“Snowflake was well taken care of for the day while we got to explore the not so dog friendly parts of San Antonio. Breanna was very responsive, friendly, and flexible making it a great experience for us out of towners!”

“My boy Paco had a great day with Juan and his dog. It was Paco's first time away from home other than going to the groomer. Juan and his family took great care of him and communicated with me throughout the day.”

“She cares just like family. She takes such good care of Quatro 💞. He loves going to her home. It’s clean and tidy which is very important to me. It brings me peace that I know that Quatro is being taken care of in such an excellent manner.”

“Mr. Jeffrey has taking care of our pup a couple of times now and he is always super respectful and nice. He always answers our messages right away and when we pick up our dog we always find him happy and well taken cared of. We will definitely keep using his services in the near future and recommend him 100%”

“Katie, her wife, and their three four-legged assistants are such an amazing team! I can be a helicopter pawrent but I knew that my pup was in safe, knowledgeable, and loving hands off the bat. Katie sent photos throughout the service and my pup was having tons of fun all the way until pick-up. They have a large yard for the pups to sunbathe in and run around. We spoke at the end of the service and they gave me a run down of how everything went and I greatly appreciated that especially since it helps me get to know how my pup is while I’m away. Overall, my pup had a great time and I had a peace of mind while I was away from him. They are the sweetest humans and pups!”

“I cannot say enough great things about Dawn’s doggie day care! They are the kindest people who love my pup as much as I do (which I wasn’t sure was even possible)! When I drop my puppy off, I know he is going to receive all the love and attention he needs and the picture updates are frequent and wonderful...I end up showing my friends all the pictures because he looks like he is having so much fun! I HIGHLY recommend this sitter!”

“This couple is so great with Luna and very professional when it comes to her care. Top tier worry free services for my dog during my busy season is so much appreciated!!”

“Kristen is so amazing! She is so caring, knowledgeable, and flexable when it comes to taking care of our puppy Atlas, we appreciate Kristen so much. Atlas always has such a great time and we love all the updates we receive throughout the day as well! Special thanks to Kristen and her family for always being our puppies home away from home. :)”

“Ms. Shannon is so nice and accommodating! She immediately agreed to watch our dog and kept us updated during his stay. We look forward to keep using her services in the near future and highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Pamela was great with our two fur babies. She sent videos to let us know how things were going on their first play date. She made us feel very comfortable and took great care of Daisy and Dewey.”

“My pup loved her home away from home. She gets the wiggles when I mention "Celeste." It's reassuring Brandy was loved on and cared for just as she would be in my home. I won't take her anywhere else.”

“Our baby was so excited to see April and her babies. She completely forgot about me when she saw her. April always takes the best care of our fur baby. There isn’t a single person I trust more than her! 🥹”

About: I’m a huge dog lover and come from a military family. Growing up, I learned a lot about love, compassion, and what it’s like to move to a new place and start over. I know how scary and unfamiliar that can feel, and I want every dog in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. ❤️ I have two fur babies of my own, Lilly and Mattie, who are a huge part of our family. Lilly is my sweet blonde girl, and Mattie is my big brown girl who thinks she’s a lap dog. 😂 They are both very loving and enjoy meeting new furry friends. My sister is also in the military, so I often help with her fur babies when she can’t take them to appointments or needs them to stay with me. Her sweet dog Ollie was a special part of our family, but sadly we lost him to severe cancer. He is forever missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️🐾 I give every dog the same amount of love, attention, and patience. I always give 100% and then some because taking care of dogs isn’t just a job to me—it’s something I genuinely love and have a passion for. 🥰 I’ll never want you to second-guess whether your dog is in good hands. I love sending pictures, updates, and little moments from their day so you can see how they’re doing while you’re away. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, cuddles, or an outdoor adventure, I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own. ❤️🐶 I work as a special needs assistant teacher during the week. My significant other works from home with our dog, Lilly, so your pup will have someone home with them during the day. I’ll spend time with them before and after work, and my significant other can keep them company, play with them, and give them lots of love while I’m at work. 🐶💕 I currently have two dogs, Lilly and Mattie. Lilly is my sweet blonde fur baby and was a shelter dog, so she holds a very special place in my heart. Mattie is my big brown girl, but she is such a sweetheart and very gentle—she truly thinks she’s a small dog! 🥰 You may also see Ollie, the black dog, in some of my photos. Sadly, we lost him to severe cancer, and I miss him very much. He was such a special part of our family. ❤️ We truly love the dogs we care for as if they were our own and want every pup to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with us. 🐶💕
“Debe was beyond amazing and cared for my Sammy as I would. I liked the great communication and photos/videos I received. My visit to San Antonio was great and knowing my lil guy was in good hands while I explored the city made it even better. I would recommend Debe to anyone. Thank you so so much for taking care of Sammy in your home. Also glad he had buddies to play with as well.”

“Thank you very much Ronny As soon as we got there Ruby took a liking to you, we were able to leave with confidence knowing that she was in good hands. thank you for the pic where Ruby is enjoying another puppy there. We will definitely use your services again.”

“Rufus is great! Highly responsive and very friendly. My Bella enjoyed her time with Rufus and his dog Lonely. She was well cared for and was tired out after her stay.”

“Stefanie was very nice. I had an emergency, and Stefanie replied almost 10 minutes after I put the request and I drop off my dog 15 minutes after. she was great!!”

About: I've been a lifelong dog owner and have cared for dogs most of my life. I've frequently dog-sat for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, administering medications when needed and providing lots of attention and playtime. I work from home full-time, so your dog will receive plenty of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. My partner is retired and also home most of the time, so there is almost always someone here with the pets. Because of this, dogs are rarely left alone and get lots of care, playtime, and comfort during their stay. Dogs under 40 lbs. please. We provide a calm, safe, and welcoming environment and follow each dog’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. Our home has a fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy time outside. We also have a friendly 5-year-old dog who is low-energy and well socialized. She enjoys the company of other dogs but is also respectful of dogs who prefer their own space. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to us. We introduce dogs slowly, supervise interactions, and treat every dog in our home like part of the family. We are also happy to send photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
