“Cassandra has been on time she has not missed a single visit I find her to be trustworthy and above all has common sense which seems to be in short supply these days. I am going to be using more of her services in the coming weeks.. there's not too many people I would trust in my home but I feel comfortable with Cassandra.”

“Superstar with our dog, We're always pleased to have Emily help us with our dog. She's calm and what our dog needs as he's very anxious. And I love getting the Rover cards with pics of him enjoying his walk.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs, cats and fish my entire life. I’ve also worked in the pet industry and am certified in canine and feline health and nutrition. I love all pets including small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. My official (and professional) education is in Ecology, which I went into because I care deeply for those who can’t speak for themselves. I’m compassionate, patient, and reliable. I promise you your pet will be well taken care of with me! I’m currently searching for full time work, so my schedule is very flexible and open! Please let me know of any specific scheduling requirements your pet needs (i.e., feeding, administering medicine, walks) prior to booking. Just like people, animals all have different personalities and requirements! I am very understanding and patient of all animals and their needs. I would love to know any of your pets quirks so I can ensure they are comfortable while getting to know me.

About: No request from you is too big!! My husband and I live in the middle of Welland. I started a not-for-profit dog rescue (Red Dog Rescue) from my home. We have saved 500 dogs off the streets of Texas since January 2020 and re-homed them here in Ontario. I left it late 2021 as the stress was too much but I do still foster the occasional dog! We own 5 rescue dogs total: 1. Bulldog (named KD) 2. Beagle (Lucy) 3. Collie (Kody) 4. Husky (Pretzel) 5. Bulldog (Silver) We go for walks, runs, hiking on trails and trips to the park daily! We do not go to dog parks due to the risk of incidents. We believe a tired dog is a good dog. Frozen peanut butter or treats in Kong's are given MINIMUM daily depending on allergies/sensitivities. Our love for these animals is unending and all dog guests are treated like our own. We live a very active lifestyle but are willing to tone it down to care for sick/old dogs as well. Contagious sicknesses however we cannot accept due to the high amount of dogs we have coming and going. We have a private dog area for dogs that are not socialized/aggressive but can only take 1 at a time. All dogs are “puppies” in our house, no matter how old they are. Corey and Robyn are Paramedics however Robyn now works from home while on mat leave, so someone is usually always home. We both know first aid and CPR for dogs, as well as any wound care and are willing to take the dog to a vet of your choice if needed, but are able to determine if the dog needs to go to the closest facility in case of an emergency. We both have experience with pilling animals and treating wounds, as well as we can do injections, first aid and CPR. Robyn worked at a vet clinic for 6 years with cats and dogs. She opened a grooming clinic in the downstairs of the vet. Her motto is “no dog left behind” and people brought the most aggressive dogs to her to be trained how to behave and relax/enjoy grooming. Dogs that other groomers turned away. She taught horseback riding lessons to kids and grew up owning one hundred free range hens. She grew up with family dogs as well. She has experience with zoo animals and reptiles having completed the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College. She also used to volunteer grooming at the SPCA in Hamilton as well. Corey grew up with dogs in his house his whole life. His favorite breed is Boxer, but he loves all breeds. Corey is very active. He does CrossFit and soccer and loves to run, but he prefers to do so with the company of a pooch, big or small. One day we hope to move to Texas to rescue dogs as there is a bad crisis of overpopulation there. We are also learning Spanish, this way when the funding is there we plan to drive down to Mexico to assist with the overpopulation of dogs and educating people about the importance of spaying/neutering their pets. Corey’s parents own three of the dogs we fostered in the past from Texas. We were both shift workers so we are happy to do crazy drop off/pick up times, being available 24/7 for those on night shifts! Give us a chance and we will do what we can to accommodate your pet! :) Big or small we love them all! #nodogleftbehind #spayandneuter #adoptdontshop Robyn is usually home all day as she works from home stepping out every so often for a quick appointment. Corey is home every evening/night and usually does evening walks/feeding. We have a large 6.5 ft solid wooden fenced in yard with patio stones, straw and wood chips to avoid mud! Concrete around the edges to avoid any escaping. Three of our dogs are well socialized and love to play! The other two we keep separate. We have a "cat room" and when the dogs are outside playing the cats roam the home! We rotate dogs/cats all day long when they stay with us to make sure everyone gets an adequate time to play/nap. Our dogs are crate trained but if your dog is well trained we can let them roam the home at night while ours sleep in the "doggie room".
“Paige was great and followed instructions perfectly. Dogs were looked after and there was no mess in the house to worry about while we were on a short vacation. Thanks for the great photos and open line of communication!”

