“Mark was absolutely wonderful! He's reliable, punctual, and so easy to communicate with. He sent thoughtful updates and photos throughout the day, which really put us at ease. Coco was genuinely happy to see him and couldn’t wait to hop in the car for a ride to a nearby dog run. It was clear she felt comfortable and cared for. Knowing Coco was in such great hands while we were skiing at Stratton made all the difference. We’re incredibly grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Mark to anyone.”

“Repeat customer, Stephanie (Net) is the best and goes above and beyond. We have a bunch of pets including a senior dog and a high energy middle age pup (cats, a lizard, oh my!) and she’s great with everyone. Highly recommend!”

“Anna watched our dogs in our home for a long weekend. She sent lots of updates with photos and our pups seemed happy to have her caring for them. Even our most shy and apprehensive dog warmed up to Anna quickly!”

About: I've been pet sitting for many years and now will be expanding onto Rover. I know our pets do so much for us and should be treated as family I'm dedicated to taking care of each customer with respect and professionalism, with or without 4 legs. I know you will feel at ease when away from your pet I'm dedicated to taking care of each customer with respect and professionalism, with or without 4 legs. I know you will feel at ease when away from your pet
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up around many different types of pets, most common were cats and dogs. I currently have two cats and one friendly dog of my own. I work 7:30-4 in Clifton Park during the week and can stop by before or after work for walks, feeding, and check-ins. I’m also available for overnight stays to keep your pets company in their own home. On weekends I’m more flexible—your pet can stay with me and join us for hikes and walks, or I can stay at your home if they prefer their own space or aren’t dog-friendly. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away! I don’t have a fenced in yard but I have 6 acres of land and walk my own dog regularl, often taking long walks down the road or around the property
“When our cat walked right up to Zhanara and rubbed against her leg, we knew she was a good fit. He doesn't do that for every newcomer. He has some medical needs that were not a problem. Zhanara shared her knowledge and love every day she was here. She respected our home leaving it just as we had left it. We will definitely be asking her to help us again.”

About: I grew up with dogs, from puppy stage to senior years, and I have never been without a pet. I have also owned and worked with horses since I was ten, so I possess a lot of animal sense and knowledge. By character, I am calm, observant, flexible, and reliable. My job allows me to set my own hours and work mostly from home, so I can easily accommodate your pet within my day or week! I enjoy walking and hiking. My own dog does not get left at home alone for more than 2-3 hours during the day. She has full roam of the house and sleeps on the bed with me at night. I will provide your pet with what he/she is used to having!
“She is the best with our pups! They adore and she takes really good care of them. Is very careful and attentive with our one dogs allergies, making sure he doesn’t eat his sisters food, which we are so greatful for!”

“When my usual pet sitter was out of town recently and I needed someone pretty last minute, I frantically started looking for someone to come for my dog and cat’s first in-home overnight stay. Libby was SO sweet, accommodating and patient with me, and immediately seemed to have a connection with my fur babies. She was prompt and courteous, and kept in touch during the stay including pictures. I’ll absolutely be calling Libby again!”
About: I have been caring for animals since I was a child. I started small with hamster and fish, eventually teaching myself to care for larger species through rigorous online teachings and experience. I work part time so that I can spend as much time working with and caring for animals as possible. Ideally taking care of at least 3 pets a day would be best case for me. I do not have the ability to care for pets in my home but I do have the knowledge and experience to crate fur babies when needed without causing them distress. I am familiar with getting animals of all domestic sizes into a state of calm for walks or sleep time or even cuddles after a long day of missing their folks.
About: I’ve taken care of a sick dog and a rabbit for 3 years now on separate occasions when the families go on trips. I always make sure to play with the animals. I currently work full time but am available any time around my scheduled work times! I will work very hard to make sure everything lines up to how it should even with my work schedule. I will make sure that everything is in place when I leave and I will keep the house clean! I will of course also take care of your pets and play with them!

I’ve had dogs all my life and realizing rover would be a great way of connecting me with great dogs and opportunities! Your pets safety and happiness are paramount. I aim to keep a stress free environment and to ensure you know everything is taken care of. Feel free to ask any questions or reach out, I’d be happy to have a chat to show you why I’d be a great sitter :). I work online, so travel has become a huge priority for me and a way i've found routine is staying at peoples homes for a few months, while watching their dog! Oh i've had dogs all my life, they are family to me in every way, most breaks I take throughout the day are to give my dog some love or take her potty

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for all kinds of breeds, from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Newfoundlands, and have experience with puppies as young as 3 weeks old as well as senior dogs up to 14 years old. I’m comfortable with dogs of all temperaments, energy levels, and care needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, learning basic commands, or prefers a slower pace, I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I have experience with basic training and enjoy helping reinforce good habits and routines in a positive way. Every dog has their own personality, so I like to take the time to get to know what makes them feel coming. My goal is to provide dependable care while giving pet parents peace of mind. At the end of the day, our pets are family, and I’ll treat yours like they’re part of mine. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, having pets myself, and I make it a priority to be dependable and punctual. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I do my best to maintain their normal schedule, whether that means walks, feeding times, play sessions, or drop in visits. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, making pet care something I genuinely look forward to each day. Safety is a top priority for me, especially during walks. I take the time to properly understand each pet’s behavior, triggers, and comfort level before heading out, and I stay attentive to their surroundings at all times to ensure they are secure and well managed. I like to follow key safety precautions like using properly fitted leashes and harnesses, avoiding high-traffic or overstimulating areas when needed, checking gates and doors carefully, and always keeping a secure hold on pets when entering or exiting spaces. I also focus on building trust with each pet by moving at their pace, using calm and consistent body language, and allowing them to become comfortable with me before expecting too much interaction. I pay attention to their signals and respect their boundaries, which helps create a sense of safety and reliability. Over time, this helps pets feel more at ease with me, making walks and in home care smoother and more comfortable for them.
“Nicole was just excellent with our dog Josie. She handled Josie’s anxiety so well and did so much to make sure Josie had a good time! She kept us updated frequently, and asked all the right questions. We would not hesitate to book Nicole again!”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals my entire life. Ever since I can remember my mother has been fostering dogs and I’ve always been right there to help her. I’ve owned dogs such as Bull Mastiffs all the way to Chihuahuas so size is no issue for me. Every dog me or my family have owned were taught all their tricks by me including sit, stay, speak, spin, leave it, quiet, lay, take it, etc. I am currently working a seasonal part time job Monday through Friday from 2:30-5:30, so I have plenty of time to check up on and play with your pup. I can crate your dog if needed. I usually feed my dogs 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can send pupdates for you and provide FaceTime calls if warranted for your furbaby.

FAQs for House Sitting - Buskirk
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 615 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Buskirk. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Buskirk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Buskirk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Buskirk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Buskirk. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
