“We couldn’t be more grateful to Christopher and Angela for the incredible care they gave Olive. From the very beginning, we felt completely comfortable knowing she was in such loving hands. They took wonderful care of her, but what meant the most to us was how much they genuinely loved her and made her feel like part of their family. A very special mention has to go to their daughter, Emily. Olive absolutely adores all three of them! There is such a difference between finding someone who will simply take good care of your dog and finding people who will truly love her while you’re away. Christopher, Angela, and Emily gave us that, and it means more to us than we can say. We would trust Olive with them again in a heartbeat.”

“This is our second time leaving our Charlie with Suzanne and, again, she did a great job with him! She took good care of him and texted us daily updates with pictures while we were away. We enjoyed our vacation knowing that Charlie was in good hands with Suzanne!”

“Chloe was AMAZING!! She took such great care of our dog and was wonderful to work with. She kept us updated throughout our trip and our pup loved her time with Chloe and her family!! Would highly recommend her and hope to have her watch our dog again in the future!”

“Susie was a calm and confident sitter for our dog, Gus. She was flexible with pick-up/drop-off times. A very warm and welcoming home. Gus was comfortable and well loved while we were out of town.”

“Paula is a dog person thru and thru and I loved knowing my Lily pug was safe in her care. Will use Paula again :) Thank you again for taking such good care of our lily pug!”

“So happy to have come across Jennifer and Eric before boarding our pup. Seeing photos of him snuggling their kids and knowing he was being loved on all week gave us so much peace of mind while we were on vacation. Thank you guys so much!”

“Thank you Dottie for taking care of our Molly! Dottie was so attentive to Molly’s health and needs the whole time and helped eased my concern. I was worried that Molly wouldn’t settle in and be part of the pack. Dottie was great with Molly and Dottie’s very well behaved dogs helped Molly fall in line with their pack. Dottie kept me up to date on how Molly was doing with pictures and texts. Thank you!! We’ll be coming back for an extended stay soon!”

“Melani was great taking care of CalCal my goldendoodle. We met up beforehand to make sure my dog would get along with her dog. She sent many photos during the boarding. Would use her again; thanks Melani!”

“Zuko’s favorite place to be!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We will continue to leave our fur baby with Kylee for as long as she will take him!! :) He loves playing with his new friends there and Kylee is always sending us pictures during his stay which makes me feel so much better about leaving him!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with our Siru! She took phenomenal care of our dog and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. This was our first time leaving him with a sitter, and she was so personable, kind, and communicative that she immediately put us at ease. She sent us lots of updates and adorable pictures throughout his stay, which we really appreciated and made being away from him so much easier. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and treated him like her own. We came home to a very happy, well-loved dog! We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again. Thank you, Siru!”

“This was Ziggys first time staying with Nadine and he was so excited and ran up the stairs to her front door. He must have remembered Nadine and her fur babies from our meet and greet. Ziggy seemed so happy after his weekend with Nadine. Her backyard is amazing. We’ll definitely book again!”

“Samantha and Brian’s family watched our Wheaten Terrier for two weeks. They kept us updated with photos and we knew he was in good hands. Thanks for giving Charlie lots of snuggles while we were away.”

“Lilly seemed to have a great time. She was in great spirits when we picked her up, and was obviously tired that night from all the attention she received from Kim and her family.”

“Katie was so responsive! It was the first time leaving Sezzy (not with family or friends). Katie communicated and sent me sweet updates regularly throughout her stay! Looks like Sezzy had a fun time and made some new friends. Thank you again Katie!!!”

About: We lost our 16 year old Lab Zeus 6 months ago and looking to share our love for dogs while waiting to be dog parents again. My wife and I work from home and share pet responsibilities. We have a lot of love to give and share walking, feeding and caring. Fenced yard with room to roam. Nice neighborhood to walk and explore. We have had 2 dogs at this house and never had any issues.
“Words simply aren’t enough to express the gratitude I have for how my 4 dogs were loved and immediately welcomed in by her family. To say my dogs wanted to stay with her isn’t an understatement. I consider myself blessed to have met such a wonderful and caring family to love on my pet people when I can’t. She deserves all the praise in the universe. Woof woof woof woof wag wag wag wag from the crew too. We love you!”

“my dogs loved their stay during the visit. I think I was more nervous than my dogs being that this is the first time they’ve ever been boarded anywhere I was sent pictures all throughout their stay and my puppy Oliver really opened up while he was there. Before going to boarding he was much more shy with people and other dogs and being boarded really helped him with socialization. My other dog cinnamon is super social so I wasn’t really worried about her. She gets along with all dogs and people so I’m really thankful that I boarded them. They had the time of their lives.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Champoeg home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Champoeg.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Champoeg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
