“Amanda was fantastic! She did so well with our older shy kitty Shelby, that Shelby was coming out to visit when Amanda was at the house. Rosabelle, our younger kitty, really took to Amanda too. It really made my time away from home less stressful knowing that the kitties were doing so well with Amanda! I will definitely be using her services again. 😻”

“Found Derek last min for my fur baby and boy was I lucky! He’s very attentive to my Marley takes him on nice long walks and spends time with him after! I’m so glad I found him being a nurse I work long hours and I can’t come let him out! I recommend anybody letting Derek take care of their fur baby ❤️”

“We were glad to have Laura care for our cats while we were away. It was a relief to know they had someone to look in on them, care for them, and give them some love while we had to be away. We appreciated the photos and updates very much!”

“Found Jenna & Nikko last min to drop in and let my Marley out while I was working. They did a great job making sure he was taken care of. Great communication and photos. I had issue with my key code they even waited till it was resolved even tho it was past the book time and came and let him out! So greatful for them both and will book them again anytime!”

“Amy did a wonderful job taking care of my four cats. She always communicated well with me and my cats loved the time they spent with her. They looked very happy playing in all the pictures. There was also a storm that moved through and caused some issues at my house and she did a great job letting me know about that too!”

“Amanda was wonderful with my cat, Zoe! She sent detailed updates and photos after every visit, which made me feel more at peace. She was patient, kind, attentive and took the time to earn Zoe's trust—something that isn't easy. By the end of my trip, Zoe was following her around, letting Amanda pet and play with her. That meant so much to me. I came home to a happy, relaxed kitty, and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else to watch Zoe. I'll definitely be booking Amanda again!”

About: I have my own bull mastiff, trained him myself. Sit, stay, pray, paw, lay down, and he doesn’t pull on the leash and taught him how to “go home”. I’ve been around dogs my entire life as I have had a few and my mom has been on rover for 10 years dog sitting. I am a College student with primarily online classes so my schedule is flexible. I am not on campus, and am currently at home in Rolling Meadows. I care for pets in my own home as if they were my own. Very responsible college athlete, just finished my 3rd year of basketball and will graduate with my bachelors in May. Mindful of other peoples property and environments.
“Mary was absolutely amazing! We got prompt check ins and check outs with the app and photos of our dog everyday. She enjoyed spending time with our dog and he was so chill when we got home. We will definitely use her in the future and had a great experience.”

“She was very communicative and gave Clio lots of attention and care. I received regular updates and photos, which made me feel at ease while I was away. Clio was happy and relaxed when I got back. I would definitely have her watch Clio again.”

“Mary Ann did a great job for our first time with Rover. She was reliable, timely and did a great job with our cat, Pepe. Loved the pictures, the updates and overall, she filled all of our needs and expectations. So glad we found her!”

“Karen was absolutely amazing! Our kitty isn't a fan of people but Karen was patient and kind. By the last day, Fern even let Karen pet her. Karen also went above and beyond and sent lots of pictures. We will definitely have her back.”

“Rebecca did such an amazing job with our kitties!! She played with them, brushed them, checked in with me with questions whenever needed, and sent lots of adorable pics of them!! She was very loving, sweet, and patient with our kitties and I would definitely book with her again!!”

“Laura took such good care of our 3 kitties while we were gone on vacation and sent us pictures of them every time she visited them. I would definitely recommend booking with her and I would trust her to watch our kitties again any time. :D”

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs and cats and other pets since 1986. Love, trust, patience and high respect with animals are my #1 priority! I have volunteered with Animal Protective League as well as adopted cats from there. I am pretty much a person who takes home a stray animal who needs a home. My family has taken in 20 cats in the last 25 years that were strays on the street and kept them their whole lives. We have owned, to this date, 14 dogs dating as far back as when I was a toddler. Trust is everything and you can be rest assured that your pets will be lovingly cared for while you enjoy time away! Animals are my passion and I look forward to meeting yours! I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I own 11 cats. I am available for long-term and short-term periods. I am flexible with schedules and times and days depend on the client’s needs as well as pet needs. Currently, I am available for walking dogs, watching cats, as well as checking in and feeding animals at the client’s house during the client’s absence. Please contact me for further details and a custom schedule! Currently not providing pet care in my home. Pet care will be provided in the client’s home. When pet daycare services become available in my home, it will be announced!
About: I am a dog and cat lover and always happy to take the best care of your beloved family member. I originally came from Wag! a different dog walking/sitting app with over 800 completed services with a 5 star rating. I trained puppies, taken care of senior dogs, administered insulin, and love caring for dogs of all sizes. I have done dog walking/ pet sitting full time for a few years and currently looking for new clients as I moved to this area from Nashville TN. I prefer sitting in my clients home, it makes me comfortable knowing the pet is in their space and have their familiar surroundings. And following the routine the owners have given me to ensure their pets are happy, healthy, and safe while they are away!
“Nakee was AWESOME! My dog is 13yrs old and requires extra attention. He bonded with Nakee immediately during our meet and greet. She was very professional and attentive to all our needs. Will definitely use her again!🤗”

There's a reason I've trusted Karah time and again with my shy kitty: she's dependable, sends updates and pictures, and is really skilled at matching her care to the needs of my kitty so much so that my shy cat is now very comfortable with her and always in good spirits when I return!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
