“This was our first time leaving our 2 dogs with Lisa and Geoffrey. We did a meet and greet, then left the dogs for 4 nights later in the week. They had a blast and Lisa was great at sending photos and videos so we weren’t worrying. We will use Lisa and Geoffrey again. The dogs were happy and well looked after.”

“Kirsten was amazing with our pup! She was very friendly, accomodating, and so loving toward the animals. We would definitely not hesitate to leave our puppy in her care again.”

“Julie has always been very accommodating for now a few of my last minute, out-of-town trips! Miska loves going to her place and she always updates me with what they’re up to and how she’s doing! Julie is my Go-to Rover sitter!!”

“Karen and Ken took such good care of Bowen while I was away. They kept me up to date on how he was doing and even sent pictures and videos of him settling in, which gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend Karen and Ken as they were superb with my Bowen!”

About: Loved animals from early on. Patience and care with them while owners are away is something I can provide. Will treat them like family. Happy to help the animals. I work part time only a few hours a day, so I will help the animals with the rest of my free time. I will be able to take dogs for walkswith my dogs, or alone if necessary. I will closely and accurately follow the instructions that are left for me so that the pets have consistency of care they would expect from their own owners until Mom or dad comes to be with them again.
“I was so pleased to see Santana happy when I returned and happy to see me. I received updates while I was gone and I think he managed to melt in. He can be a little nervous with certain things like slippery floors and it was nice to see they tried to make him more comfy but putting down little carpets for him to walk on!”

“Chelsea was super communicative with us the whole time that Finley stayed with her - sending pictures of their fun adventures together! Finley had an incredible time going on long walks & a few swims. We would highly recommend Chelsea & will use her services again if we need them!!!”

“Stacey and Patchen did a great job of taking care of my boston terrier mix Ralphie while I was away for the weekend. They have 3 great dogs who got along great with my pup. I would highly recommend them!”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing. She seemed very experienced with dog care and made my nervous dog feel very comfortable and at ease! She kept me updated throughout the booking, and was very accommodating and understanding. I'd recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a great, reliable dog sitter.”

“I had a great experience with Carissa. She took wonderful care of our schnoodle, while in Penticton for a sports event. Feeby was happy and relaxed when I dropped her off and just as happy when I picked her up, which says everything. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. I'd absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter.”

About: I would like to open our home to other dogs families in need of dog daycare, walking, boarding etc. I have a 7 year old labrador retriever, and his goofy energy is contagious. He is very friendly to other dogs. I am highly organized, and love all types of dogs. I offer home check ups, dog daycare, dog boarding, and dog walking services. Having raised our pup Maple full time, from 8 weeks old, and I have a lot of patience and care to offer. I hope to hear from you soon! I work casually as a nurse, so my schedule is flexible and I can essentially pick and choose my work days which opens up my availability to care for pups :) I am comfortable with all types of dogs, and I'm happy to hang out at home with them or take them for fun times at the park. I live alone and have no children besides my fur baby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
