“Amanda was fantastic! She did so well with our older shy kitty Shelby, that Shelby was coming out to visit when Amanda was at the house. Rosabelle, our younger kitty, really took to Amanda too. It really made my time away from home less stressful knowing that the kitties were doing so well with Amanda! I will definitely be using her services again. 😻”

About: I have taken care of dogs for over 5 years. This and caring for my own dog has taught me how important patience, consistency, and attention are when it comes to pet care. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, and understand that every dog has different needs. I make it a priority to keep owners updated and reassured! I am currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention and care that they need! I will be completely transparent with my schedule, while also making sure that your dog is a priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I make sure dogs get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and bathroom breaks while also respecting the owner’s instructions and household rules. During walks, I prioritize safety by using secure leashes, staying aware of surroundings, and making sure pets are comfortable and hydrated. I always treat clients’ homes with respect, keep the environment clean, and provide updates and photos so owners feel confident their pets are in good hands!
“Kristina is an excellent pet sitter!! If we need services for our cat (Oliver) again, she will be our first contact! Oliver looked great and was so happy when we returned from our trip! He misses you already!”

“Karen was absolutely amazing! Our kitty isn't a fan of people but Karen was patient and kind. By the last day, Fern even let Karen pet her. Karen also went above and beyond and sent lots of pictures. We will definitely have her back.”

“She was very communicative and gave Clio lots of attention and care. I received regular updates and photos, which made me feel at ease while I was away. Clio was happy and relaxed when I got back. I would definitely have her watch Clio again.”

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs and cats and other pets since 1986. Love, trust, patience and high respect with animals are my #1 priority! I have volunteered with Animal Protective League as well as adopted cats from there. I am pretty much a person who takes home a stray animal who needs a home. My family has taken in 20 cats in the last 25 years that were strays on the street and kept them their whole lives. We have owned, to this date, 14 dogs dating as far back as when I was a toddler. Animals are my passion and I look forward to meeting yours! I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I own 11 cats. I am available for long-term and short-term periods. I am flexible with schedules and times and days depend on the client’s needs as well as pet needs. Currently, I am available for walking dogs, watching cats, as well as checking in and feeding animals at the client’s house during the client’s absence. Please contact me for further details and a custom schedule! Currently not providing pet care in my home. Pet care will be provided in the client’s home. When pet daycare services become available in my home, it will be announced!
About: Hello, Me and my husband love animals and are looking to give them all the love while you are away. I have been watching pets on and off for over 15 years and my husband has helped ever since we’ve been together. We would love to add your family of pets to the list. Please contact me if you are leaving town and need a reliable sitter for your pet(s) or need someone to check on them throughout the day at your home. They will be given the proper care that you would provide them yourself! I have been a dog lover my whole life. I have always grown up around dogs and would not of had it any other way. I have helped several strays find their forever homes in the past. It warms my heart to help a pet in need. My husband and I will be sharing the responsibility for caring for you pet(s) from time to time. We will make sure your dog gets all the attention they could want when we stop in to care for them or care for them in our home. Will do walks and outside time as much as you would like! My work is different depending on the day and the week. I am happy to speak with you and see if I can make my schedule accommodate your needs. I treat dogs that I watch just as I would my own dog. I love all animals and I will give your pet the love they crave while you are gone.
“Laura was the absolute best!!! She responded quickly to booking and was always keeping me informed of my doggies. One of our outdoor cats even got extra love. I highly recommend her.”

“Our boys love Chelsea! This was super last minute and she was very accommodating. So glad to have found Chelsea to watch over our dogs when we’re out of town! She’s punctual and always sends pics :)”
“Amy was absolutely incredible with Thor, Arya, and Binx while I was away. She was so sweet, responsive, attentive, and truly loved my babies like they were her own. She even took Thor to the emergency vet for me when something unexpected came up, and I genuinely cannot express how grateful I am for the care and kindness she showed throughout everything. Coming home to happy, loved, well cared for pets meant the world to me. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone without hesitation.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
