“Amy watched our two kitties and our home for 2 weeks over the Christmas holiday while we were out of town. Our cats both loved her, she send videos and photos everyday keeping us updated which made us feel so happy. The cats were always curled up cuddling with her- they don’t just warm up to everyone! About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, lizards, and bunnies since my early teens. Since I was young my family members and friends have always trusted me with their pets!:) I have also had experience with reactive pets and I am able to adapt and pay attention to the boundaries that your furry friend may place! I love furry friends that roam the earth. I have always watched family members and friends animals through out the years. Recently I heard that there has been a shortage of genuine care takers for pets and that breaks my heart. I too have been tasked in the past to trust someone to watch my beloved fur baby while on a trip, and the last thing you want to do is worry about them and if they are being treated properly or not. I like to consider myself an active person so going for long walks fits into my lifestyle quite nice but I also love just cuddling up with a blanket and a pet for a nice movie night in. I have a good routine with my animals at home to spend some time together in the morning which is usually an hour before work, and then to take them for an 1-2 hour walk after work! If need be i am also happy to stop in during my lunch breaks to check on pets:). I usually have a steady work schedule of days, but every now and then I have a night shift which usually animals are happy about because it means it’s a pretty active day before the shift starts! I currently only have my cat with my now, but I sometimes during the year I will have my partners dog living with me as well! I don’t have a fenced im yard however I do have a long leash outside to keep them on while we spend the evenings soaking in the summer sun if we aren’t already on a walk!

About: I have been a dog mom all my life. I have an Egyptian rescue dog, Hummus. She is 10 and an absolute sweetheart. We do lots of hikes, beach visits, and rail trail walks both on and off leash. I always have lots of dog toys and treats on hand, extra leashes, etc. I am currently on mat leave so have lots of extra time at the moment. I have experience with all sorts of breeds. Growing up, we had Labs, Shepherds, and Pomeranians, and now I have a rescue pup. I am comfortable working with dogs with anxiety, so am careful to create a positive environment for them where they feel safe and loved :) Since I have a dog of my own, dog walks and getting her energy out and making sure she gets lots of activity - both physical and mental - is a part of our daily life. I am happy to take dogs on walks wherever you prefer and have a car so can head out to various locations outside of Nelson, as needed. I'm currently working part-time / self-employed, so I will have ample time to care for your precious furry friends and be on a fairly flexible schedule for walks and feeding. In your home, I will carefully adhere to whatever safety precautions you have in place to protect your precious dogs and cats - be it keeping gates, doors or windows shut and crating when necessary. I can only pet sit at your home, although doggy day-care is available in our large garden - which is fenced, with ample shade under a big magnolia tree, and grassy area to play on, we have a trampoline which the doggos love to nap under too!

About: I've worked with dogs of all temperaments. Shy or nervous rescue dogs are no problem! I can handle any dog, big or small, high energy, timid, low energy, large breeds, or large personalities. I live in walking distance of the dog park, as well as a wooded trail system for your pup’s enjoyment. I never stop learning about dogs so you can rest assured knowing you have one of the best looking after your pets. I am layed off of my full time career for the winter so my time is your pets time. I am available most days and overnight with very few exceptions. Whether caring for pets in my home or theirs, I prioritize their comfort, routine, and well being. In my home I create a safe and welcoming environment (I have plenty of toys and very soft blankets for them). I have just as much energy as your pup and give them plenty of play time, exercise, and affection. I follow any special instructions strictly, Including feeding schedules, medications, walking routines, and anything else they may need from me. When staying in the pets home, I treat it with the utmost respect, keeping it tidy, secure, and as it was. I make sure pets feel at ease in their familiar surroundings, providing companionship, regular updates, and lots of love. I always make sure there is fresh drinking water and the house is a reasonable temperature. In the summers providing fans and ice water etc. I make sure they have toys and their own bed for a safe comfy place to sleep. Crating if needed. Lots of cuddles and pets.

About: Hi there! My name is Emily. I work full time at the hospital and my schedule allows me to have many weekdays days off. I grew up with golden retrievers and most recently rescued a 2 year old lab/husky mix of my own named Bee. She’s timid at first but is great with dogs. She loves to hang out on the couch at home. Looking forward to boarding/walking your pet and introducing Bee to new friends! Schedule fluctuates based on work schedule. Please see calendar for availability. Boarding and doggy day care depend on schedule. Can’t consistently commit to the same weekday Lots of hang out time. Backyard fence is only partially closed off. Dogs will remain on leash at all times unless otherwise indicated by owner!
