“Birch took fantastic care of our dog! It was easy to organize a meet and greet, and she was ready at the organized times. She was thoughtful in her care, taking our dog for lots of walks and giving treats. She also very considerately sewed our dog bed. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I have had my own pets since I was a kid and as I got older I got involved in rescue! I lived in the north for 6 years and rescued over 80 dogs while I was there :) I have fostered and cared for dogs of all ages, my own dogs are very used to having friends and they love it :) I current work full-time during the week and am able to board dogs on weekends. During the week I am able to walk dogs and do home visits to let doggos out to pee. I have a fully-fenced yard as well as a 5 acre property and lots of space indoors as well if I am boarding your pet.
“Jayson and Lovely are very warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about small dogs. They took Shadow in like he was their own. They provided daily updates with pics and videos which we really appreciated. We knew Shadow was in good hands, we weren't worried at all!”

“Dorothea was great and Ernie loved her! She walked him a few times a day and had him play in her yard which he loved. She also sent us photos and videos daily which we appreciated!”

“We are beyond grateful to Melissa and her wonderful family for taking such exceptional care of our beloved Milo. From the moment we dropped him off, we felt a deep sense of peace knowing he was in loving, capable hands. Throughout the entire week, Melissa kept us updated with sweet photos and thoughtful messages that truly put our hearts at ease. It was clear that Milo wasn’t just being looked after—he was being welcomed into their home like one of their own. Whether it was cozy snuggles, playtime, or peaceful walks, he looked happy, relaxed, and so loved. Their home is warm, calm, and filled with kindness—everything a pup could hope for when away from their usual surroundings. Milo returned to us happy, healthy, and with a wag in his tail that said it all. We feel so lucky to have found Melissa and her family. They are truly a rare gem in the world of dog-sitting. Thank you for giving Milo such a beautiful little vacation—we can’t wait to see you again!”

“This was our first experience leaving our dog with someone we didn’t know. Colleen was fantastic. Our dog has some quirks and is not used to being left in new places but Colleen was patient and truly tried to get to know our dog and treated her like one of the family. We received daily updates and pictures which helped ease our anxieties about leaving. Their dog Henry was very friendly and was great with our Rue Colleen and her family truly made this experience great for our family and we would not hesitate to leave our dog with her again. Thanks Colleen!”

“First time using Rover and happy to have had Evan watch Murphy for us. He was very responsive, accommodating and gave us some updates over the weekend which was great. Would definetly recommend and have him watch Murphy again.”

“This was Juniors third stay with Cathy. He absolutely adores her as do we. He always has fun and receives top notch care. Thank you for the flexibility on pick up Cathy! Flight delays seem to be inevitable these days. We’ll See you again soon I’m sure. 😊”

“Mandy is fantastic. My dog Fergus was so well taken care of during his 15-day stay. When I dropped Fergus off at Mandy’s he had a sprained back leg. Mandy took great care of him and when I picked him up, he was all healed up. I highly recommend Mandy for your dog sitting and boarding needs. Thanks Mandy!”

“Joshua was fantastic! He took care of my dog Kolsch for a few days while I was on a work trip and Kolsch clearly had lots of fun! I got frequent updates with pictures and videos telling me about how Kolsch was doing and what they were up to, and she got in lots of walks and time outside at the park. Joshua's dog Loki was also a great companion for Kolsch to play with. Joshua was really responsive and kind, and clearly really loves dogs. I knew Kolsch was safe in his home. I will definitely be booking with Joshua again. Thanks for taking such good care of my dog! :)”

“Ruby & Bernard had a fun couple of days. He was responsive and helpful, his fenced yard is perfect and Ruby was in fine form when I picked her up. We will choose Bernard again!”

“My pup was super well taken care of and loved like he was their own, and Zeus is in love with them. Definitely recommend this petsitter as a first choice. I will be leaving my fur baby with them again!”
“Amazing, as always. 10/10, Simone & Adam are some of the best humans I’ve had the privilege of meeting in my life. So having them care for my pup for extended periods of time is truly a blessing. I’m very thankful for them.”

“Diana’s was awesome with our two little babies 🦮🐶. She was the only reason we were able to stay calm while being away from them. She kept us informed by sending us photos, videos, and comments of every walk, or fun moment with them. She did a meet and greet previous the boarding which helped me and my husband to feel comfortable, and our doggies just fell in love of her and her beautiful family. I’ll always recommend her for her professionalism and the heart she puts into caring for animals. As long as she is able to, she will be our forever go to petsitter 😊”

“We had a good and cooperative communication with Pamela. Obi was on the first time with a sitter and she managed to understand him and to have a great time together. We wish her all the best on this new year🤗.”

“This was my second time with Ms Shuang together with her partner. She was amazing.. they were actually, very approachable and always updating me by sending photos of my PotPot activities and playtime with her. My dog loves her so much. Wheb we drop my dog off. He dont even look back on us. He went straight to Shuang and drag her to her place. He was very excited. I’m so releived that my dog found a place or shall i call it a second home for him because of the love and care that he got from Shuang and her partner. Highly recommended🥰”

Birch obviously loves dogs! She took care of medications and mobility issues with our senior dog. She spent time with her outdoors, and took her for gentle strolls (as we requested). We were pleased to see that our dog was happy to see us at the end of her stay, but not frantic to get into the car to leave. Birch was responsive to questions and pleasant to work with.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
