About: 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Hi, I'm Kiley! I operate a small cottage bakery full-time, which gives me excellent flexibility throughout the week! My primary baking days are Thursdays and Fridays. Outside of those specific baking windows, my schedule is completely open and flexible for midday walks, drop-in visits, and plenty of focused attention for your pets on weekends and early-to-mid-week days. Because I run an active home kitchen, I provide care exclusively in your pet's familiar, comfortable home environment. My background in local law enforcement communications means I prioritize home security, strict adherence to instruction, and safety above all else. Your keys, home access codes, and pet safety are handled with the highest level of professional responsibility. I treat your space with complete respect while ensuring your pets remain safe, happy, and relaxed.
About: I’ve had plenty of dogs my entire life as well as taken care of friends and families dogs. Overnight, check ins or walking. I love walking dogs especially and playing with all animals. I will provide a safe, caring, and loving environment for your pets so you’re worry free while away from them! Currently between jobs and am a full time online college student. So I am pretty flexible!! If something doesn’t work i’ll just make that clear but I do not have many scheduled things in my day to day. I don’t mind doing feeding, walking, play time! Also don’t mind light clean up if they make a mess while you are gone. My dogs are kind of crazy so I understand messes happen! My dogs have an open back yard but if your dog is trained to walk I will be happy to take them out that way. My dogs get plenty of play time mainly with each other but i’ve done plenty of play time with them myself and can incorporate that with you dogs if they require play time! I also have dealt with older and sick dogs so I know how to be gentle and handle that. I have also had my own cat and watched others, I adore cats. Mine was sick for a while so i’m familiar with oral medication for cats and soothing cats’ anxieties as mine suffered heavily from unknown anxiety.
“This is my second time using Kaitlynn and will continue to book her for my pet care. She is prompt, responsible, and truly does go above and beyond when it comes to caring for my dog and for the home while I’m away. I never have to worry about communication or lack of it. She is great about check in photos and notes and will ask questions if needed.”

“Ashleigh was such a good pet sitter! She took car of my dog, Molly and my iguana, Fernando for the holidays and because she’s a vet tech I knew if anything went wrong she would be able to help my babies. She was punctual and sent pictures every time she was at my house which I loved because we worry about them when we’re gone. Her prices are amazing and we recommend her for all your pet sitting needs! We will definitely be using her again, thank you for taking such good care of them!”

“Sophia was AMAZING! She snuggled my boys like they were her own, treated them so well, and loved on them! She sent me pictures and videos of them every day! (Mad props to her since I’m a crazy dog mom and missed them everyday!) she also gave them their allergy medicine which was incredibly helpful!”

About: I have babysat family members pets for as long as i could remember. Have dealt with aggressive scared dogs and scared cats. I’ve volunteered in helping animals plenty of times. I have 1 job work 5 days a week but live close to my job to visit pets on break and also have plenty of time to take care of pets have nothing after work. I am very soft spoken, and loving about animals. I love affection and kisses from pets. I treat pets as part of the family and they will be allowed on my bed/furniture.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I have cared for them when they have been at there very best and worst and given them the most love. I’m currently a senior in high school but I only go for a couple hours a day. I also work part time at before and after care. I’m mostly looking for times to fill in during my free time, including during break and over the summer. I will make sure that everything thing is safe in the area for that pet. And they have everything they need during my time with them.

“This was our first time with Rover, and I could not have asked for a better sitter for our dogs and house. Rochelle made a real and true bond with our two dogs. She made a personal connection with our pups. I want to emphasize that she really cared. Rochelle sent us daily pictures and videos that brought so many smiles to our faces while we were away. Her care took away our separation anxieties. This allowed to relax and enjoy our trip rather worry about how things were at home. If I could give Rochelle more than 5 stars, I would do that.”

