“Leaving your pet with someone you don’t know is hard but when I first met Jackie I knew she would be a good match for us and our dog Ivy. We loved the videos and pictures and according to her young son we need to bring her back. ?”
“Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our dog. Nicole is extremely professional, and we truly appreciated the frequent updates and pictures. I would 100% recommend her services to anyone looking for a passionate, loving second home for their pet.”
“Our dog had a awesome stay. He was treated like a king, he had normal walks, and free roaming in backyard for potty breaks when needed. We recieved fun pictures every day when we were gone. Highly recommended.”
“Danielle was great, she was flexible with our drop off and pick up schedule and was very willing to snuggle with our dog, who believes she was born to do nothing else.”
“A very loving family with lots of pet experience. They were able to teach my dog how to “drop” a ball after fetching. Before she would not want to give it up after fetching a toy. They also helped her learn how to get along with other dogs.”
“Jessica was very responsive and took care of my dog well. My dog was happy and played a lot when he was boarded at Jessica’s. Thank you Jessica for accommodating our last minute request.”
“Jacqueline and Uriel loved my dog just like she was their own. I really appreciated the photos and videos throughout her time with them! I highly recommend and will visit again!”
“Brian was very accommodating, taking care of my dog for two weeks on short notice. He provided updates and photos that gave me piece of mind. Plus, my dog was able to socialize with his dog, which was a bonus! His rates were reasonable; he answered my texts and questions in a timely manner. Overall very happy, and I will check back with him, should we need help with boarding our dog in the future. Thank you Brian!”
“Maria was absolutely amazing! From the moment we dropped our dog off, we knew he was in great hands. She took him on long, enjoyable walks and kept us updated with pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. Maria was incredibly responsive and clearly treated our dog with so much love and care. He came home happy, well-exercised, and clearly adored his time with her. We are so grateful and would absolutely trust her again in the future!”
“Cheryl and her husband were so accommodating with our big pup, Titus and were so friendly and welcoming! Sent us pictures with updates and did great with him. Will definitely go to her again in the future.”
About: Hello, I’m a mother of one, and we own a Siamese cat named Atlas. We had a dog a couple of years ago and he has since passed due to an accident and as we’re opening our hearts to the thought of a new member we’re also opening our doors to care for pets while we go on our own journey of finding our own Canine Best Friend. We reside in a a very safe- family friendly neighborhood.( Elgin, IL) Our cat; Atlas stays indoors and in his own room as he likes his privacy so there is no worries about anccidental ill encounters. Since I am a home-maker, a have a lot of time on my side. My regular routine with a toddler is very active in terms of going outside, going for walks, running etc and we wake up everyday with the same goal. “Be tired by the end of the day” 🏃🙏 Yard is UNFENCED. All dogs will be on their leash when playing in the yard. If they have an EXTENDED length leash, it’d be great for them to run around more freely!
“Amazing dog sitter! She sent a bunch of pictures of my dog during his stay and took him on some really nice walks. He seemed really happy when I picked him up. Definitely recommend!”
“Patricia took amazing care of Zoey. She was great with sending us video and photo updates which gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend Patricia and look forward to having her watch Zoey again.”
“Roberto and his family welcomed my dog to his family who are all dog lovers. He was well cared for and enjoyed his time with them. Would confidently recommend Roberto.”
“My 3 pups love being with Dorene. She sends updates and pictures daily of what my boys have been up to for the day. I highly recommend her services. I know my boys are in great hands and are loved and taken care of just as much as they would be at home with me.”
“There are not enough stars for my review. Katey and her family are so gracious and kind and from the moment of our Meet & Greet I knew my German Shepherd would be in good hands. My dog suffers anxiety and is quite shy but knowing Katey had been a Vet Tech made me feel comfortable that any issues would be minimal and that is exactly what occurred. Katey was very responsive to text messages and sent tons of photos. I feel so blessed to know if I need someone in the future that Katey is on Rover as an option. If you love you pet as if they were your child, then trust them with someone responsible, caring, and professional, choose Katey for your next boarding or daycare. Thanks Katey, Wrigley already misses you all.”
“Beth is a wonderful, caring person for your pet. She treats them as her own which gives you peace of mind while you are away that your “baby” is being treated well and loved. I’ve taken my dog there several times and will continue to do so as long as she will let me. 💕”
“We loved having Barbara watch our 5 month old puppy, Hannah. You could really, really tell she cared for her (and all her pets!). She sent updates and funny stories, Hannah ate, played and slept well, and Barbara made sure she was safe and loved. We would highly recommend having Barbara and her family watch your pup any time!”
“David & Mary are AMAZING ❤️. I will Highly trust them in the future with my dog. They showed him Much Love & I see how much he Loved them when I picked him up. If you're looking for a dependable, loving, trusting pet sitter, David & Mary are for you❤️.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Charter Grove home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Charter Grove.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Charter Grove sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
