“Brooklyn was the best and took such good care of our pups! She bought our dogs toys, took them for walks, and sent updates everyday with lots of pictures. I would highly recommend her!”

“Kelsey was absolutely phenomenal! She did an amazing job keeping me updated on my pups and how they were doing. On top of that, she was a pleasure to talk to and took great care of my home. Highly recommend!!”

“Polina did an amazing job watching our dog Cuddles for a week. We received pictures and videos daily. We returned to a happy dog who loves Polina. Thank you so much Polina, you are amazing and we are looking forward to book you again, so does Cuddles 😊”

“Blair took wonderful care of our dogs and home. She went above and beyond, with last minute changes and a medically complex dog. Would recommend to anyone that is normally reticent to leave their pups behind.”

“Hannah was great. She sent lots of pictures and videos which we loved cuz we missed our fur babies. Keeping in touch and knowing everything was good made our trip so much more enjoyable. Will definitely use her again!”

“Jordan met my pets before house sitting. I could tell right away that he was interested in my 2 dogs and a cat. He got down on their level and rubbed ears and neck exactly as they prefer. He was wonderful even doing little chores around the house unasked but very appreciated. All my pets are on meds and he managed them without difficulty even my cat’s ear med. Usually when I get home, my cat cries for a day as she is so happy to be back on her routine with me. This time she hardly peeped, letting me know that Jordan had been a pretty good substitute. I really wish I could keep Jordan a secret but I guess I need to share how good he is.”

“Sean took great care of our boys (cat & dog) - we came home to happy pets & the house in order Sean was very meticulous with his notes & followed thru - we plan to book with him again soon!”

About: In my future, i plan to start a rescue for animals in need and are injured. Animals are my best friend and i couldn’t ever imagine being without them. I’ve taken care of 10 dogs most of my life. My parents love animals so i’ve always been around different kind of animals. They currently have 3 bunnies, guinea pigs, 10 cocker spaniels, 1 lab, and 2 cats. When they are away i am the main person to take care of them since they also foster and i’m the oldest kid in the family. I know how to care for dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments and personalities. I also am experienced in special needs dogs, my parents have a cocker spaniel who has special needs and he’s the sweetest dog i’ve ever met. Me and my girlfriend, jenica do this together. I just recently started a new job at the hospital 40 hours a week so it might mainly be her at drop off or pick up if that’s the case i will let you know! but she is so caring and loving to animals!! she’s cared for many animals like horses, dogs, cats, and fish. she’s like an animal whisperer.. she always knows what the animal wants/needs and always tends to them. she especially knows how to make dogs feel at home. This isn’t a business for us it’s a special place for dogs to be happy and loved while their parents are away. especially to make their owners feel comfortable that their pup is in good hands!! 💛🐶 I had a senior dog , izzy who had cancer and i did my best to make her feel cared for through the time she had left. I really take my time caring for dogs with special needs and who are older, they need fun and love. 🐾 What i offer : • Boarding (Overnight stays) • At your home doggie sitting • Day care • Walking • Drop in visits • Clean, and spacious home • Structured play time, nap time and lovin time • fenced in yard for supervised outdoor play and potty time • A calm living space where pups are free to play and relax • Lots of squeaky toys and stuffed animals 🦴🧸 • 2 walks a day 🐕 if they need more we are happy to provide more walks :) • no crated home (unless your dog is crate trained and their crate is their safe space which we abide by) I understand how stressful it can be to leave your dog with someone new. That’s why i am firm on communication. I’ll send you updates, videos and pictures so you can see how much fun their having and be comfortable having them in my hands :) I am home most of the day, there may be a time where i have to run to do an errand like grocery shopping etc. My girlfriend is home all the time so she will be home to take care of your pups. Their safety and well being always comes first 🐶 Im 18 and work from home with my girlfriend. We are available 7 days a week. I have a fully fenced in yard so your pup can play outside and be safe. My home is tidy, and very clean. We make sure everything is put away. We know how it is to have a pup that likes to put everything in their mouth so we make sure to vacuum and mop. I live in a quiet little neighborhood. My house is a very spacious 4,000 square foot home and it was a church before it was turned into a house so it’s very unique. I have a cocker spaniel and a brittany mix, they are both very sweet and love new company. My brittany is 15 so he kinda just lays around but my cocker spaniel is 3 so she loveeesss to play.

About: Hi! I’m Sydney, and I love working with animals. I’m responsible, caring, and patient, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. I’ve had hands-on experience sitting, volunteering and shadowing in animal care settings, which helped me learn more about pet behavior, handling, and daily care. I’m comfortable following routines, paying attention to details, and giving each pet the care they need. I do work part-time so I will have some availability throughout the week and on weekends, making it easy to provide check-ins, feeding, playtime, and lots of care for your pets. I treat every pet like my own and always follow the owner’s instructions. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll provide a safe, clean, and calm environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and care.
About: I’ve cared for newborn puppies on multiple occasions, so I’m no stranger to tiny paws and big responsibility. I bring patience, love, and plenty of cuddles to every pet I care for. Caring for pets is part of my normal day-to-day life. I enjoy building my routine around their needs, whether that means morning walks, midday check-ins, or extra cuddle time. My own pets are cared for with a mix of routine, enrichment, and lots of love (okay… maybe a little spoiling). I stay attentive to their needs, moods, and habits, and I bring that same level of care to every pet I sit.

“Jacqueline was great with Harper and stayed with her for a week while we were on vacation. She gave me frequent updates and I was comfortable that Harper was well taken care of while we were gone!”

About: Able to take care of all dogs regardless of size and breed. Able to enrich their lives while in my care. Provide medication and use medical equipment as needed. Able to help out as much as possible during the weekends as I am generally available. Able to stay at your residence, conduct daily visits, or work something out to ensure they are well taken care of. If you’re anything like me, you treat your pet as your own child. Whatever is needed will be taken care of. Food, water, enrichment, walks, medication, litter/yard waste clean-up.
“Ashley did a great job watching our pups. Communication was fantastic… pics and texts, as we’d discussed up front. She even checked on our chickens when the weather became unseasonably warm! Thanks Ashley!”

About: I have a dog of my own that I take care of sometimes and have dogsat for several families around me for a couple years. I work a part-time job and am involved in extracurriculars, but I will have time as needed on some weekends and time off from school. I always feed the pets, take them outside on walks and nature time or just let them run around, and play with them for a while.
“Alex is a fantastic pet sitter. The instructions for my senior cat can be a bit complicated - Alex took care of her and our golden retriever so well. Highly recommend. She left our house the way we left it, was very communicative, and trustworthy person.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Butler
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,105 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Butler. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Butler walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Butler maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Butler choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Butler. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
