“My golden retriever Oakley always has the best time! Amanda & Scott send lots of updates and it feels like Oakley is part of the family during his visits.”

“Lauryn is a sweet, caring individual. I couldn't have asked for someone better!! She loved my girls and treated them like her own!! I got pictures and videos every day, which set my heart at ease. I will definitely use her again!! 🥰”

“Ms. Crystal was so kind, loving and patient with our tiny 3 month old Teddy! Puppies require a lot of love and attention as they are like sponges soaking everything in at a fast pace. They are also a lot more work than a trained adult dog. Ms. Crystal treated Teddy like her very own “grand dog”. She sent pictures and videos throughout the weekend to give us a glimpse of their day and to reassure us he was doing very well. I’m a meticulous person and she followed all of teddy’s care instructions. She even provided us with tips as new puppy parents. He was calm and relaxed when we picked him up and Ms Crystal even gave him a new toy that he loves! We are so happy we found her! We look forward to booking her first years to come!”

“We boarded our cockapoo with Jared for 6 nights. Our dog loves people and is very interactive and playful, with high energy, so we wanted a sitter who would be good with him. Jared turned out to be a good match. He was easy going and attentive to Griffin’s needs. Jared communicated with us well and sent pictures of Griffin almost daily to let us know how he was doing. We would highly recommend Jared and will book another stay for Griffin in the future.”

“Cristen and her whole family were absolutely amazing with my Norman!! Sent updates regularly and treated him as their own. I couldn’t be more appreciative of them!!”

“Erin and the family were great. I needed a sitter for Lyla on short notice and fortunately they were available. The day I picked Lyla up, she slept most of the rest of the day. I took that as a sign that she had a fun time. I would book them again if I have another occasion.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Pet Sitter! Rodney did an absolutely fantastic job taking care of our baby, Lucille! He sent us daily updates and pictures and stayed in constant communication, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. We were especially impressed by how quickly he bonded with our four-legged fur baby and how well he cared for her. We couldn't recommend Rodney more highly and will absolutely use him again. Thank you, Rodney!”

“Robin and Kyle (and their toddler) loved on Pixie and made her feel relaxed and comforted. I got a few pictures of Pixie sitting on a lap and even one of her sleeping beside their own dog. So the environment must have been calm and positive for all those things to happen. Strongly recommend.”

“During a time when I had to be out of town for almost a month and my family could not keep my dog because of other obligations, Christene agreed to keep my sweet dog for this extended period of time. Elly seemed to be having a wonderful time in each of the daily photos that Christene sent me. I think Elly made herself completely at home even with other new animals that were boarding also on various occasions. I would definitely recommend her services and would happily take Elly there again, if the occasion arises.”

“Emily was amazing with my cat Juno! She was flexible with scheduling and helped me get Juno into her kennel (easier said than done). Emily also made sure Juno was well fed and gave me an update on how she did during her stay. As a new cat dad, I really appreciated how friendly Emily was!”

“Elisabeth did a fantastic job taking care of our older dog. She does a great job communicating and gave us daily updates. We will definitely use her again. Thank you Elisabeth!”
“Tameka was an amazing caregiver for my two weenie dogs! I was so happy to be able to keep them together in a lovely home environment. Tameka was very attentive to my dogs needs and provided me with lots of updates and cute photos. Thank you Tameka!”

“This was my first experience leaving any of my animals with a stranger. 10 minutes after I met Jessica, I didn’t feel I was leaving him with a stranger any longer! Her and her family treated my little family member (Highway) like a family member. I am very pleased with my Rover and Jessica experience.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Capahosic
Our pup had such a great time with Jennifer and her family! For a last minute request over the holidays, Jennifer replied quickly and was excited to host our dog. Jennifer cared for our dog above and beyond what we expected with long walks for lots of sniffs multiple times throughout the day, lots of play time with her dogs, quiet time on the couch, and lots of love! She’s a great communicator and sent lots of photos of our pup having fun while we were away! Thanks so much Jennifer!!

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Capahosic.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
