“Lianne was amazing! This was our first time leaving our two younger dogs for a prolonged period of time (ten days) and she was fantastic. Sent lots of updates- kept our house in great shape and was overall just great. We will definitely rebook and recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

About: I have always been around dogs my whole life, almost everyone in my circle has one! I love animals and spending time outside so this is the perfect opportunity! I have good patience in terms of puppies, teaching tricks and letting your dog sniff around! A daily walk is a dogs favourite part of the day and I would love to be the one to give them that! I am currently working part time as a server, which is amazing so I work most evenings and weekends. I am also a student studying in the Medical Laboratory Technician program so I’d love to spend my free time outside and with dogs! I have a friendly medium sized dog that I live with who is fully trained. He is taken for 2-4 walks a day and taken to parks to run around! In a clients home, I would ask to be walked through the home and shown which doors to use. I would also ask which areas within the neighborhood the dog likes best to visit on walks. I understand the anxiety when it comes to leaving your dog and/or house in the care of another so I would treat both with the best care possible.
About: I've had dogs and cats my entire life. I've also walked and done pet sitting for friends and family since I was a kid. I still do. I love animals and the more I get to see, the better! I am gentle and kind with pets. I handle stress well, and can handle high stress situations well I am available to watch, feed, walk, play with pets all the time, as I am working a job that lets me pick my own hours. I will probably ask a bunch of questions as I like to be extra sure that I am doing things the way that you want. If they have certain schedules, feeding practices, routines, specific treats at specific times. Everything I need to know. I am calm, gentle, and patient.

About: I have taken care of dogs most of my life, beginning from my high school days. I had dog-sat for neighbors and friends of mine many times as well, dogs of all sizes and ages. I have experience with senior dogs as my sister and I have a 15 year old dog, as well as experience with reactive pets as our second dog is a rescue from Mexico whom we got through Petsave! I have some experience in training puppies as well, including house training and leash training. I work full time currently, however my shifts vary from 8 to 12hrs depending on the week, and can be anywhere from an early morning to a late evening shift. Considering this, I can be available at different times throughout the day and am willing to work around your schedule to meet you and your pets needs! Whether that be dog walking, drop in visits, or overnight stays. In my home I currently have two cats, however I am unable to offer boarding services at this time. My services include dog walking, drop in visits or dogs or cats, and house-sitting at the clients residence.
“Where do I start? After a long search, we finally found the best sitter for our dogs! Jake was very accommodating to my 2 dogs & 3 cats! He stayed with them at our home while we were away. He is absolutely trustworthy, responsible and you can tell immediately that he is the perfect care giver for your pets. I received so many photo updates all through the weekend making me feel so relaxed and enjoyed my time. I have had terrible experiences with sitters before but Jake is absolutely amazing and I don’t think that we would ever trust anyone else with our pets/home. Thank you Jake! Will definitely be back!”

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs since I was young, and can handle them during the adjustment period, and if they need some encouragement to come out. I’m a timely communicator with owners, and can handle things such as feedings, cleaning, and just companionship in general :). I’m a part-timer looking for some flexible work as a full-time student. I have weekends and most Fridays off, and can work around my class times most days. I can provide timely feedings, companionship, frequent communication with the owners, and can clean up after them. I’m willing to adapt to what’s need :)
About: I’ve cared for my own dogs for years and have also helped friends and family with theirs, including large breeds. I genuinely love being around dogs and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or just giving them attention and affection, I enjoy spending quality time with them and treating them like part of the family. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine alongside part-time work. I’m home regularly, and my husband works from home, so pets are never left alone. I make sure they get consistent feeding, playtime, attention and daily walks or exercise, depending on their needs and I can safely keep pets separated if needed for comfort. I provide a calm, safe environment and supervise pets closely at all times. I live in a spacious, pet-friendly apartment where dogs are welcome and comfortable. I have a friendly, well-trained 3-year-old Golden Retriever who loves playing with other dogs and is very gentle. I also have crates available if needed. Since my backyard isn’t fenced, pets are always safely leashed or tethered outside and are never left unattended.

About: I have experience with both cats and dogs, and appreciate spending quality time with them. I’ve been a summer camp councillor at a gymnastics center, so I am quick on my feet, enthusiastic, and love physical activity - especially outside! I’m working part-time, so my schedule is flexible and I can spend extra time with them if needed. I am available throughout this summer, until I go back to university in Newfoundland in September. I can work with whatever set up you have in your home. I will be patient and kind with however comfortable your animals are with me.
“Jason was a phenomenal house & pet sitter! He went above and beyond our expectations and we would gladly book him again. Our multi-pet household is a big handful but he cared for them perfectly! We, and our pets are both extremely satisfied with his services. Would recommend to anyone looking for pet care!”

“Cassandra was an awesome sitter for our 3 pups! We had to head out of town at the last minute and we were very thankful she was available. She sent us lots of photos and updates. Wouldn't hesitate to book her again. Thanks Cassandra!”

“We had the absolute pleasure of having Melody look after our two dogs, Harley and Coco, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. Throughout their stay, Melody sent me multiple updates and adorable photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Harley and Coco felt completely comfortable and happy with her — they were genuinely at ease and well taken care of. I could tell they were loved just as if they were her own pets. I highly recommend Melody to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

We love Jake - he is amazing - reliable - loves dogs - updates with photos while you are away - has a great sense of humor - leaves your place clean as if he wasn’t there at all!! My girls are not stressed as they are in their own environment. I will definitely recommend Jake to others and use him again in the future.

5/5 Stars – Exceptional care for Snooki and our home! Kennedy recently house-sat for us overnight while we were away, and as always, she was absolutely fantastic. She is incredibly reliable and always punctual. From the moment she arrived, she kept us in the loop with initial check-ins and provided updates throughout the stay, including some adorable pictures. Seeing Snooki so happy made it clear she felt like she was spending the night with her bestie! Beyond the pet care, Kennedy was professional, respectful, and left our home spotless—she took great care of everything, including cleaning up after herself in the kitchen and bedroom. I felt completely at ease knowing both Snooki and our home were in Kennedy’s care. We highly recommend her!

Wow! Claudia was an absolutely incredible dog and house sitter. From the very beginning I could tell she was going to be a great fit for us, she was responsible and kind and communicative. She got along with my dogs so well and keenly observed when my senior dog came got a UTI and managed after hours vet care, virtual vet appointments, pharmacy visits all the while keeping me up to date! My house was sparkling when we got back, it's never been as clean as after her visit. I can't recommend Claudia enough!

Frankie provided excellent care for our two dogs in our home while we were out of the country. She was quick to offer a visit ahead of time to meet our elder boys, and provided updates throughout her stay with them. They were very well taken care of and she kept our home clean and tidy for our return. I would highly recommend Frankie, and will absolutely have her pet sit again in the future!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Greater Sudbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Greater Sudbury walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Greater Sudbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
