About: I've owned dogs my entire life and have pet-sat for friends, neighbours and family. I am able to accommodate puppies and senior animals. Brushing and bathing are negotiable. I do not groom. My schedule is flexible. I can normally accommodate you with a bit of notice. Usually, any time after 9:00 is fine. I'm currently on leave from home support work due to injury as my job requires heavy lifting. Unless your yard is fenced, I insist on leashing. The field behind my home is great for walks but not fenced. My big dog loves to play with dogs but she can be placed in a separate room. I have a pen for pups or small dogs. Your dog(s) will get cuddles and play. I have a quiet room for shy cats, but your cat(s) can socialize with my 2 cats. My animals are all fixed. I can take exotic pets in your enclosure. My pen will give ample room to guinea pigs or rabbits. I can't separate small pet genders so please confirm in advance or bring your own cage.

About: Nice to meet you! My name is Chelsea, I am a 33-year-old Law Clerk, looking to make some extra money to save for a house! I am very responsible, reliable, trustworthy, and I absolutely LOVE animals! I have volunteered at the SPCA working with a variety of animals, gaining all the experience that comes along with it. DOGS: I am comfortable with any dog type. Big, small, friendly, shy, energetic, lazy- you name it! I can handle any breed, from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane. I can tire out your energetic pooch, or sit down and relax with your fur baby, and make them feel safe and comfortable. My mother also had her own dog walking business, and I thought that with the experience I gained helping her, I could start to help my local friends in the Niagara Region! CATS: I understand that cats need care tailored to their unique personalities - whether that means quiet companionship, playful interaction, or just sticking to their routines. I'm patient and attentive, making sure each cat feels safe and comfortable in their own space. What sets me apart is my ability to read their body language, respect their boundaries and build trust at their pace, so even shy or independent cats feel cared for. I also have two cats of my own, so I understand their quirks and routines! I do work full-time, so I offer pet care part-time during the evening and weekends. This gives me the perfect balance to dedicate focused, quality time to your pets. I make sure each visit, walk or overnight stay fits smoothly into my routine, so your dog or cat gets reliable, consistent care without me being rushed or distracted. ***If you live close by, I can fit in a lunchtime dog walk/feed between 12-1 or 1-2! *** When I care for pets in your home, I treat it with the same respect as my own. I will follow your routines closely to make sure your dog or cat feels safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. Whether its walks, feeding or crate time, I’ll provide reliable, loving care while keeping your home secure.

About: No request from you is too big!! My husband and I live in the middle of Welland. I started a not-for-profit dog rescue (Red Dog Rescue) from my home. Since then I ran another rescue as well. In total, we have saved 600 dogs off the streets and shelters of Texas since January 2020 and re-homed them here in Ontario. I left running dog rescues in 2024 as we welcomed our new son, but I do still foster the occasional dog! We own 3 rescue dogs total: 1. Carolina Dog (named KD) 2. Husky (Pretzel) 3. American Bulldog (Silver) We go for walks, runs, hiking on trails and trips to the park daily, and in the summer months we spend all day outside! We do not go to dog parks due to the risk of incidents. We believe a tired dog is a good dog. Frozen peanut butter or treats in Kong's are given MINIMUM daily depending on allergies/sensitivities, along with a good bone marrow or pig accessory to chew on, with permission from you! Our love for these animals is unending and all dog guests are treated like our own. We live a very active lifestyle but are willing to tone it down to care for sick/old dogs as well. Contagious sicknesses however we cannot accept due to the high amount of dogs we have coming and going. We have a private dog area for dogs that are not socialized/aggressive but can only take 1 at a time. All dogs are “puppies” in our house, no matter how old they are. Corey and Robyn are Paramedics however Robyn now works from home while on mat leave, so someone is always home, unless stepping out for the occasional appointment. We both know first aid and CPR for dogs, as well as any wound care and are willing to take the dog to a vet of your choice if needed, but are able to determine if the dog needs to go to the closest facility in case of an emergency. We both have experience with pilling animals and treating wounds, as well as needle injections. Robyn worked at a vet clinic for 6 years with cats and dogs. She opened a grooming clinic in the downstairs of the vet. Her motto is “no dog left behind” and people brought the most aggressive dogs to her to be trained how to behave and relax/enjoy grooming. Dogs that other groomers turned away. She taught horseback riding lessons to kids and grew up owning one hundred free range hens. She grew up with family dogs as well. She has experience with zoo animals and reptiles having completed the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College. She also used to volunteer grooming at the SPCA in Hamilton as well. Corey grew up with dogs in his house his whole life. His favorite breed is Boxer, but he loves all breeds. Corey is very active. He does CrossFit and soccer and loves to run, but he prefers to do so with the company of a pooch, big or small. One day we hope to move to Texas to rescue dogs as there is a bad crisis of overpopulation there. We are also learning Spanish, this way when the funding is there we plan to drive down to Mexico to assist with the overpopulation of dogs and educating people about the importance of spaying/neutering their pets. Corey’s parents own three of the dogs we fostered in the past from Texas. We were both shift workers so we are happy to do crazy drop off/pick up times, being available 24/7 for those on night shifts! Our son is very exposed to dogs seeing as so many come and go, he treats them with respect and if your dog is not comfortable around children we keep them completely separate. Give us a chance and we will do what we can to accommodate your pet! :) Big or small we love them all! #nodogleftbehind #spayandneuter #adoptdontshop Robyn is usually home all day as she works from home stepping out every so often for a quick appointment. Corey is home almost every day, doing night shifts and sleeping the morning, and usually does afternoon/evening walks/feeding. We have a large 6.5 ft solid wooden fenced in yard! Concrete blocks around the edges to avoid any escaping/digging. Our dogs are rescues and are kept separate from boarding dogs! They are lazy and tend to prefer to lounge during the day giving us extra time with your pup. We have a "cat room" and when the dogs are outside playing the cats can roam the home! We rotate dogs/cats all day long when they stay with us to make sure everyone gets an adequate time to play/nap. Our dogs are crate trained but if your dog is well trained we can let them roam the home at night while ours sleep in the "doggie rooms" (bedroom with our son/our bedroom.

