“John was fantastic! He kept us updated on what was going on at home and sent us pictures of the pets each day. He made sure the cats and Guiana pig didn’t miss a step in their routine while we were out of town. Fantastic experience! We will use him again.”

About: Ive taken care of different kinds of dogs since childhood. Family, friends, and locals have trusted me to feed, watch, or walk their dogs. I also can bathe dogs and brush them if needed. About: I have taken care of animals for over a year now at a dog daycare/boarding centre in a variety of different circumstances. From Mastiff’s to Chihuahuas, I am confident taking care of various different sized dogs with a variety of different dietary needs from raw diets to kibble diets, medical needs from dogs that get medication once a day to dogs that get medication several times a day, and activity needs from dogs that need regular exercise to senior dogs that don’t need to be exercised. I have also had experience handling dogs that are extremely nervous around new people, dogs that can resource guard toys, and dogs that are highly reactive. I am a full-time commuter college student with large gaps between my morning and afternoon classes which I can travel to and from the owners house to let their dogs out and play with during. The only time that I am unable to stop by the house between classes is on Thursdays where I will be gone from 8 am to 2 pm due to my in-person lab course. I only offer services at my clients house so as of not to subject the pet to unnecessary stress from being in a new environment. I can administer any medication that is not via injection, I can cater to a variety of diets ranging from raw meat every day to freshly cooked food three times a day to kibble twice a day depending on the dogs needs, I have personal leashes that I can use or I can use the owners leashes to take the dog on walks as often as request/needed.
“Kady went above and beyond to take excellent care of my cats. She was meticulous, thorough, very caring, and definitely paid attention to the instructions. I know my cats were provided affection and attention and she sent multiple photos and detailed messages about her visits. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her. Such a sweet young lady who obviously loves animals.”

“This was the second time Vanessa took care of my 2 cats. She was able to capture a few photos of them while we were away, and as always, took great care of the kitties and house.”

I'd love to arrange a meet & greet to get to know your pet in their environment and discuss expectations. My goal is to make sure your pet is happy and well taken care of while you're away. About: Moved to California, MD area from being stationed in Japan! With a lifetime of experience caring for cats and dogs, I know that pets are more than just animals—they’re family. I’ve raised three dogs and currently have both a poodle and a cat. My skills include puppy training, crate training, basic command training, and managing pets with medical needs, including medication administration. I’m also experienced with reactive dogs, allergies, and maintaining breed-specific grooming standards. As a passionate pet lover, I volunteered with the Red Cross animal visitation program while Active Duty & St Mary Animal Humane Society. You can trust me to treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own! I work part-time and live 10 minutes from my house. I always check in on my pets during lunch. My husband works nights so he is home while I’m at work and we switch. I have a fenced yard, and lots of dog friendly walking areas. I have two friendly pets who do very well with other animals. I crate my dog when I leave home for safety & use cameras to check in on them.

About: I’ve had experience since I was born but I’ve been more attentive and actually working to take care of them since 13. I’m 18 now, I have watched scared dogs, big dogs, friendly dogs, jumping dogs, sleepy dogs, small dogs, and same goes for cats! I have 4 dogs currently, and I freed them and take them out all the time, so extra dogs wouldn’t make any difference I would just do the same with them as I do with my dogs! They would have all permissions as my dogs! I will take them out, check them for tics or anything hurting them if they show it. Feed them obviously! And give them treats on certain occasions, or whenever you say I can give them. I take my time with them and love them with my whole heart! Your dog will be treated exactly how I treat mine!
About: I’m an experienced, reliable, and responsible pet sitter who truly loves animals. I have a large fenced in yard for exercise, and a screened in porch. I can set up a crate if needed. We have 2 large friendly dogs to keep your baby company. Fresh water, regular feeding, medication administration if needed and lots of love! I can guarantee your pup will never get lonely!
“I give Bree a rating of 1000/10. This was the longest time (8 days) that we had to leave our curmudgeonly old-man behind and I was concerned, but Bree went above and beyond to make sure our Puppy Cat had companionship and felt loved. She kept in regular communication with us and reported in detail about each visit with him. She even provide photo evidence that he allowed her to touch him! I didn't think about it until I saw the pictures she provided, but she paid attention to the details during our initial meeting and I was especially pleased that our old man's food was handled how and where he was used to so it was one less disruption. We will definitely ask Bree to sit for us next time we need.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chaptico. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
