“I was very nervous to have to leave my cats overnight, especially since they can get nervous around strangers, but they came home still happy and calm. Mayra made me feel very confident in her ability to care and she did just that. Thank you!”

“Kendall took great care of my 13 lb. Yorkie for 2.5 weeks. She is great with dogs, and periodically sent photos of her pup and mine playing and going for walks. My pup can be high energy at times, but Kendall and her pup kept mine entertained. My pup came home happy and healthy. :o)”

“Izzy was so happy and had a great time. She met other dogs and played a lot. Angel sent us lots of photos which made us feel very relaxed. We felt she was in excellent hands so we could enjoy our trip so much more relieved.”

“Melinda was a fantastic dog sitter for Walter! He immediately felt right at home, even sitting on top of her laundry. She was great with providing us updates and Walter really enjoyed her yard and the other pups she was watching. Would absolutely have her watch Walter again!”

“Our dog, Ailyn, had a great time with Jessica and her animals. Ailyn was fascinated with the cats and between them and Clara she had a blast and played hard during her stay.”

“Stephanie was wonderful for our first time using Rover! She was incredibly communicative and sent plenty of photos and updates during the four hours our dog, Fredo, was with her. Fredo has significant vision and hearing deficits along with high anxiety, and Stephanie was so patient in trying to navigate his unique needs. While the environment ultimately wasn’t the right fit for Fredo’s specific anxiety, I could tell he was in caring hands. I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone in the Santa Fe area looking for an attentive, responsive, and kind sitter!”

“Stay was perfect for Maggie! ?. Tami was awesome about communicating daily and keeping us updated. Place is great!! Fenced back area and comfy couches for the kiddos. Very happy to have found her. Will definitely use Tami again on next trip this summer to Santa Fe!! Thanks Tami!! ???✅”

“Highly recommend Rachel! My puppy was so very happy, it was a caca for her. Every picture I received, Daisy Mae was smiling. Rachel added to my pups experiences with socializing and being around other humans ( she learned manners) I never expected to be so pleased! I will always book with Rachel!! Rachel is a fur babies Parent, dream come true!!”

“Katie, if I had the ability to give 10 stars to you, I would! Thank you so much for trusting in me and my assesss vment of who Phoenix is and for trusting your intuition and accepting Phoenix for a number of days when you didn't know him and agreed to take him while I was visiting Santa fe. Thank you so much for taking good care of him when he got diarrhea while he was in her home. When I first arrived I thought how is this going to work with all the dogs and no big backyard. Within a few minutes to made it all clear how it would work and I am grateful to you for all the walks you got in with him while he was with you. And .... because I lost his new gentle leader AGAIN, tonight I put him in the suitcase leash position that you taught me and we just finished the BEST evening 'snif'arrai we have ever had. It was everything I have hoped for with him on a leaisurey evening walk. I am most grateful to you and to Joe ... who Phoenix says was the best snuggle partner EVER. THANK YOU to both of you! Maybe see you again in August ...”

“It was wonderful getting videos of my dog Clio having a great time staying with Allegra and family—and then to get back to a happy and healthy Clío awaiting me. Highly recommend.”

“Heidi is great! She thoughtfully cared for my picky, excitable German Shepherd mix. She has a large dog friendly yard and kept us informed on how he was doing. I'd recommend her without reservation. Thanks, Heidi!”

“Lily literally came through when I needed a pet-sitter ASAP . I’m am so pleased / appreciative of her help picking up Prince and dropping him off. She definitely kelp me updated on him and how he got along with her dog. So I would definitely recommend Lily again . Thanks Lily 😊❤️”

“Ian took great care of our giant puppy for a week over Christmas so we could be with family on the East Coast. We appreciated his willingness to do so over the holiday.”

“Laurie was just great in every aspect of boarding our pooch Mikey. She was very accommodating to our schedule and was quick to respond to calls and text. But most importantly, Laurie was fantastic with Mikey. One could immediately tell she is at ease with dogs. I would certainly use Laurie on our next visit to Prescott and recommend her to our friends with dogs. John and Nancy F.”

