“Roberta took very good care of Ginger. She also checked in often to let me know how she was doing. She also checked in when there was any concerns or questions that she had. Ginger was very happy and I had no worries. Would definitely recommend Roberta.”

“Eliza is a great pet sitter. She was always sending me pictures and videos to show how Mimi was doing and I knew the moment I pick Mimi up that she had a great time. Thank you Eliza. Mimi will love to see you soon.”

“Katie was amazing! My pups felt at home and Katie sends tons of pictures to let you know how the dogs are doing. My younger dog can be scared of new situations and Katie knew exactly how to help her feel more comfortable. Katie was flexible and communicative. Thank you!!”

“Allegra and family took great care of Wesley, our New Mexico mutt. From the pictures Allegre sent, Wesley and her dog Bowie looked inseparable. So glad to have a reliable, communicative dog sitter in town when we need it.”

“Ian took such good care of our Max. He went on walks and a car ride (Max lives a car ride!), so Max had the best day. Thanks for being available at the last minute and for taking care of Max!”

About: I grew up around lots of animals (cats, dogs, chickens, goats, reptiles), and I now have a lovely cat of my own named Julian. I absolutely love getting to spend time with other people’s pets. At this point in my life, I’d say I’m very much both a dog-person and a cat-person. I go on walks every day before or after work, and during my lunch break. Walking a dog would fit naturally into that routine. I’m willing to wake up early in the morning if needed, and if the client lives in Santa Fe, I would have the capacity to visit the dog or cat during my midday break from work as well. If the client lives outside of Santa Fe, I’m still available every evening for walks, feeding, and giving the dog/cat attention and human contact. I’m typically able to stay overnight at a client’s home any night of the week if needed. I treat pets with care, respect, and attentiveness. I’m a clean and tidy houseguest, and will respect the client’s privacy and boundaries. Whether you need me to take your dog for a walk, stop by once or twice a day to feed your cat, or stay overnight to keep your pet(s) company, I will be professional, responsible, and caring towards your pets. I’m happy to answer further questions, so please feel free to contact me anytime.

“Ashleigh and her family were great with my two dogs. It had been awhile since I boarded them and she made them feel right at home and sent pictures of them and sent updates frequently during their stay and made me feel at ease while they were in her care. My return trip was delayed and she was accommodating and flexible with the pickup time. I’ll definitely rebook with Ashleigh for future trips!”

“We have continued to use Candace as she is great with our Chihuahua. Our pup wags her tail when we walk up Candace's steps to drop her off, that's when we know she's in great hands.”
“Brooke was phenomenal. I feel lucky to have found her and think she's an absolute gem on this app. I will definitely be using her again to take care of Luna, would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter! It was a huge relief to know that Luna was being so well attended to. She seemed really happy and like she settled in with Brooke right away and Brooke's communication was amazing. I received lots of updates and photos.”

“We could not be more grateful to have found Marlena for our first River experience! Especially on a last minute notice! Leaving our doggos with someone new is always a bit stressful, but she instantly won them (& us) over & treated our dogs like her own. Throughout the stay (overnight plus additional hours), Marlena was incredibly sincere & honest with us about how our dogs were doing. She provided detailed updates, photos & videos, we so appreciated her open communication. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such a safe, capable, & loving hands. Our dogs just loved her so much. We will absolutely be booking with Marlena again!”

“Michael was great. He’s the only dog sitter I’ve had that actually did everything he said he would. My dog got lots of exercise and I had plenty of updates throughout the weekend. Would recommend to anyone!”

“Good communication, smooth drop off and pick up, reasonable rate. Was very welcoming to Nala and made her comfortable with other dogs Will see her in our future trips through Sante Fe”

About: I'm happy to walk dogs or take any other animals outside in nature. Or I'm down to sit and pet animals. I'm happy to brush their coats, give them any medicine, and feed them at any interval. I'm currently an investor in Rio Rancho so I have plenty of free time to enjoy them and socialize them. I love pets and dont have any so I have a lot of love to offer them. I'm happy to care for pets in their home while staying at their home. I can let the animal feel most comfortable in their own environment while providing lots of love and attention.

“Caitlin was great. She sent photos over the weekend and provide updates! Sully came back happy and healthy. She was very accommodating with my changing schedule and asked a lot of questions about my dog before hand! They have a nice fenced in backyard and we’re able to have a meet and greet which made the experience all the more comfortable! I would definitely recommend using Caitlin.”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 15 years old. Most of them I have either met online or the neighborhood. I have worked with any age from 0-12 and can make your baby feel at home while their owners are not around. I currently work night shifts 4 days a week so I have tons of time to feed, walk, or bathe you’re loved ones. Whenever I am not at home I do have my boyfriend at home holding down the fort so your baby will never be alone. You can trust me with feeding, walking, bathing and/or giving them their medicines. I will show them just as much love as I show my own furries and if they are at my home, my babies will make them feel welcome.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cerrillos home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cerrillos.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cerrillos sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