“If I could have given Rebecca more stars I would have. I was leaving my almost 16 yr old dog for a week (a vacation booked a year in advance and to be honest I didn't think I would need a pet sitter) . Chance has mobility and cognitive issues and we hadn't been apart overnight from each other in years. Rebecca came and met myself and Chance. She was very open and asked questions to understand Chance's needs and my wants in terms of care. She was FANTASTIC!!! She was meticulous about his schedule and care. I told her if she had any ideas to improve his life to let me know and she did have a few suggestions that have helped. She stayed in touch with texts and pictures throughout the week. My house was in as good if not better condition than when I left. Chance gained back the 2 pounds he had recently lost before the trip as well as an extra pound. I can't recommend Rebecca highly enough. She truly cares and loves your pet as if they are her own. I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again.”

About: Hi! I'm Reis, a dependable and active animal lover with both professional and personal pet care experience. I previously worked at a dog boarding facility where I supervised doggie daycare, monitored group play, and helped ensure dogs stayed safe, happy, and well cared for throughout the day. This experience taught me how to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and energy levels. In addition to my professional experience, I have provided overnight house-sitting and pet-sitting services, caring for pets in their own homes and maintaining their regular routines while their owners were away. I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and secure, and I strive to provide attentive, loving care that gives both pets and owners peace of mind. As someone with an active lifestyle, I enjoy spending time outdoors and can provide plenty of exercise, walks, playtime, and companionship. Whether your pet needs a long walk, a weekend sitter, or just some extra attention during the day, I'll treat them with the same care and respect I would give my own. I currently work a part-time job that allows me to have a lot of flexibility. I am able to work in all of Richmond and surrounding areas as well. When caring for pets in a client's home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure while you're away. Through my experience working at a dog daycare facility, overnight house-sitting, and caring for both a senior dog and a young dog of my own, I've learned that every pet has different needs and energy levels. Whether your pet prefers a relaxed walk and extra patience or lots of activity and play, I'll make sure they receive personalized care and feel safe, happy, and loved.

About: Hi! My name is Ali I’m a dependable and caring pet sitter with 4 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats in their own homes. I know how important it is to keep your pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine while you’re away. I’m happy to provide walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, potty breaks, litter box cleaning, medication (if needed and instructions are provided), and lots of love and attention. I also treat every home with respect by keeping it clean, bringing in mail or packages, watering plants if needed, and leaving everything just as you left it. I’m currently a radiology student, so I’ll be away for a good portion of the day on weekdays. Because of this, I’m the best fit for pets that are comfortable being alone for several hours during the day. When I’m home, I’ll make sure your pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I understand that trusting someone with both your pets and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care so you can enjoy your time away knowing everything is in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a radiology student, my schedule varies throughout the year depending on classes and clinicals. I’ll always communicate my availability well in advance, so you’ll know exactly when I’ll be away. I believe in being transparent and reliable, and I’ll only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for while you’re away. When I’m caring for your pets in your home, my priority is keeping their routine as normal as possible so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any other special care your pet requires. I love spending quality time with pets, whether that means going on walks, playing with their favorite toys, or simply relaxing with them and giving them lots of attention. I treat every home with the same respect I would my own. I’ll keep your home clean and tidy, bring in mail or packages, water plants if requested, and make sure everything is secure. If you’re booking me for overnight care, I’ll stay in your home so your pets can remain in a familiar environment and have companionship throughout the evening and overnight. I’ll also send regular photo and text updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.

“Liza was great! Super flexible and great communication. My dogs got into a scuffle (no fault of Liza’s whatsoever!) and she handled it great, communicated with me immediately and kept me up to date. My farm and dogs are not the easiest to handle and I was very happy with how Liza managed them all and was incredibly respectful of my home”
“Helena was absolutely AMAZING!!! This was our first time using Rover and the first time we left our dog overnight. She sent us pictures and updates throughout the time we were gone, showing just how relaxed and happy our dog was in her care. When he whined about sleeping in his crate, she kindly let him share the bed with her (with our approval, of course!). He even seemed disappointed when we came home 😉. We cannot recommend Helena more highly!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 885 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carters Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carters Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carters Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carters Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carters Corner. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