“Reliable and conscientious. Worked thru illness and lots of snow. Willing to change her schedule when I booked the sit wrong and was already on my way out of town! Not super experienced with cats (I was in a shelter beh department and my mom bred cats so my baseline is high) but reading and learning. Also learning R+ training! My cat was not as frantic as she usually is when I got home after being gone almost two weeks. So she clearly got lots of attention. Plus she continued meowing for Rhiannon and checking the doors even when she had me. And no new undesirable behaviors. Also I'd left the house excessively clean because I had guests coming and was pleased to find it just as clean when I got home.”
“Ian did a great job. He was happy to water my patio plants and even got my cat back inside after he escaped out the patio door on the last day of my trip :) He is thoughtful and checked in to make sure I made it home. I recommend. Thanks Ian!”

“Elizabeth took great care of my boy. He is very social and needs more attention and play than most cats and I can tell he was very well cared for. She also took the time to learn and do his grooming routine, which meant that his long coat was in great shape when I got back. I would definitely use her again.”

“Angel did a great job. She was on time for visits, sent lots of photos and contacted me when necessary for questions. Through her communication she put my mind at ease that my kitties were being well cared for. I will use her again.”

About: I'm new to caring for dogs professionally, I've dog and cat sat for my neighbor several times over the last three years. While I'm new to taking care of pets in a professional setting, I've cared for dogs of all kinds since I was 10 years old. I've always felt a kindred spirit for animals and treat them with the utmost respect and care. From feeding, to bathing, and walking there isn't any dog I haven't enjoyed taking care of or spending time with. I recently lost my sweet boy who was in my life for seven years as he was an elder dog when I adpoted him and that's what brought me to Rover. I can guarantee your pet will be well cared for with me. I have a pretty open schedule right now since I only work part-time. I'm available after 3 pm Monday - Wednesday and have full availibility Thursday - Sunday to care for your fur baby. I'm available for boarding on weekends and can come to your fur baby as well if they prefer being at home. You can have peace of mind knowing that your fur baby will be cared for with full attention to detail. I can ensure a peaceful and calm environment when caring for your pets especailly senior pets who enjoy peace and quiet. If your pet needs a lot of outside time, walks are my specialty. Whatever your pet needs are I can accomodate. I'm always open to meeting with you and your pet to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

About: Cats have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I currently have three of my own who mean the world to me. I’ve cared for cats from every walk of life and understand that each one has their own personality, boundaries, and needs. I approach every cat with patience, respect, and a calm energy that helps them feel safe and comfortable. I have hands-on experience caring for cats with medical needs, including closely monitoring a rescued kitten through kidney failure and administering IV treatments. I’m also comfortable giving eye drops and have cared for kittens with eye conditions requiring consistent medication. Whether your cat is playful and social or shy and independent, I take the time to understand their routines, cues, and comfort levels so they feel secure and well cared for while you’re away.

About: What sets me apart as a cat sitter is my ability to connect with cats of all temperaments, from shy to playful. I have experience caring for senior cats with special dietary or medical needs, ensuring they stay comfortable and healthy. For more adventurous felines, I can assist with leash training or supervised outdoor walks. My attention to detail means I always notice changes in behavior or health, giving pet owners peace of mind. Most importantly, I treat every cat with the patience and care they deserve, tailoring my approach to their unique personality.

“Mel was Amazing with Margaret! They were very understanding when our plans changed and flexible with our schedule. Mel sent an update daily and very communicative! Will definitely book again! 😸”

About: My family has had cats since I was just 7 years old. Though it turned out my Mom was severely allergic, we made some adjustments around the ranch so that we could still keep them and take care of them. At one time we even had 35 cats! My husband and his family also have cats, and I would be more than happy to pop in/check in on your furry friend. Though I’m allergic and can’t keep them overnight, I’ll be happy to check in on them as much as you need! I’ll be happy to send photos and updates as well. Let me know if you have any special requests so I can make sure your furry friend is all taken care of!