About: I've been taking care of dogs, and my pet's in general for maybe more than 10 years. I was the only one in the house responsible for that since I wanted to have a pet and after that I had the chance to take care of my neighbors and Friends dogs when they were away and they always had a great experience with me and my family. at my place you bed will be well take care of and there's always going to be someone there to play with them and it had a great time with your dog walking playing or socializing with the kids and maybe other pets if they're available that day I'm at home all day, so no need to worry; your pet will have my full attention. My kids and husband are also always around, taking care of the dogs, so you can rest assured when I'm not there. We are a very loving family who will be taking care of your pet all the time. Your pet will have at least 3 to 4 walks a day and playtime many times a day. I work some weekends, and if that's the case when I'm taking care of your pet, you could expect them to be alone for 4 to 8 hours that day, which means 2 walks that day. Once your pet is at my place I will schedule a routine where we could go out three or four times a day and one more time before we I'll go to bed it will have play time and running time around the neighborhood I could drive him to a park close by so he can be safe and always be watched by me so you don't have to be worried about that. I own a dog as well, medium size, very friendly and playful, not neutered, so your pet will have company during the day 😊

I would love to care for your pups and I will give great care attention to them! I will properly follow any instructions given to me for caring for your dog. About: First of all - I empathize with your tough decision; leaving your fur baby in the hands of another is always a stressful experience. I want to make sure this is a pawsitive experience for you - to answer any questions, send regular updates and photos of your fur baby being spoiled, feeling safe and comfortable in your absence - which would be stressful for them as well. I will not derail your training or nutrition routines as I know it takes a lot of work and dedication to raise a healthy, happy pet. I work full time M to F, 8 to 3. If by chance your fur baby needed to spend any weekdays with me, I’m happy to crate or provide a space free of dangers - garbages up, stairs downstairs gated off and peaceful music in the background. I can also ask my folks (retired) to stop by for a pet and a pee. Mainly - I am looking to sit during weekends (when I am fully off) and holidays (I get all school holidays off) - where it will be me and your fur baby from morning till night! Also - if your pet is more comfortable at his/her own home, I don’t mind having the discussion of me staying over with you. I think it would be really beautiful to get to know your pet like an auntie so that you all can rely on a familiar face as you travel and your pets grow older! I live on an acre of land, with a creek in my backyard. I do not live on a busy street, however, I do not have a fenced in property. I would never let your dog or cat outside to roam without myself at the end of their leash. I will gladly exercise your fur baby with toys, lick pads and long-tether leash walks, in the backyard, on the trails (depending on heartworm/tick medications up to date), but I would never let them out of my sight (I wouldn’t even be able to do that with my own fur baby as I don’t want them to get into anything and frankly I don’t trust people out there!!)

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Welland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
