“We will definitely be hoping that Ryan is available the next time we need someone to stay! Everything went great. Animals loved him, great communication. Could not have gone better. Thank you so much Ryan!”
About: I have owned dogs all of my life and understand that they are family members and should be treated as such! I love all dogs from big to small and young to old. While I do not have any pets of my own right now, I would love to help care for yours whether it be feeding, walking, playing, loving on them or more. I am currently off for the summer leaving me plenty of time to care for your pets. From August to May, I work 2 days a week so I will still have plenty of availability. I have two daughters who live with me part time ages 9 and 7 who love pets as well. I would love to care for your pets as you see fit in your home! Just let me know their daily routine and I can accommodate.
“Svetlana was great with our 3 pugs. She sent pics and video while we were out, which really put us at ease since this was our first time working with her. She stayed at our home to watch our babies and she left the house just as it was when she arrived. During the meet and greet, all 3 dogs went straight to Svetlana without hesitation. One of our pugs is more skittish around strangers, so this was a great sign to start. They all seemed to love her right away, and still seemed to when we returned from our vacation. She even brought in and secured some packages that we forgot were arriving during our vacation. We'll definitely be working with Svetlana again in the near future.”

“Laurie is amazing! She is such a great communicator and made the whole process super stress-free. Ellie really loved her too and seemed almost sad it was me walking thru the door and not Laurie!”

“Jerrett did a great job with our house and two pups during an 5-day overnight stay. He’s very responsible, communicative and shared lots of photo/video updates. Our vacation was stress-free as we knew everything was going well at home. Would highly recommend him to care for your pets!”

“Thanks to Juan for looking after our dog and home while we were on vacation. He provided regular updates and gave us piece of mind while we were far away for an extended trip.”

“Ali was great with my dog Oliver. He has a strong personality, and he doesn't like it when I go away, so he can be aloof with a dog sitter. Ali was really good at taking things at Oliver's pace and understanding what he needed. She also communicated well with me while I was away, sending pictures and updates regularly. I would definitely book her again.”

“Susana took such great care of our pup earlier this year that we rebooked her to stay with our dog, Remi, and my parents' dog, Winnie, when we went out of town for a family event. She's such a wonderful sitter. She was in touch each day, letting us know the boys were doing great, and she sent us pictures, too. Her communication was comforting and put my parents at ease that Winnie was having a great time even though they were away. We appreciate Susana so much and will definitely request her help again the next time we leave town.”

“Stephanie is AMAZING! By far the best sitter we have found through Rover ?? Stephanie is super attentive to your dogs, sends tons of photos and updates, and checks in each time she pops over which helps put me at ease when leaving our dogs at home. She was super excited to hang and play fetch with our four babies and we couldn't be happier and we are sure the dogs loved it too ? We look forward to having Stephanie watch our babies again, thank you!!”

“Bianca was outstanding! She house/pet sat for our two dogs while we were away for 10 days. We received daily updates and photos. She let us know details about the dogs and our house was perfect when we returned. Her experience with animals and understanding of behaviors is clear. Would highly recommend her!!”

“Paloma was so wonderful - my cat loved her! Our cat is a bit high maintenance and needs a lot of attention, sometimes acts out, and is happiest when the sitter can stay at our place with her. Paloma was so attentive and really met all of her needs. She sent updates with photos and made us feel so at ease that our cat and our home were in good hands. Came home to a happy cat and clean house. Would recommend Paloma highly to anyone!”

“It was the first time using Eliza for overnight sitting and she was fantastic! She kept us updated with pictures and left our house clean after the visit was done. 5/5 and will be using her again :)”

“Abigail helped us in a very hectic moment. We needed someone for a few hours and she replied within a minute of the request. She was willing to FaceTime and chat and headed to our place immediately. She was also very responsive during the sit. It eased a lot of anxiety I had (unrelated to her). I highly recommend Abigail.”

“Hailey took great care of the house and the dogs during our trip. She was communicative and sent pics and videos now and then to show us how they were doing. We felt confident leaving everything in her hands and would certainly book her again. Thank you Hailey!”

“Karen-Joyce is a gem. I live out of town on some acreage, down a dirt road, with lots of animals and goings on. She handled everybody with ease, caught on quickly to house rules, and showed just general confidence and sense on how to run the house. I felt confidence when I left on my trip! When I came home, everybody felt happy, settled, and the house was clean and organized. She is adaptable, communicative, responsive, capable... I strongly recommend her. Thank you, Karen-Joyce!”

“Shelly was awesome. Attentive and my dogs loved her. I don't think they missed us being away at all. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a quality pet sitter. Linda Small”

About: Ever since I was young, I have loved being around animals and helping take care of them, especially dogs. Watching dogs has always come naturally to me because I am patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. What makes me different from other dog sitters is that I treat every dog like they are my own by giving them attention, affection, exercise, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and needs, so I take the time to get to know them and build trust. My love for animals motivates me to provide the best care possible and create a fun, caring environment for every pet I watch. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I enjoy spending time with animals and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give them the attention they need. I am organized and responsible, so I can easily plan my days around feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and check-ins. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping them on their normal routine as much as possible. I provide fresh food and water, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention and affection. I also make sure pets get plenty of exercise and companionship so they stay happy and relaxed while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I respect their space and carefully follow any instructions they leave regarding feeding schedules, medications, routines, or special care needs. My goal is always to create a calm, caring environment where pets feel comfortable and well cared for.
“Kat is the BEST!!! Our dog and cat adore this sitter. Kat sent pictures daily of the animals. Very grateful to have found this super reliable animal lover. After being gone for a week, didn't feel stressed at all leaving our home and pets.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