About: My brother has 2cats Dimple and Meu, and 1 rescue dog Silver. I often walk/sit for him as well as my coworker whenever they go out of town. His pets are 1 cat Gemma, and 1 dog Bear. Bear is pretty handicapped needs some assistance and Gemma you have to call home haha, everyone has their routines and im just here to help!
“Hannah was amazing! our cat was injured last minute before our trip, and she was so caring and flexible with us and our last minute changes and complications, and stepped up to give pain pills and extra care. Sky adored her and we appreciated all the updates and photos she sent. she made us feel a lot of ease while leaving our healing kitty in her hands.”

About: I enjoy caring for and being present with dogs. I am empathetic and always in tune with what others are feeling and need. I would love to hang out with your dogs! I have been around animals my entire life and find myself growing more drawn to caring for them every day. Currently, I do not have a dog of my own so I feel that taking care of your dogs would bring so much joy and fulfillment to my life. I enjoy all types of dogs and personalities and would enjoy getting to know your dogs! I feel others would describe me as patient, balanced, and responsible. Whether I'm just watching your dogs for the day or for an extended period of time you will be able to rest easily because they will be in warm, loving care.
About: I have spent the last 3 years traveling while doing house/pet sits throughout Mexico, Arizona, California, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. My clients have included some high profile gigs in Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu, but I have also spent months at a time living off-grid in the Mexican jungle and caring for animals on remote farms. My experience dates back to 1991 when I worked my high school summer vacations on a sheep farm to escape city life. I love ALL animals, and have had a special connection with them, my whole life. Your pets (and babies) will be comfortable with me right away. I have been a mom to birds, rodents, fish, cats, and dogs. I do have some experience with reptiles, as well. I come with many years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats from the puppy/kitten stage through their golden years, so you can rest assured that any special accommodations your fur-baby may need will be met with kindness and compassion. I am particularly fond of, and experienced with Bully Breeds, Golden Retrievers, and Doodles of all varieties. I only provide pet care in the owners home as I’ve found it is a far less stressful experience for the pets and the sitter. It’s all I do, so your pets will get tons of attention and affection. I also do occasional dog walking gigs while I’m staying at your home. Your babies are my babies while you’re away, and your home will be treated with the utmost respect. Confidentiality and privacy are considered paramount, always.
About: Look no further!! I’m the answer to all your dog’s needs… I respond very quickly, so please reach out. Let’s do a meet and greet ASAP!! Please read my profile and be sure to check out my photo gallery where you’ll see what kind of fun that we have on a daily basis. My reviews should give you an idea of what to expect when you book with me. I will send tons of pictures and videos every day. Headed out of town?? I’d love to stay with your dogs and create a seamless stress free opportunity for you to get away. Or we can all stay at my place with AC, a fenced in yard, and many neighborhood parks nearby. My house is in a safe and quiet neighborhood right across the street from Frenchy Field. Rest assured that they will be cared for as if they were my own while having the comfort and familiarity of your home, or the tons of fun that goes on at my place. I love all dogs unconditionally. I can provide a much smaller pack environment for your dog rather than a kennel where there could be 50 dogs at a time. Yikes!! I only accept dogs from one to two owners at a time so please plan ahead as I may get booked very quickly. This ensures that I can give your dogs the attention and care that they deserve. My daily routine revolves around my pack needs. Our routine is generally foods, walks, parks, poops, pees, plays, sleeps, repeat…. I am flexible and can accommodate pretty much any type of needs for your pets. I am ready to come care for your pets whenever I am available. Everything from simple walks and feeding to extended stays at my place or yours, it sounds like fun to me. I have a full time best friend and dog named Spreckles who is pretty close to perfect. His nickname is Sprex. He is Hawaiian, so naturally he is very friendly and mellow with tons of Aloha. My number one priority is pack safety. I follow a daily routine and consistent schedule with my pack. Our day always starts with a nice walk to a nearby park. I use my own custom made leash system that I can walk many dogs at the same time, safely and securely. When we’re not out walking or at the park we do a lot of chilling and hanging out around our house and fenced in yard. I promote the pack mentality among my dogs as I am always their pack leader who ensures their safety and protection all the time. I’m glad to use your dog’s crate at my house whenever I am not home if needed (not typical). Sometimes I take the pack out on planned field trips, usually afternoons and weekends, to various places throughout the area. Frenchy Park is right across the street from my house and super fun for the pups. I treat and protect each dog as if they were my own and love them all unconditionally. FYI, I don’t introduce my pack to other dogs that we don’t know, to avoid any unwanted drama and to keep everyone safe. New dogs really shouldn’t be introduced while on leashes anyway. I speak the language of dogs and am confident around them always. I am always their alpha who provides a fun and safe space for my pack.

