Shauna was amazing at taking care of both my active golden doodles. They loved cuddling with her on the sofa for some quiet time as well. She was punctual and sent updates during the day that made me feel reassured everything was ok at home. Thank you!

Brooke and Kyle were amazing, their place is so cozy and welcoming and our fur baby felt immediately right at home! Our girl (100lb Doberman) is on a raw diet and on meds (2x daily) and is super high energy and they handled it like champs! No issues whatsoever! I thought she would have some separation anxiety but she was so comfortable there I can't even be sure she noticed we were gone 🤣 Will definitely be sending our baby there in the future as needed.

About: My partner Brandon and I grew up with family dogs and attended puppy classes along the way. Before joining Rover, we were already trusted by friends for dog care. As an active couple, we understand the importance of exercise and enrichment for every pup! My partner Brandon works from home, allowing for frequent washroom breaks and exercise throughout the day. I’m home in the evenings to provide additional care, and together we’re available all week and many weekends. We don’t currently have a dog of our own, so your pup will enjoy our full attention. Our spacious backyard sits well away from the road, and while it isn’t fenced, we always keep dogs safely leashed.

About: Professional In-Home Pet Sitting ✔ Fully insured ✔ Pet First Aid & CPR certified ✔ Remote worker with a flexible schedule ✔ Specializing exclusively in overnight, in-home pet sitting Unlike sitters who divide their time between dog walking, daycare, and drop-in visits, I focus exclusively on caring for pets in the comfort of their own home. Because I work remotely, I'm able to spend the majority of my day with your pets, providing companionship, supervision, and consistency while you're away. Growing up on a family farm taught me that good animal care begins with observation. Animals can't always tell us when something is wrong, so learning their routines and noticing even the smallest changes became second nature. Today, that same thoughtful approach guides every booking. Whether you're traveling for a weekend, a business trip, or an extended vacation, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for in the place they know best—their own home. Keeping tails wagging and routines rolling. Because I work remotely during house sittings, I'm able to spend the majority of my day and evening with your pets—all I need is a reliable internet connection. Unlike sitters who balance multiple daily services, I specialize exclusively in overnight, in-home pet sitting. I prefer to stay in your home rather than commute back and forth, providing your pets with consistent companionship, supervision, and a stable routine while you're away. To provide the highest level of individualized care, I intentionally limit the number of bookings I accept. While I may occasionally step out for errands or personal commitments, I spend most of my time working and relaxing alongside your pets. I understand that inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pets is a significant responsibility. I believe trust is earned. I treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. When staying in your home, I respect your privacy, follow your household guidelines, and care for your property as responsibly as I care for your pets. During each house sitting stay, I carefully follow all instructions provided by the pet owner, including feeding routines, medication requirements, exercise routines, household preferences, and any special care needs. Maintaining your pet's normal routine is one of the best ways to help them feel comfortable and secure while you're away. I am committed to keeping your home clean, secure, and well cared for throughout my stay. Whether it's respecting household rules, monitoring the property, bringing in mail, watering plants, or providing regular updates and photos, my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are receiving thoughtful care and your home is in responsible hands.

5 stars!! Brooke was accommodating when I needed to reschedule our meetings (more than once) and provided updates and photos throughout her stay. More importantly, our dogs LOVED her! We were nervous finding a new sitter for our old dog and new pup but Brooke connected with both dogs instantly and we couldn’t have been happier:) Thank you Brooke!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parry Sound maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parry Sound walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parry Sound choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