About: I grew up with a beautiful, high-energy golden retriever, taking him for walks and car rides, brushing him, and giving him tons of pets. As someone who loves animals but isn’t in the position to have a pet of my own, I take any opportunity I can to hangout and take care of them. I had the opportunity recently to dog walk a senior dog and pet sit a couple big dogs for a few family friends and loved every minute of it. I took them for walks and potty breaks, fed them, played with them, and made sure to keep them on their normal routine while their owners were away. I am a quick learner who is able to follow instruction very well and ask questions when needed, so if your pet needs any extra care (for example, administering oral medication), I am more than comfortable taking on new tasks. I am currently in between employment and am looking for ways to make some money while I gear up for a master’s program in Scotland this fall. My availability is very flexible (e.g. mornings, afternoons, evenings, week days, and weekends) as my only other commitment is helping my brother with special needs on occasion. I will have plenty of time to give extra care and attention to your pets. I am very respectful, making sure to treat your home and pets as my own and ensuring their safety. For walks, I’ll make sure to use your preferred collar or harness, take the same walking route if that is what your pet prefers, always picking up their poop and putting it in the proper garbage, and making sure the doors/gates are locked before leaving. If your dog doesn’t enjoy interactions with other pets or people, I will make sure to avoid those situations, or if they do, give them plenty of time to socialize. In the home, I will make sure any hazards are put away, food is secured, things are put back where they belong, and make sure off-limit places stay off-limits. I will follow all instructions and send questions your way if I am unsure about anything. Plus, I’ll send photo updates so you know your pet is happy and well when you’re away.

About: I have had a menagerie since highschool, 4 dogs two of which were rescues, 3 cats, a bearded dragon and a tortoise all under one roof. I miss them all dearly since I moved back down south so I’m looking to share the love again I am currently working part time and have little hours from my job, so my availability is wide open for the most part. I can probably look after pets at least 4 times per week Regardless of where I am, I respect both the space (if it is not my own) and the animal. I want absolute comfort for any animal I look after. They will get an abundance of attention and affection depending on their individual needs. Feeding on time, bathing if they get dirty, and looking after the home as a side thing.

About: I’ve always had a dog or cat (or both!) in my life. I love all animals. I guess you could say pets complete me. They make my house a home. I am a retired nurse who is enjoying her new freedom but isn’t finished caring just yet. I am retired and very flexible with my time. I am available any day of the week and throughout each day to accommodate your pets needs. I will respect your space as well as your pets space. I will keep your pets safety my priority and always follow your directions to keep your pet happy and give you peace of mind that your pet is receiving the same care you provide.

I am a childcare provider who is working part time. I have lots of free time during the day to care for your special furry friend. I work part time so have lots of free time to get out and go for walks during the day in all types of weather. We will enjoy walks in the neighborhood, or sometimes go on the trails and hike or even beach walks. If you have more then 1 dog that's not a problem at all.

“Holly is incredible. This is her second time with my kitties. I have a very timid cat, and she let Holly give her pets and came out to eat in her usual spot. Holly helped create a safe and comfortable environment in her check ins with my two cats. She gave me such peace of mind with photos and updates. Thank you Holly!”

About: I had a senior dog in my early teens that I cared for regularly. After our senior dog passed, our family began fostering through Bruno Project, a non profit dedicated to fostering and adopting dogs from St Lucia. We did that for a few years and I was a primary caretaker. There I learned how to care for dogs that may be scared and skiddish. A few years into doing this, we found out now adopted dog of three years. I would regularly visit my parents to care for this dog. I learned everything from potty training to enrichment to feeding routines and caring for their fur. I take pride in the ability to be attentive to each pet’s needs. I regularly visit my parents house where we have our three year old rescue that I take care of when I am there. Additionally, my friend has a cat that I spend time with a few times a week. In my family’s home, I do everything for my family dog when I am there. We regularly go on walks and spend time outdoors. I am attentive to behaviour changes in your pet and approach with care. I respect the clients space and regularly stay in contact with owners to further ensure safety and communication. When I am caring for your animal I will always take your lead on what is best for your furry friend.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Welland
Miryam did an amazing job caring for our two cats during our honeymoon. She was able to befriend our shy boy and is an excellent communicator. We appreciated the updates we received with each visit. Our home was well cared for while we were away. And she was able to give our eldest cat his puffers.

Noor was amazing! Our cats are very shy and usually give us a hard time when meeting new people, so we were nervous about leaving them but Noor was so diligent and loving with them that they warmed up to her quickly. Noor has definitely earned us as loyal customers!

It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