“Anaissa is a true dog person and was an excellent sitter for our dog. We’re on an extended road trip and our dog has been feeling a bit stressed. Anaissa wasn’t phased and introduced our dog to others slowly. She kept us updated throughout the day, and we picked up a tired and happy pup. I highly recommend her!”

“We brought our older dog with us to Santa Fe and realized that in order to see all the lovely art museums we needed to find someone to care for Zippy. Zippy has separation anxiety and we were worried about leaving him for an extended time. We had nothing to worry about. He really enjoyed his time with Victoria! He got to play with other dogs, watch the chickens, take walks. He was living his best life, while we were able to enjoy Santa Fe dog free. It was a win-win for everyone. I highly recommend Victoria for daycare.”

“Abby had a great time with Eliza and Alejandro and came home tuckered after plenty of walks and cuddles. I have them booked again for two different days next week also. I appreciated the photo updates. THANKS!!”
“Stephanie and her boys were everything I could have asked for in a pet sitter and Rover experience! 🐶💜 Stephanie was wonderful and knew how to be attentive to my recent rescue and slightly nervous pup, Bella. Bella settled in really quickly and had the best day. I was so happy to see how happy she was when I picked her up at the end of the day. I would highly recommend Stephanie for pet sitting services. I will definitely be reaching out to her again for pet sitting so Bella can have more best days! Thank you so much Stephanie! Bella and I are both so grateful for your standard of care and concern. 💜”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our little buddy today. We super appreciate you being able to take him last minute while we went on our adventure. Dominic is in great spirits, and we can tell he had a wonderful day with you. Thank you again, and we look forward to reaching out when we are back in Santa Fe.”

“Pawsitively a perfect experience! Jessica took this last minute request super early in the morning and took care of my pup as if he was her own. My pup had a blast playing with her furbabies and was in the BEST mood when I picked him up. Will 100% be using her again!”

“Our dog had great fun playing with the dogs at the sitter 😁. Laurie took them on a hike one day and our dog had a great time and was nice and tired out for a calm evening 😊. Lily was very excited to go back for her second day! You should be forewarned that her house is down a dirt road with ups and downs. Would definitely recommend this sitter for a social and energetic dog”

“My Chiweenie Bug practically jumps out of the window when we turn onto Melissa's street. Her 3 dogs are the cutest and took to my dog immediately. He comes home happy and tired, what more can you ask for? And she even gave me a recipe for the food she makes for her dogs, and Bug looooves it.”

“Teddy had a wonderful day with Michelle. We were very happy to find Michelle nearby our family near Santa Fe so we could go out hiking. We look forward to seeing Michelle and playing with CJ again on Monday!”

