have my own space in the house which is where your pet would be staying!

After meeting him in person, I was confident he was a good choice. Derek loves dogs and has decades of experience in caring for them. “Everything was outstanding. We left our dogs off with Rebecca and her husband and got on the road. They sent us many pictures and a video they took over the time our dogs stay with them. Rebecca and her husband have several dogs, cats and horses at their very nice home and our dogs seemed to have enjoyed their stay. Our dogs were kept together, as I am sure the separation from us caused them to have questions, etc. and keeping them together most likely eased the stress on our dogs. Our dogs were taken on a walk and paid attention to. I am sure our dogs appreciated that (in their own way). We would highly recommend these folks as everything was just outstanding. We don't travel too much, but when we have to travel again, we will look here first for someone to take care of our dogs as we feel our dogs got very good care. We highly recommend these sitters for their care and attention to our dogs.”

About: Animals are my thing. I have dogs, cats, chickens, birds, and sheep, many who are rescues, and I love them all. I have been taking care of animals ever since I was a young child and thought about becoming a vet, but I became a teacher instead. I am off work for the summer and many of my weekends are free now that my children are all teens and above. I am located conveniently near the 145 and highway 41 in the Madera Ranchos. On your way to Yosemite? Going to have some family time in Fresno? I’ll take care of your pet for you. Your dog will join the pack for its stay and relax or play on the 2 acres of fenced in land. I’m a teacher so I have open availability in the summer and on most weekends. I can check in on your pets in the afternoons or evenings when I’m working. I have 2 acres of fenced in yard. I also offer the dogs time to cool off in the pool and a large house to hang out in. If you want me to drop in on your pets at your home in the afternoons and weekends, I can do that too.
