“Odessa was amazing and we would definitely use her again. She was very flexible and accommodating with our needs especially for pick up/drop off times. She sent us a lot of pictures and we felt very comfortable having her watch our little Henri. You can tell that she has a great love for dogs and really enjoys spending time with them. Would recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter in that area!”

About: Loved animals from early on. Patience and care with them while owners are away is something I can provide. Will treat them like family. Happy to help the animals. I work part time only a few hours a day, so I will help the animals with the rest of my free time. I will be able to take dogs for walkswith my dogs, or alone if necessary. I will closely and accurately follow the instructions that are left for me so that the pets have consistency of care they would expect from their own owners until Mom or dad comes to be with them again.
“Lisa and Geoffrey were amazing! We were in town for a bike race and had our dog, Fox, with us. She had an amazing night and day with them while we were out riding. Lisa sent us tons of photos and updates. It eased our minds completely. Thanks for much to you both for taking such good care of our girl!”

“Colleen and Andrew are absolutely fabulous! My dog Cali thoroughly enjoys her stays with them. She comes home tuckered out and content. They send frequent updates throughout the day which eases my anxiety of leaving Cali for work and provide lots of activities to keep her busy and comfortable in their care. I would 100% recommend them to any dog owner for short or long term sitting ☺️”

“Kirsten was amazing with our pup! She was very friendly, accomodating, and so loving toward the animals. We would definitely not hesitate to leave our puppy in her care again.”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing. She seemed very experienced with dog care and made my nervous dog feel very comfortable and at ease! She kept me updated throughout the booking, and was very accommodating and understanding. I'd recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a great, reliable dog sitter.”

About: I've spent years caring for dogs through fostering, and pet-sitting for friends, family, and neighbours. I have experience with dogs of various sizes, breeds, personalities, and support needs, including senior dogs and those with disabilities. My partner and I also recently cared for a diabetic cat over several months, giving us experience following medication schedules and providing attentive care for pets with specific health requirements. Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with family dogs and have continued caring for pets throughout adulthood. While I'm new to Rover, I'm not new to pet care, and I'd be happy to provide testimonials from previous pet owners if that helps ease your mind! I really enjoy getting to know each pet's unique personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away! I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available for pet sitting throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends. Your pet will receive lots of attention and will rarely be left alone! Please note: I will be unavailable from July 14–31 due to travel. I currently don't have any pets of my own, which allows me to focus entirely on the pets in my care! I live in a spacious, pet-friendly apartment with a patio and easy access to parks, walking trails, and Penticton's dog-friendly beach areas. I'll be happy to stick to the schedule that your pets are familiar with (for example, if you let them on furniture, they'll be welcome on my furniture, if they usually sleep in a crate overnight, they'll do the same at my place, if they aren’t comfortable around other animals, I’m happy to accommodate that). Whether your pet loves outdoor adventures, relaxed walks, or plenty of cuddle time at home, I'll tailor their care to what makes them happiest!

“Chelsea was super communicative with us the whole time that Finley stayed with her - sending pictures of their fun adventures together! Finley had an incredible time going on long walks & a few swims. We would highly recommend Chelsea & will use her services again if we need them!!!”

“Our senior dogs had a GREAT time during their stay and we received lots of photos showing that! Stacey & Patchen have an awesome property for the dogs to romp around on and other dogs to play with. Our little energetic chihuahua got to play around with puppies while our big "fragile" senior lab hung out with other senior labs so he didn't overexert himself. I felt completely at ease that my dogs were completely taken care of while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Patchen and Stacey!”
“We were first timers at using Rover and after searching for the perfect pet sitter we came across Julie. Her profile sounded like a perfect fit for our 4 year old Labrador that has never been away from his only home that he knew of by himself. Not only was Julie great at consoling our nervous pup but also his nervous parents at dropping him off for a week by himself! She was very reassuring to both ourselves and our dog! Henry had a good week with Julie, giving his generous love to her and her family and meeting new friends. We really appreciate the care and attention she gave our dog as well as the daily updates on how our pup’s day with her was going. Would definitely feel comfortable leaving our love bug with her again in the future. Thank you Julie for making our first time using Rover and pet sitting a good experience.”

“Karen and Ken took such good care of Bowen while I was away. They kept me up to date on how he was doing and even sent pictures and videos of him settling in, which gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend Karen and Ken as they were superb with my Bowen!”

“I had a great experience with Carissa. She took wonderful care of our schnoodle, while in Penticton for a sports event. Feeby was happy and relaxed when I dropped her off and just as happy when I picked her up, which says everything. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. I'd absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter.”

About: I would like to open our home to other dogs families in need of dog daycare, walking, boarding etc. I have a 7 year old labrador retriever, and his goofy energy is contagious. He is very friendly to other dogs. I am highly organized, and love all types of dogs. I offer home check ups, dog daycare, dog boarding, and dog walking services. Having raised our pup Maple full time, from 8 weeks old, and I have a lot of patience and care to offer. I hope to hear from you soon! I work casually as a nurse, so my schedule is flexible and I can essentially pick and choose my work days which opens up my availability to care for pups :) I am comfortable with all types of dogs, and I'm happy to hang out at home with them or take them for fun times at the park. I live alone and have no children besides my fur baby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