About: My husband and I have an Australian cattle dog and had a tabby cat who has crossed the rainbow road. I often care for my family members' dog when they are out of town. He requires special care, as he needs to take a few pills every day both day and night. This schedule is second nature to us. We enjoy being around our furry pals and will enjoy caring for yours too! They will be treated like our own pets and will benefit from being more socialized! I have a flexible schedule because I work from home and can easily adjust to your pets needs. I work a traditional schedule leaving my weekends especially open. I have a fenced in yard and our back door has a doggie door so your dog can go in and out as they please. We also have a large dog crate if your pet is kennel trained.
“Melinda took amazing care of our senior dog, Doster. He usually hates being away from us, but he was comfortable with her immediately and even went up with tail wagging to say goodbye. They had a successful & fun day, & we’re grateful for the excellent care. :)”

About: Pets growing up were 3 dogs Lacy, Maya and Frodo as well as many kitties. Oso was my Cat, we had him from the time I was 4-14years old. We also had a chicken coop we were responsible for, horses that were our landlords but that we fed, and a fish tank with guppies and sucker fish. My 1st gig watching someone else’s pet, was for an elderly woman at my church when I was about 12. Milo was an older, golden retriever. I walked him, cleaned his outside restroom area, fed, bathed, and blow-dryed him. Family and friends have always reached out to me for help over the years, I have cared for all pets. Rottweilers, pit bulls, huskies, small dogs, handicap animals, both cats and dogs. I am great with communicating and accustomed to following the routines their owners have set for them as I believe that is most respectful. My schedule is either 8am-1pm or 2-8pm. I have a 1hour lunch and am home otherwise. I usually have 2 days off a week so will also be home on those days. I have stone floors, no carpet, and live in a non-smoking apartment. I have a small backyard with dirt area and kennel where they usually take small potty breaks aside from walks and dog parks!
“Stevvi was great! Our dog pepper seemed to really love her, she’s quite a nervous dog with new people but warmed up really quickly, i felt like she was safe and wasn’t worrying all day! Would book again!”

“Allegra was a perfect host for our dog, Barley! We had to make kind of last minute plans and Allegra was very accommodating for our late daycare needs. She and her husband were super nice and clearly caring dog people, plus they have a very friendly dog who Barley got along with. We would recommend them to anyone!”

“Angel takes such great care of our pup! She’s quick to respond and flexible with our schedule. Can tell from the pictures she sends that our dog is happy and enjoys walks with Angel.”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of dogs for over 9 years and absolutely adore being around them. I can work on basic trainings for puppies, play hard with them, or give them the long walk they need. For senior dogs, I love to give them all the snuggles and pets they need :) seeing them happy makes me happy. Im currently working part time and have a very flexible work schedule, leaving plenty of time to let your dog out, play, or walk your pup during weekdays. Safety is huge when it comes to me watching your pup. Depending on your dog and safety protocols, I will follow them strictly (only allowed in a fenced yard, always leashed on a walk, etc).
About: Since I was five years old I’ve had a dog. At the age of seven my family moved to a ranch where at one time we had up to 15 catahoula/pitbull mixes, labradors, and German Shepherds. I also volunteered for two years at an animal shelter in Bryan, TX. I have dealt with several dogs of different demeanors as well as given first aid to dogs with various injuries. Rest assured your dog will be safe with me! Hi there! I’ve just moved to Santa Fe, and I would be more than happy to watch your furry friend. I am actively job hunting, so I will let you know if I have an interview scheduled. I have one active Labrador retriever who is well-tempered and trained so there will not be many dogs. If I have another dog coming on the date you requested I will let you know in advance. I have a fenced yard with artificial turf and one energetic, playful, and well-tempered Labrador retriever. She’s spayed and fully vaccinated (+ the bordetella vaccine) of course, and loves to play! No history of aggression or dog fights, and she is well trained.
About: I grew up in a household with cats, dogs, small mammals, exotic and domestic birds, reptiles, and fish. I have experience as both a short and long term pet/house sitter. A large portion of my life has been spent working at pet stores, aquariums, wildlife rehabilitation facilities and with animal trainers so I have good background knowledge surrounding a large variety of animal care. By trade I am a biologist with a focus in the marine sciences. As a full-time field biologist, the field part of my job doesn’t allow me time to have pets of my own. So between field jobs I greatly enjoy the opportunity to pet sit since I have lots of time to dedicate to your pet! I feel that pet sitting is a great way to get some animal time in while also helping out. I am very attentive, caring, trustworthy, and dedicated. Every home has a routine and flow all its own, one of the most important things a sitter can do is maintain that rythem while the pet parent is away, and give lots of extra love too. Thank you for taking the time to review my information, I would be thrilled to speak with you about how we can work together to meet you and your pets needs.
About: If your pet needs a new best friend… I’m your guy. I’ve loved animals literally my whole life! My first dog was a Husky who used to give me chaparoned rides in the backyard when I was a baby. Since then I’ve grown up with all kinds of pets, dogs, cats, bunnies, mice, hamsters, chickens, and animals have always just vibed with me! I bond really well with pets of all kinds, whether they’re shy, playful, energetic, or the type that just wants a chill person around. I do this because I genuinely love animals, and taking care of them makes me happy ! It’s something that feels natural and meaningful to me. If you choose me, I’ll treat your pet like they’re part of my own little pack, with patience, attention, and good energy. Whether it’s walks, hangs, feedings, or just being a safe presence while you’re away, I’m here to make it easy for both you and your pet. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m flexible and can work around you and your pets schedule. We’ll find a rhythm that works for both of us. Alongside pet sitting and house sitting, I offer energy healing sessions. Feel free to ask me more. I take care of pets in a way that feels natural for us. In your home, I stick to their usual schedule and make sure they get attention, company, and whatever they need to feel safe. I’ve got plenty of time to give, and I’m available for overnights if you’re going out of town.

