“I met with Lisa and my dog at the park 2 days before and I felt confident right away. She communicated very well and sent me pictures and updates. Josephine seemed to have had a good time! I recommend Lisa and will call her back.”

“Vanne was a great host to our dog Jo. They played a lot and Vanne sent many pictures during the stay. Jo was very comfortable and I'm really glad that Vanne was available to take care of her. Will definetely book again when needed.”

“Lin, Jing & Tini were fantastic hosts. As this was our first time leaving Skylar with a sitter, i will admit i had my reservations. But we’re so glad that Skylar was accepted. She had a wonderful time running through our host’s backyard snow maze with her new friend Tini. Our hosts were great with communicating updates and very easy to work with. So glad Skylar was in such good hands.”

“Susan was awesome! She has a calm and responsible energy and I felt very comfortable leaving our dog with her. She gave me updates every day, pictures, and comments on how Kaia was doing. I would definitely be using her again in the future for dog sitting. Thank you so much for your help, Susan!”

“We are very happy with Dani’s sitting services, she practically saved our vacation. Our dog is very nervous and easily stressed out, so I was reluctant to leave him with someone he doesn’t know, but it turned out very well. Dani sent me regular updates, and the dog returned happy and well looked-after. I was sure he wouldn’t be eating, as he is very tricky with food, and refuses it completely when stressed. However, he felt comfortable enough to eat his food! I was pleasantly surprised to see the evidence of this in the photo ?. Highly recommend Dani, I think she’s great with dogs. Hope she will be available next year!”

“Lars and Eulalie are very attentive, caring and kept us informed during their 2 day care for Miku and Franny with lots of photos and videos. The puppies were happy and we appreciate their love during our time away.”

“Millie is a great sitter! I recommend her without hesitation. She takes her job very seriously, taking time to get to know your pet and adapt her care accordingly. Our dog Bruno stayed 14 days with her, Millie took the time to always keep us informed about Bruno’s activities and wellbeing.”

“Emma was so patient and caring! She kept me updated every day with messages and photos, and always replied quickly when I asked how Arya was doing. I could tell Arya was really happy and comfortable. I’d absolutely trust her to take care of her again!”

“Eamonn and his girlfriend were absolute lifesavers! We were nervous to be away from our dog for two weeks, but they showered her with love and attention. Daily updates with adorable pictures of a relaxed and happy pup made our entire trip stress free. They went above and beyond, making sure to follow all our instructions for Olive's specific needs. We couldn't believe how comfortable and bonded Olive looked with both of them in the pictures! 10 out of 5 stars (if that were possible!)😊”

“Chris was very professional and quick to respond to my last minute request to watch my dog over the holidays. Great to work with and my dog enjoyed her stay with him and his partner and I would absolutely book with him again.”

“Although I was nervous cause it was my first time leaving my 8 year old rescue, Ailiza quickly put me at ease. She provided regular updates and photos which was great. Thank you Ailiza.”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with a calm, gentle approach and a passion for making pets feel safe, understood, and adored. Whether your fur baby is energetic, anxious, snuggly, or a little quirky, I meet every pet where they’re at and tailor my care to their unique needs. I know how much your animals mean to you. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind while giving them comfort, fun, and affection. You can expect clear communication, photo updates, and plenty of affection for your furry family member. I treat every pet like my own. Looking forward to meeting your pet! I work from home with flexible hours so I’m able to accommodate what schedule works best for your pet. I plan my schedule around walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins so pets are never rushed or left waiting. I’m organized, reliable, and intentional about keeping routines consistent, which helps pets feel calm and secure. When house sitting, I prioritize creating a calm, predictable environment, especially for anxious or sensitive pets. I follow their routine closely, move at their pace, and use gentle, low-stress handling to help them feel safe and secure. For dogs, this includes walks, consistent feeding schedules, and reassuring companionship. For cats, I allow them to initiate interaction, maintain litter and feeding routines, and create a peaceful space where they can relax. I pay close attention to body language, appetite, and behavior changes, and I’m comfortable administering medications or following specific care instructions if needed. In my clients’ homes, I’m respectful, tidy, and safety-focused. I provide regular photo updates and clear communication so owners can feel confident their pets are calm, cared for, and in good hands.
“Daniela and her husband were wonderful care takers to Walter! They followed our guidance, gave him lots of love and attention, and kept us informed the whole time. Very grateful for their care!”

