About: I don't just watch dogs—I welcome them into my family. Every pup receives personalized attention, a safe environment, and lots of love while you're away. I work for the Red Clay School District, so I have weekends, holidays, and summers off. My typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and my school is very close to home, which allows me to come home during my lunch breaks. I make it a priority not to leave the pups home alone for more than four hours at a time, so they get plenty of attention and care throughout the day. Your dog will be welcomed into my home like family. I have a fully fenced yard, two friendly Shih-Poos who love making new friends, and a calm, loving environment. I'll follow your pet's routine, including feeding, medications, potty breaks, and any special instructions, so they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home while you're away.
“Thank you for taking such great care of Lady! We could tell by the pictures provided that she had a great time playing in the backyard and she looks forward to hanging out with you again soon!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover and an ICU nurse, so I understand how important staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is—and that goes for our dogs too! Although I don’t currently have a pet of my own, I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, from Dobermans to Yorkshire Terriers. I truly love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m happy to tailor my care to whatever works best for you and your pup. I live in an apartment, but I’m surrounded by parks and great walking areas, so I can take your dog on walks around your neighborhood or to nearby parks for some extra exercise and enrichment. I’m also a great fit for dogs who may not do well around other pets, as I’m happy to give them one-on-one attention in a comfortable environment. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! I’ll follow your preferred routine and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away. I’m also happy to send as many photos and videos as you’d like to keep you updated and give you peace of mind. Please feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d love to meet you and your furry friend! 🐾❤️ I am surrounded by many parks, so taking advantage of the weather and getting my steps in with your dog is one way to make them feel comfortable and making sure their physical needs are met. I am trustworthy and transparent when taking care of pets. I treat them like my own while following any special care they need! I am happy to send updates through photos or videos as well.
“3 of our cats are extremely shy and won't come out for anyone, but anytime Izzy watches them, all 4 come out to see her. This speaks volumes as to how Izzy interacts with them and the care she provides. She does an outstanding job and always sends pictures and updates. We highly recommend Izzy as a pet sitter and will continue using her for all of our future trips.”

“Shanisa has both boarded my dogs and did a drop in when I was late for a dinner. She is reliable and makes sure to center the comfort of my pups. She understands that my dogs are my world and treats them well.”

“Kara is Amazing!!!!! Our dogs are large, energetic, and can be quite a handful but Kara cared for our dogs with grace and expertise!!! Kara truly loves dogs and that shines through with every visit!! She went above and beyond our expectations and we couldn’t be happier with her service! We will only use Kara from here on out!”

About: I’m confident handling leashes, following routines, and paying close attention to my surroundings to keep your dog safe. Most importantly, I’ll treat your dog with the same care, affection, and respect that I give my own pets, ensuring every walk is a fun and positive experience. Caring for animals is already part of my everyday life. As a pet owner myself, I’m used to planning my day around feeding, playtime, and making sure pets are happy and comfortable. I enjoy being active, so walks and drop-in visits fit naturally into my routine before or after work and on weekends. I genuinely love spending time with animals, so pet care is something I look forward to—not just another task on my schedule. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is keeping them comfortable by sticking to their normal routine. I’ll follow all care instructions closely, whether that’s feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box or potty breaks, medication (if needed and discussed), or simply giving them companionship. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect I would my own and send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Hi, we’re Bree (22) and Nick (23)! We have loved and cared for animals our entire lives. Growing up, our homes were always filled with pets, ranging from dogs and cats to hedgehogs and lizards! Because of this, we are incredibly comfortable with all kinds of personalities, energy levels, and unique care needs. We absolutely love all animals and will do everything to make them feel safe, happy, and right at home when you’re away. When your pet is with us, they will get lots of attention, plenty of playtime, and a schedule that follows your requests. We promise to send you daily photo updates so you never have to worry. We can't wait to meet your furry family members! Bree: I will be the primary person taking care of your pets! As a graduate student and a part-time substitute teacher, my schedule is predictable. I have class Wednesday and sometimes work weekdays depending on my course load. Fridays-Sundays I always have full availability! Nick: Nick has a full time job, so he will be available to help out when not working! Safety is my absolute top priority. I always ensure that doors, gates, and windows are closed before letting any animal roam. When we go for walks, pets are securely leashed at all times, and I am always aware of my surroundings. I ensure all hazardous items and human foods are stored far out of reach. For peace of mind, I provide clear communication and send regular photo and text updates throughout the day!
“When Dani and Mello met what a relief and comfort. She truly loves animals. Mello looked so happy around her. Every time she came to the house she alerted us. Gave us details of her visit with him and an alert was made when she left the house. I am definitely using her again. The Rover app made everything easy. Thank you both!”

About: Hey! My name is Conan and Im a veterinary medicine student. I love working with animals of all types and sizes and I'd love to meet your friend! I have experience fostering and volunteering at animal shelters, including everything from dogs, cats, bottle-fed babies, elderly kitties, reptiles, ducks, chickens, special-needs dogs/cats, and birds. I have a few years of experience dog walking and I have house sat for people with all different pets & for varying amounts of time. I also have two cats (North age 8 & Marcel age 4) and a leopard gecko (Sandwich age 3) of my own! They are my best friends and whole world. I'm currently going to Vet school full time several days during the week, but I'm available Friday through Monday for bookings. When house sitting I can spend as much time as is needed in the home for walks, playtime, any cleanups, potty breaks, etc. But I do prefer to sleep in my own home because of my two cats who need me at night. However I am flexible and if your pet has a specific need or doesn't do well being alone certain times of day we can work to accomodate that. Your pet's safety is a non negotiable for me, it is so important to me that your pet feels comfortable with me no matter what we're doing. Establishing a bond with an animal can be the most rewarding experience in the world! When talking about safety with any pet, I take a precautious approach with anything that could become an 'oops!' or a 'hey you, get that out of your mouth!' moment. So I will always take precautions with anything being left out unmonitored like toys, food, anything chewable, stringy, or soft toys, etc. I never want to have to think twice about a preventable accident with your pet, so I always take the time to keep everyone safe. This goes especially for walks, your dog or cat's safety is always going to be at the front of my mind when interacting with any other furry friends nearby, as it is always better to be safe than sorry. Every pet needs a different relationship approach, and different play styles! There are some pets who just want to cuddle, ones who need specific play-styles to be interested, and others who need someone up to the task of frizbee-ing the Tasmanian Devil out of them! I know personally one of my cats only wants to lazily swat at one specific toy he keeps losing, and the other wants to run and leap around for 20 minutes straight. I am dedicated to learning what your pet really likes so they have a great time with me, and you can go to work, over a friends, or on vacation without a worry that they living their best life.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
