“At this point, I am so relieved and thankful to say that Katy has become part of our extended family… Our communication is always productive and very cat-centric, and my cats’ state of total relaxation and calm upon my return says so much about the safe care they received while I’m away. All love all around Thank you again Katy!!”

“We used Rover to find Mike to feed our cat while we were on vacation for a week. He was very thorough and kept us updated the whole time. He was very trustworthy and detail oriented. I would highly recommend Mike for pet care.”

“Lucas was great, talkative, and friendly. Asked all the right questions and sent us great photos of our cat. He made us super comfortable, and truly one of the best pet sitters we have had. We can’t wait to work with Lucas again, 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

About: I’ve taken care of large and small dogs for the past couple of years. I started with family and friends animals and have recently started watching other peoples animals and I really enjoy it. I’ve walked, bathed, feed and swam with pets. I work part time at a movie theater and have a flexible schedule and can request days off if need be or work in the morning rather than night and vise versa if you need morning care. I Can crate dogs if needed, I won’t feed your pet anything unless okayed by owner first. I live to take pictures of animals so I can provide updates if needed. I enjoy walking and running with animals so if they need a walk outside or a ball thrown around a fenced yard I would be happy to do so.
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and have taken care of friends and neighbors pets for many years. I am very punctual and always make sure your pets receive the best care, and lots of love and cuddles. I am currently UVM nursing alum with lots of free time on my hands this summer to walk, feed, play with, and let out pets. My availability should be accurate, but sometimes changes. I always treat other’s homes with care, and ensure to leave them better then I found them. I make a point to ensure every environment is safe and comfortable for pets. Safety is always my number one priority, and I can ensure all pets are safe while under my care.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for many years and grew up with dogs and have a dog. I treat them as my own and am a helicopter mom when it comes to looking out for them every step of the way. I communicate and give all the updates and make sure your furbabies are all set and good before I leave for my next walk. Safety and care is my number one priority. I’m currently available on Friday's but hoping to be available Monday to Friday. I’m currently working but looking to making walking a full time job. I make sure each dog I visit has a good walk and does their business. Seeing they have enough water before I go or if they need breakfast or lunch. I give them lots of cuddles and go by their pace on what they need.
About: I have been a lifelong animal lover, growing up with both dogs and cats and continuing to adopt and care for them throughout my adult life. Caring for animals has always been a natural and joyful part of my home. I have experience with daily routines, including feeding, walking, administering basic care, and providing consistent companionship. I also had a beloved lovebird growing up, which gave me experience tending to smaller pets with gentleness and attention. What sets me apart is my patience, kindness, and genuine heart for animals. While I do not have formal training experience, I am consistent, attentive, and willing to reinforce basic training practices with calm encouragement. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with safety, affection, and respect at the center of their care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am available most weekdays, especially during school hours, which allows me to provide dependable daytime walks, check-ins, feedings, and companionship. I tailor my care to each pet’s needs and routine. In a client’s home, I maintain their regular schedule for feedings, walks, playtime, and any special care, while keeping the home tidy and respected. If in a client's home, I am willing to water plants, bring in mail, and assist with regular maintenance care. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a calm, safe space with close supervision, consistency, and plenty of affection. My goal is always to help pets feel secure, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
“Madalyn has been absolutely amazing, she has been very responsive and helpful with my dog's needs. She's also been very flexible with any changes. She's been very responsible and we're happy to continue using her services anytime we travel”

“Natalie did a fantastic job. I had never worked with a pet sitter before but I felt completely comfortable with her taking care of my two cats. She sent detailed notes about each check in and lots of photos. Seriously gave me such peace of mind!”

About: Grew up with a senior dog as well as sitting for all of my neighbors. Experience with all equipment (harnesses, leaders, muzzles, etc.) Available 24/7 for whatever care you need, want to make everyone happy and comfortable! :) I just graduated from Fordham in May and am fully remote for my internship this summer, so I am around all the time for whatever needs you and your family might have! When house sitting, I can stay in your home full-time if necessary to keep your dog's routine as normal as possible. I follow your feeding schedule, walk schedule, and any specific instructions you leave, I believe consistency is key to keeping dogs calm and comfortable while you're away. I'm comfortable with all walking equipment including harnesses, gentle leaders, and muzzles, and always keep dogs secure on leash. I treat your home with the same respect I'd want for my own. About: I have grown up around animals my entire life, and was often asked by neighbors and friends to watch their pets on vacation. Along with my own experiences owning several varieties of pets including cats, fish, and geckos, I also have professional experience from years working at different pet stores, which broadened my knowledge to dogs, birds, guinea pigs, and other small and exotic animals. Simply put, your pets are mine for the time they are in my care, and I will treat them with the same love and attention that I give my own because I know how much pets enrich our lives. I'm currently self-employed, so I have a flexible schedule to play and care for your pets. I am also available for overnight stays and can do general house care as well such as light cleaning and watering plants. I do not board, but I tailor my care based off of the care you are already providing for your pet, so there is as little change to their normal routine as possible.

“Emily is just GREAT! She is always on time. Communicates effectively and really shows immense interest in my dog Scooby. She always writes a lengthy honest review about their journey together. I look forward to hiring her more in the future!”

“Megan is amazing! Silas is a high energy guy and she handled him beautifully. I especially liked her communication with me and felt very comfortable having her come into my home to take care of Silas.”

“Rachel was very helpful with my two cats and had great communication, and even called to ask if anyone had been in the house between visits when things didn't look the same (the cats had moved a curtain). Her diligence was greatly appreciated. Would certainly hire again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Carolina
Katy was wonderful with our four cats. Very attentive and communicative.. we appreciate her very much! It put us at ease while we were away. Additionally, two of our shy girls took to her right away and even let her administer medicine. We will definitely use her in the future 🤗

Katy is the absolute sweetest on top of being an amazing professional! She was able to drop in for us during a last minute out of state visit, and took such good care of my sweet pup. As an anxious dog mom she gave me such peace of mind!! If I ever need a dog sitter again I will absolutely reach out to Katy first!

Katy was amazing! Leaving your pets, especially when you’re far away is stressful, but I knew Katy was taking such great care of our cats. She was very responsive and communicative. She spent time to get to know each cat and their personalities and I appreciate how well cared for they were when we were away. We would absolutely rebook with Katy if we go away again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 847 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Carolina. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carolina. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