About: I’ve taken care of my family friend’s dog for 7 years and have experience feeding, walking, playing with, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. I’m responsible, dependable, and enjoy spending time with animals. I’ll make sure your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. I work full-time during the week, but I’m available all day on Sundays and Mondays. Pet care fits well into my schedule, and I enjoy spending time with dogs. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. I have a secure fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can provide companionship if your pet is comfortable around other animals. I always prioritize safety, supervision, and making pets feel comfortable in a new environment. I will follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. If needed, I can also crate your dog to ensure they are safe and comfortable
About: I stand out as a pet sitter because of my personalized approach to each dog’s and cat’s unique needs. Whether it’s providing gentle care for senior pets, handling high-energy pups or playful cats with engaging activities, or helping with basic training for puppies or leash training for adventurous cats, I ensure every pet feels loved and comfortable. My experience includes recognizing signs of anxiety or stress in both dogs and cats, adapting to keep them happy and safe. Plus, my punctuality and dedication mean your pets receive consistent, attentive care every time. Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily routine. With two cats—one indoor and one outdoor—and two dogs of different sizes, I’m constantly engaging with their unique needs. Whether it’s ensuring my indoor cat has plenty of enrichment or managing my outdoor cat’s safe exploration, I prioritize their well-being. For my dogs, I balance their energy levels by taking them to the dog park regularly, where they can socialize and exercise. My experience caring for my own pets helps me understand the importance of meeting each animal’s specific needs with patience and love. I care for pets with the same love and attention I give my own. In my home, I provide a safe and comfortable environment where pets can relax, play, and feel secure. For dogs, this includes regular walks, playtime, and even trips to the dog park for exercise and socialization. Cats enjoy a mix of interactive play and quiet moments, depending on their temperament. In my clients’ homes, I follow their routines and preferences to ensure a seamless experience for the pets. This includes feeding on schedule, walking, litter box care, administering medications if needed, and giving plenty of affection. I also keep the home tidy and provide regular updates to reassure owners their pets are happy and well cared for.
About: I will treat your pet like royalty! I have a huge fenced in yard with trees and lots of room to run and play. I work from home and nothing makes me smile more than animals. The animals I watch over I give lots of love and attention, as though they were my own. That’s the honest care and love I bring to each new animal I meet. I've always loved animals. When I was a kid I thought for sure I’d be a vet, or animal researcher or zoologist so I quickly became my neighborhood dog walker, cat sitter, fish feeder, bird watcher, snake charmer, etc. the list could go on! Since then, I have enjoyed sitting for friends and family. I’ll never say no to hanging out with a fur ball. I have experience with small and big dogs. I am active, strong, able to lift 100+ pounds and I love to spend time to really get to know each animal's personality. (I'll give them some serious love and attention.) I will give baths, groom and administer meds with precision. Whatever your dogs unique needs are, I’ll meet them. I also have experience with injured animals and newborns (neighborhood kittens have a way of finding me.) Rest assured your dog will be in good, safe, loving hands. If you happen to have cats, look no further. I adore spending time with the feline kind. I’ve cared for several dogs, cats, horses and rabbits for the majority of my life and love animals. Depending on where you live, I love taking dogs for long walks, and know a lot of the Santa Fe parks or places to exercise - my favorite right now being: Rose Park, Smith Park and Frank S Ortiz Dog Park. Please let me know if your animal has any special needs or medications and instructions for feeding and/or bathing. Please only reach out if your dog is 100% house trained, older than one year and plays well with others. I am not able to dog sit dogs who are not house trained or have aggression issues.
“Svetlana was punctual and great with our dogs. I loved the updates and photos she sent during their walks. We appreciate having her nearby and potentially available even for last minute care or walks.”