About: I've grown up around animals my whole life — German Shepherds, an English Staffy, and cats over the years. Right now I have a 10-month-old kitten of my own, so I know the energy (and mischief) young pets bring. I work from home, which means your pet is never left alone during the day. I'm in an apartment with a large grassy area and parks nearby for dog walks, and I'm fully set up for cats. My two kids (3 and 6) are gentle and great with animals. I work from home full-time, so pet care fits naturally into my day rather than around it. I'm here for feeding, walks, play, and check-ins throughout the day and evening, with flexibility on timing. Weekends are open too, and pets are never left alone for long stretches. In my home, pets stay in a calm apartment with a large grassy area and nearby parks for walks. I keep cats and dogs comfortable, watch feeding and litter or bathroom routines, and make sure everyone has their own space. Because I work from home, I can spot anything off early. In a client's home, I follow your routines closely and keep your space exactly as you left it.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hampstead
Andrea took care of our 3yo pup while we had to travel to take care of family. We had never done boarding before and we were nervous, but she took excellent care of our dog Miska and sent us pictures and videos daily. She is very communicative and respectful of boundaries or rules we set for our dog care. Overall, it was a positive experience and we will definitely book again if we need to get away, so Miska can enjoy some time by his favorite window with Andrea.

Vlada was wonderful with Tank. She was caring and very communicative, sent a lot of pics without having to ask! Tank seemed completely comfortable with her and I know she took very good care of him. As a protective mama bear, I know it takes a lot out of us to leave our precious pups in somebody else’s hand, so believe me when I say I do recommend Vlada as a sitter!

Thank you Nick for taking such good care of our Lupo while we were away ! Your attention and consideration toward him gave us ease of mind . The cute pictures and short reports were a sweet touch ! We are more than sure that Lupo had a good time being with you ! We will recommend you highly to others ! Thank you very much!

My 2 cats did not want to come home, Teddy is that good. They had fully moved in the week I went away and I think they'd love to stay. Teddy is just so incredible with cats, I've never had them stay with a sitter and have them adapt that quickly. Within a day they were comfortable with him, chilling out, purring, hanging out... with other sitters they hide for quite a while. I cannot recommend Teddy enough. To say that he's a cat whisperer is an understatement... he makes Jackson Galaxy look like an amateur. Teddy is thoughtful, diligent, responsive, responsible, kind, trustworthy and it all comes natural to him - it's just his character. Do not hesitate for a second to leave your cat(s) with Teddy because you will be able to enjoy your time away with the peace of mind that someone really amazing is watching your sweeties, and that is such a huge relief. I didn't have to worry at all and just enjoyed my vacation. Thank you so much Teddy! I'll be booking you again for sure!

From the moment we did our meet and greet I knew my fur baby was in good hands. She made us feel very welcome that already then, he was not ready leave and the meet up. He immediately love her calm presence and was begging for belly rubs. This is the first time a drop off felt so effortless and lightweight. She already had many variety of toys to play with , a dog feeding set up and a cozy bed. Which meant I was able to save the hassle and travel lighter. She took a great interest in finding out his likes, his routine. She sent me updates on his stay alone with very cute pictures. I was so reassured by how much fun and how calm he looks. She took him on lots of walks. When I picked his up he was so cute laying there peacefully. I’ve tried many sitters and this is the first time that I felt so at peace leaving him, I’m so glad I found someone that my dog meshes well with and doesn’t feel anxious with. As long as she available, she will be our go to sitter ! Thank you so much for taking care of Benji and thank you for the carrot 🥕 such a sweet gesture.

We couldn’t be happier with Tyson’s stay. Lisa took excellent care of him and kept us updated with photos from time to time, which we truly appreciated. As always, Tyson came back happy, calm, and clearly well looked after. It means a lot knowing he’s in such caring hands. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
