About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely love and understand cats. I’m a cat owner myself, so I know how important it is to have someone reliable, gentle, and attentive checking in on your pets while you’re away. I offer cat-focused drop-in visits where I can feed them, refresh their water, clean/scoop litter, give them playtime, cuddles if they want them, and send photo updates so you know they’re safe and comfortable. I’m especially good with cats who are shy, cautious, or need someone patient who won’t overwhelm them. I understand that every cat has their own personality, so I let them warm up at their own pace while still making sure they’re cared for properly. I’m also happy to follow detailed instructions for feeding routines, litter care, house rules, and any little habits that make your cat feel secure. My goal is to make your cat feel calm, cared for, and loved while giving you peace of mind that everything at home is being looked after. My main experience and comfort is with cats, but I’m also happy to help with calm, friendly dogs for drop-in visits, feeding, water refreshes, potty breaks, and short leash walks. Because I’m still building my dog-care experience, I only accept dogs who are gentle, leash-trained, and non-reactive. I always do a meet-and-greet first so I can make sure it’s the right fit for both me and your pet. I work full-time, but I’m available for drop visits before 8:30AM & between 12 and 1 PM & after 4:30 PM during the week and available most weekends and stats. I offer drop in visits at your home. This way, your pet does not need to feel the stress of being in a new environment.

About: ***No longer accepting bookings for reactive pets*** I’ve grown up with a menagerie of pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, chickens and even goats! I am particularly fond of looking after cats and dogs. I can’t wait to look after your animals in Fernie & am happy to take special requests! I typically work in the evenings so have lots of time during the day to walk your dogs or check in on your cats and other animals. I do have day shifts every so often, but have a very flexible schedule with shifts typically never longer than 6-8hrs. So, I’ll never be away from your animals for too long. I am unable to look after pets in my home as my roommate is extremely allergic to dogs and particularly cats. However, I am available to house / pet sit for you. Alternatively, I can just take your dog for walks around your neighbourhood. I am open to anything!

About: Helping your pets living their best life! I’m experienced with big size dogs, elder animals, giving medication if needed. I have my pet first aid course. But most of all, I’m a pet sitter that cares a lot about your pet’s well being and will adapt to all level of energy! I work evening shifts at Island Lake Lodge so my calendar is very flexible for walking your dog at mid day during the work days. For pet sitting, this season I’ll be working 8h/day except Wednesdays & Thursdays so I won’t be able to be full time with your pet at home. I walk dogs & do pet sitting within Fernie only. Always one dog at a time (or multiple dogs if they are from the same household). I also take care of cats & other pets and will give them all the love they deserve!

About: Couple of gals that love hiking and biking especially with pooches. Our dog has just recently gone to stay with her dog Dad for the winter and we are happy to open our home for dog snuggles as we are missing our four legged friend. Lots of experience as we both had rescues in the past that came with their quirks and spent a lot of time dog training. Love to be outside or even lazy days on the couch if that’s what your pooch prefers. Happy to accommodate for all shapes and sizes and energy levels. Even happy with the quirky ones. We would be caring for you dog/cat as a team, our schedules are varied between day and evening shifts so between the two of us they would get a lot of care and attention. We have a big fenced yard. Available space if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate. Three people in the house so usually someone around to keep them company, dog would be unattended for maximum 4 hours. We love to hike, run, bike and cross country ski so plenty of opportunity for adventure.

We had Skye house sit for us previously and were so happy with how well she took care of our cat, dog, and house that we used her again, and plan to keep booking with her. We arranged to meet up beforehand and were able to talk about the details of the arrangement. I received photos of our pets who looked very well taken care of, and when we got back from our trip, our house was just as clean as we'd left it. My partner and I are impressed with Skye. We found it responsible of her to do meet and greets before taking on a job, she communicated with us and kept us up to date, and she has great attention to detail. Thank you Skye!

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Fernie on Rover is $33.3 per visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 35 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Fernie. About 88% of Fernie sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Fernie stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fernie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
