“This was my second time using Rover, and I was in a bit of a bind. I usually keep my boy Patch at home in Berens with a sitter - he is a playful country boy and a big suck who likes his routines - but everyone was busy. I found Dorotea on River, and she was wonderful from the start. She had me bring Patch and myself in so she could get to know the both of us, learn his routines, and make sure he was comfortable in her home before I left. That meant a lot to me. She kept me well informed with updates and pictures, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. She gave Patch all the love and attention he deserves, and then some. It’s clear she truly loves animals. I was half joking that Patch might not want to come home with me. This experience allowed me to enjoy my time away without worrying or feeling guilty, because I knew he was in excellent hands. Dorotea was a blessing for Patch and for me, I would trust her again in a heartbeat.”

“I was apprehensive about leaving my fur baby with a stranger but I could not have been more pleased. Mandy kept me updated to ensure Peppa was happy and content. Mandy was wonderful to deal with and I would have her take care of Peps again.”

“Aspen and Ember had a great stay! I was provided with updates and pictures thought out, which left my mind at ease. Carley made sure that the dogs were well acquainted during the meet and greet. Upon pick up, and arriving home they were calm and napped a lot after a playful weekend. Will definitely book again!”

“Carol, Luis and family were great with our old girl. They even took her for a ride to pick up their kids from school. Although our girl is house trained, she managed to have a few accidents in their house. Carol and Luis were so kind about it and told us not to worry, being in an unfamiliar house was likely the reason for it. Would absolutely book with them again if they’d have her. Thanks again Carol, Luis & family!”

About: Between my husband and I we have over 10 years of pet experience. Between growing up with animals and more recently fostering dogs, in addition to dog sitting for some friends we've had a wide variety of dogs in the house. I work part time which allows me the flexibility to spend lots of time with the dogs. I'm a morning person and enjoy getting up early to go for walks, and now that it's nice out I'm likely to be outside most of the day! We have a big fenced yard which is great for the dogs to run around and play. We also live in a quiet little town which is perfect for taking the dogs for walks with minimal distractions
“We left our 15 year old dog with Pamela for two full weeks and couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Pamela was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She carefully administered all of our senior dog’s medications on schedule, monitored her closely, and sent us videos and updates every single day. Seeing those videos made us feel so much better while we were away, it was clear our girl was comfortable, happy, and well loved. Pamela’s deep knowledge of dog behavior was a huge bonus. She really understood how to keep our older dog relaxed and content. We came home to a healthy, happy dog who showed no signs of stress after two weeks away. Pamela is professional, compassionate, and truly excellent at what she does. We highly recommend her to anyone, especially those with senior dogs who need extra attention and care. We will absolutely be booking Pamela again without hesitation.”

“It was our first time using Rover and in-home boarding for our Husky mix. After 5 years of daycare in a larger facility, our aging boy needed a more relaxed environment. Brock & Nicole provided that, plus more. From first point of contact to his first overnight stay in their lovely home, we were put at ease and Netley settled in quicker than we anticipated. I’m happy we found the perfect fit! We will book again in the future for sure!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and shared the past 15 years every single day with my dogs. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m available most days and evenings with notice. Being a home body makes for great pet sitting. I live in a pet friendly condo that I own. My home consists of one small, elderly female dog and one young cat. I have many tropical plants; only pets who know boundaries with plants can be accommodated. There is no smoking or drinking here, as I like to maintain a quiet home. We have no children or frequent visitors. Pets are fed twice daily or as needed, and walked 3-4x per day based on needs. Bike rides offered for high energy dogs. I live close to a leash/ off leash dog park. I can offer basic grooming, training, and exercise as needed. I’m proficient with administering medication.
About: Hello everyone! I recently moved to Winnipeg from Italy with my boyfriend and our beloved dog. I've already worked as a dog sitter in Italy and I can't wait to meet your pups here in Canada! My English isn't perfect yet, and I'm studying it diligently every day, but don't worry: the language of the heart and cuddles is universal! I guarantee that every instruction, need, or specific request for your dog will be listened to with the utmost attention and precision. Having a dog myself, I know exactly what it means to love them as family. I will treat your furry little ones with the same dedication, patience, and love I give my own. I'm improving my English, but I'm a very precise person and will use translation tools to ensure | follow all your instructions perfectly.❤️ Your dog will feel very stimulated at my house and will definitely have company, as he can play with my dog, who is very friendly with everyone. I also have a small balcony, so when the weather is nice, we could even sit outside for a bit. I'll let him play. It's also part of my building, and there's a small dog park, so we could easily go down and play a bit there. I also have a kennel and some toys for my dog at home, so everything is already set up to make him feel at home too.❤️ My home is a welcoming place. My apartment is pet-friendly. Pets are more than welcome, and I will, of course, give your pet the utmost attention.
“Laura is a lovely, intelligent, wise and extremely dependable person to host your pet. Her home is fresh, tranquil and well situated near parks and green spaces for exploring squirrels and other critters. Her furry co-Host Motley has been a gentleman in entertaining and graciously shares his space with his guests. Lots of cuddle time and pampering. Photos were sent. All the feeding notes and little vitamin what’s its - all followed to the letter. Thank you for taking such great care of your wee Rover over-night guest. Can highly recommend Laura for day sitting or longer stays- all star host!”

“Yutika was nothing but amazing. Her communication was above and beyond and she honestly took care of my dog like it’s her own and that says a lot about her. This was my first time using rover and I’m glad I went with Yutika. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommend her. You will not regret and I’m sure your pet will also not regret their stay at hers. Thank you so much!! You are the best.”

“Stacey was wonderful. She was able to accommodate us on short notice. This was most appreciated. Her spot was well equipped with a very clean kennel space and a 2 acre fenced yard for the dogs to run. She gave us updates with great photos and videos in the morning and evening while we were away. Overall she was very good with our girls and they didn’t want to leave when we came to pick them up. I will definitely use Stacey again when we need a place for our girls to stay while we are away.”

About: I have 15 years of experience living with and caring for cats, so I understand their behavior, routines, and how to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I’m confident handling walks, feeding, and daily care, and I understand the importance of structure, safety, and attention. Pet owners can rely on me for responsible, consistent, and attentive care. I treat every pet with patience and respect. I work remotely from home, which means I’m available to stay with your pet throughout the day and provide constant care, attention, and supervision. I follow each pet’s routine closely and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and not left alone. Flexible schedule and reliable presence guaranteed. I focus on creating a safe, clean, and low-stress environment for every pet. I carefully follow all instructions, routines, and any special care requirements. Working from home allows me to supervise pets throughout the day and respond quickly if needed. I have hands-on experience with both cats and large dogs, including my own German Shepherd in the past, so I’m confident handling different temperaments. Safety, consistency, and trust are my top priorities.
“Marcus and Meghan and their children gave Saoirse such wonderful, loving care during her 3-week stay. She got lots of cuddles and was treated like one of the family. They sent us pictures and updates almost every day so we felt very comfortable knowing Saoirse was in good hands. We highly recommend them and will certainly use them again in the future.”

“Iryna and her husband were absolutely fantastic with my dogs. Sent pics/videos and updates regularly and I could see that my dogs were in good hands and were happy. Will definitely use her services again!”

“Absolutely fantastical! I was in an emergency and autumn stepped up and helped me out. Absolute life saver. Sent me pics and videos of my lughead which she affectionately named meatball. He's definitely a meathead. Extended the duration when I wasnt sure what was happening with work. Without her I would have been S.O.L!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
