“Ekaterina was an absolutely wonderful house sitter! She was kind, communicative, and clearly cared about taking good care of my fur baby. I wouldn’t ever hesitate to book her again. Thank you so much for taking away all stress about caring for my little girl while I was travelling!”

About: As a pet parent myself to a golden retriever rescue, I deeply understand the concept of dogs being part of the family. I have been caring for and fostering dogs since I was 15 years old and have grown up with them. I have also attended dog training classes for obedience and have a solid foundation on how to handle dogs with positive reinforcement and observe their signals all to ensure that they are safe and happy. I am comfortable handling fearful or reactive dogs and have experience pet sitting small, medium and large dogs (max 40kg/ 88lbs). My special skill is that I can help in training puppies ☀️ and I can administer medication to senior dogs I am a student so I have a variable schedule that can be accommodating to your needs. I can drive and am usually available during the day. Safety is my highest priority meet and greets are greatly encouraged! I will always ask for the consent of the pet owners for any food/treats or group play sessions(if requested) Lots of updates guaranteed!
“Ana was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for a better dog-sitting experience. From the moment we met her, it was clear how much she genuinely loves dogs and how experienced she is in caring for them. She has a natural way of interacting with dogs and a deep understanding of their needs, which made us feel completely comfortable leaving our 2.5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier in her care. One thing we especially appreciated was her attention to detail and communication. She always checked with us making decisions related to our dog's care, even for small things (such as which treats to give, etc). Knowing that she took the time to confirm details gave us a great deal of confidence and peace of mind. Ana also kept us updated throughout the day with lots of photos and videos. Since we're not very used to leaving our dog with a sitter, those updates meant so much to us and helped us feel reassured that he was happy and well cared for. Most importantly, our dog seemed to have an amazing day with her. It was obvious that he had a lot of fun and received plenty of attention and care. We would wholeheartedly recommend Ana to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy dog sitter. We would be thrilled to book with her again in the future. Thank you so much, Ana! 🐾”

About: Hi, I’m Alex, a reliable dog walker and pet sitter (cats and dogs) based in Brossard. I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for 15 years, from playful puppies to calm seniors, and I’m comfortable with basic medications and special routines. On walks, your dog gets a route and pace matched to their energy, fresh water, and a quick paw wipe when we’re back. For sitting, I follow your usual schedule for feeding, play, cuddles, and potty breaks, and I send photo updates so you always know they’re doing well. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight sitting, with flexible hours to fit your needs. I am available evenings and week ends to take care of your furry friends. I can also do overnight stays sometimes. I enjoy being outside for walks with the dogs or chill inside with your indoor cats. When I care for pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect and care as you do. I follow your house rules exactly and I maintain your pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, medication, and rest, and I keep the home clean and tidy. I also keep your emergency contacts and vet info close at hand, and I send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing your pet and your home are both in safe, trustworthy hands.
“Naïla took amazing care of our cat Tonks while we were away for 4 days! When we came home, Tonks was calm, happy, and purring away, a testament to the tenderness, presence, and attentiveness Naïla showed during her visits. Naïla has taken care of our dog and cat many times now, and we trust her wholeheartedly.”

“Junya did an excellent job taking care of my 3 year old border collie, while I was on vacation. She spent 11 days dog and house sitting. I came back home with my dog happy and healthy. As well as with my house being well maintained and respected. Thank you so much!!”

“Emy a été très à l'aise toute suite à son arrivée. Bien que notre chien Bento n'était pas habitué à se faire garder, elle a su s'adapter à son tempérament pour le mettre à l'aise au maximum. Nous avions une très bonne communication et tout était très propre à notre arrivée. Je la recommande sans problème !”

“Isabela was a wonderful sitter! She was easy to communicate with, punctual, and incredibly flexible, especially as I had to change the timing a few times. It was clear from the moment she met my elderly cat that she would be caring and affectionate with him—she was immediately so sweet with him. She left my home tidy and also provided a detailed update on how my cat was doing throughout the week I was away, which gave me great peace of mind. I would recommend Isabela without hesitation and would happily have her sit for my cat again!

About: I’ve always loved animals, they truly feel like family to me. I was a devoted cat mom to my Bengal for over 11 years, and caring for him shaped how attentive and patient I am with pets. Losing him was very hard, and offering pet care now feels like a meaningful way to continue sharing that love. Over the years, I’ve cared for both cats and large dogs, including a 130-lb Rottweiler/Bernese mix. I’m comfortable handling strong breeds, structured walks, and different energy levels. What sets me apart is my calm and responsible nature. As a flight attendant, safety, routine, and clear communication are part of my everyday life. I pay attention to details, follow instructions carefully, and respect both your pet’s routine and your home. I’m comfortable with: • Oral medication • Senior pets • High-energy personalities • Maintaining feeding and walk schedules • Sending regular photo updates I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone. My goal is always to make them feel safe, cared for, and relaxed while you’re away.

I am someone that spends a lot of time outside so I can care easily for a dog that needs to be active a lot
“Friendly, tidy, flexible, and responsive. Lindsay cared for our cats and dog while we were away. An unexpected issue had occurred with our return flights, which Lindsay was understanding and flexible with. She followed the instructions we left with regards to our pets, and tidied our apartment before we returned, which was very thoughtful! We recommend her, and would use her services again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Prairie
It was our first experience with dog sitting, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person than Ekaterina. She is truly an angel! 🤍 From the moment Mylo met her, we immediately felt comfortable and reassured. Mylo can be a little anxious, and Ekaterina knew exactly how to approach him, make him feel comfortable, and help him stay calm. She is incredibly organized, caring, and attentive. Throughout our entire vacation, she kept us updated with pictures, videos, and little updates about Mylo. Since it was our first time leaving him with someone, this made such a huge difference for us. We felt completely safe and reassured knowing that he was happy and in good hands. What surprised me the most was actually seeing a difference in Mylo when we came back from vacation. He seemed calmer and more relaxed, which really showed me how comfortable and well taken care of he had been with Ekaterina. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end, and we are so grateful to have found her. I would 100% recommend Ekaterina to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, patient, and genuinely caring to look after their dog. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Mylo! 🐾🤍

Ekaterina has been the best sitter I’ve ever had! She communicated before the stay with plenty of questions to make sure she was going to meet my cat’s needs the same way I would. She sent many pictures and videos throughout the stay and when I came back the house was spotless! Will definitely hire again <3
Anja is truly an animal lover. She took looked after our senior dog with care and compassion. He needs a fairly structured routine, as well as requiring supplements with his twice daily meals and drops in his eyes. This can be overwhelming to some but Anja handled it like a professional. The minute we returned home, we knew it had gone well. We found our boy in the same health and mindset that he had when we untrusted him to this wonderful person. Anja left our house clean and tidy, none of our personal belongings were disturbed or damaged. She took such good care of our boy, that he spent the evening looking out the window for her to come back. In all a wonderful experience, we will definitely be booking her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,117 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Prairie. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Prairie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Prairie walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Prairie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