About: I have a deep respect for animals, their autonomy and their neediness. I have been a caretaker to many walks of life including children, dogs, cats, rabbits and the elderly, throughout my life. I am devoted to treating all walks of life with love and respect and honoring all pet owners wishes for keeping their pet healthy and safe. I am a student enrolled in online school, so attending to needs is easily added into my daily schedule. I also am a single mother to 1 small child, and already equipped to be caregiving as a full time job! It’s something I love to do. Animals that are child friendly as a must, as well as pet owners. I love to be active and lengthy walks for dogs (or cats) will be a quality experience for me and the animal! I am attentive to the moods of animals and will be able to know if something is wrong. Safety and responsibility are my first modes of conduct.

About: I offer thoughtful, detail oriented pet care with a strong focus on consistency, safety, and communication. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, managing routines, and providing a calm presence for animals that may be anxious or sensitive to change. I am also comfortable with medication management. I take the responsibility of being in someone’s home seriously and aim to create a seamless experience both for pets and their owners. You can expect clear communication, reliability, and a high level of respect for your space. My dog, Tessie, is so important to me so I treat your pets with as much love and care that I would want her to have. My work experience includes firefighter/paramedic, ER nurse, clinic work, and am certified in Pet First Aid. I am the Clinical Director at a local free clinic. This allows me to have flexible but predictable hours each week. Because of this I can provide consistent, punctual visits with compassionate care for your pets. For house sitting I can make mid day visits so that your pets are not alone for longer than needed. I cater each experience to the needs of you and your pet. I prefer to have clear communication of your preferences so that I can ensure that you are as happy with the visit as your pets are. For house sitting, I stay in the home so pets can remain in their familiar space with minimal disruption. I follow their usual feeding, walking, and medication schedules, provide companionship throughout the day and evening, and ensure the home is cared for as well (lights, plants, mail, basic tidiness). My goal is to maintain a calm, consistent presence so pets feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away. For in home drop-ins, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or yard clean up, medications if needed, and quality time with each pet. I tailor each visit to the pet’s energy level and personality including playtime, short walks, or quiet companionship. I also provide updates after each visit so owners feel connected and reassured. For dog walking, I focus on safe, structured walks that match your dog’s pace and needs. I prioritize leash safety, positive reinforcement, and a calm walking experience. Walks can include neighborhood routes or familiar areas your dog enjoys, or local dog parks, and I always ensure they return home settled, hydrated, and comfortable.

“We could not be more grateful to have found Marlena for our first River experience! Especially on a last minute notice! Leaving our doggos with someone new is always a bit stressful, but she instantly won them (& us) over & treated our dogs like her own. Throughout the stay (overnight plus additional hours), Marlena was incredibly sincere & honest with us about how our dogs were doing. She provided detailed updates, photos & videos, we so appreciated her open communication. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such a safe, capable, & loving hands. Our dogs just loved her so much. We will absolutely be booking with Marlena again!”
