“Tiffany has been a lifesaver for us just moving here. She Is patient and consistent with our dog helping him to adapt better. She spends time with him outside as well as inside making sure he has food and water before leaving.”

“After we had an awful first experience with rover with another Dog Walker, Deborah restored our faith in this service. What an incredible human, let alone dog walker. Consistent, great communication, and our dog adores her. I would go back to her 10 times out of 10!”

About: I've consistently had at least one cat and dog in my household at all times, if not two! I took Small Animal Care 1&2 in high-school. Durring summer breaks I went to horse camp where we learned how to safely handle, ride, and groom horses. I occasionally take care of my neighbors chickens when they go on vacation. I am currently working part-time and my schedule is made on a monthly basis. I'm available most weekends and weekdays after 1pm. Can do early mornings and late potty breaks. The house I live in has a large front yard and a larger backyard. It is unfenced but in a safe neighborhood that's perfect for walking
“Cory was great with my dog, who can be difficult and high energy. He sent plenty of pictures and updates during the visit. I highly recommend him - especially if you are looking for someone that will be patient with your pet!”

About: I have 20+ years of pet experience with dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, and more. I am available for dog boarding in my home for multiple dogs. I am comfortable giving medications. I can make multiple visits to your home while you are gone. Let me know what your needs are and we can find a suitable accommodation for your pet. They will be loved like our own. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools my children. Most of our days are wide open and I can easily accommodate taking care of other pets. I will look after your pets like I do my own. I will make sure they always have the proper food and water and are never left unattended. I can meet a variety of needs for many different pets.

“Rhonda was fantastic! I love getting pictures of our boys walking and cuddling while we were gone! She made me feel very comfortable from the very first time meeting the boys! Her communication definetly made us not worry! I would highly recommend her for any services :)”

About: As the daughter of a pet-sitting business owner and veterinary technician, I’ve been caring for animals from an early age. With over 10 years of experience working alongside my mother and in veterinary offices across Northern Virginia, I’ve learned that every pet is unique and deserves individualized care. Before moving back to Northern Virginia in 2023, I also owned a successful pet-sitting business in St. Croix, USVI. My own pets have taught me a lot as well—my pit mix, Bella, survived both a fighting-breed environment and Hurricane Maria, and my two rescue bassets struggled with separation anxiety, as well as our Moluccan cockatoo we raised from a nestling. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I’m a non-smoker, organized, and detail-oriented. I’m also available for last-minute needs and those holiday plans that sometimes run longer than expected. Above all, I take this work seriously and will care for your pet with the same love I give my own. 🐾🖤 Working mainly from home allows me the flexibility to plan my days around feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for. In my home or a client’s, I follow each pet’s usual routine for feeding, walks, play, and rest, while giving them plenty of love and attention to keep them comfortable. We can work on learning new tricks and reinforcing obedience training.

About: I have several years of animal care under my belt, to which I can provide references upon request. I have watched dogs ranging from 2 weeks to 15 years old, friendly to timid, and big to small, so I have a variety of experience and understanding of the needs of each pup. I currently babysit during the day a couple days a week which varies. This commitment is only part of my day, which allows for plenty of time to drop by to walk/feed where might be needed. I am comfortable with any requests from clients in regards to how they wish for me to care for their animals whether it be crating, keeping on a closer leash, etc.
About: I have pet sat for my Nextdoor neighbors for years and I have also had dogs my entire life and had to take care of them I work best in the early mornings and later afternoon on weekdays and almost anytime works on weekends I’m mostly flexible and available to be there for your pets I always make sure the pets are fed and have gone potty and I make sure that there are not to many things they can get into or on top of I also notify the owner immediately if I feel something isn’t right or if they is a problem with the pet of if I have a question
About: I would love to come watch your dog/cats for a few hours that way they don’t feel alone. Thank you and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me, you can call, text, or email. If you would like pictures throughout the walks or even me just sitting and keeping your animal company I could send pictures to you, I know how I would be nervous with someone new around my animal, so to make you more comfortable I’d be more then happy to send them to you! Thanks again and have a great day! I’m a stay-at-home mom but now that my daughter is starting kindergarten I’ll be free from 9:15-2:30. If this works for you then please message me!! I’m used to having to harness and walk dogs on a leash, my own dog is not leashed trained so I’m used to dogs pulling and tugging if your dog pulls and you are worried the person that walks them would be angry over that.
About: Hi! I’m home for the summer and excited to spend time doing something I love, caring for animals. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and I recently lost my own, which reminded me just how much animals mean to me. While I don’t have time for a full-time pet right now, I still stay involved by volunteering every week at a local animal shelter and helping care for the cat I live with at school. I also worked as a vet assistant for a year, so I’m experienced with pets of all ages and temperaments. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or anything in between, I’ll treat your pet with the same love and care I gave my own. I’m currently taking an online summer course with a very flexible schedule, so I’m available throughout the summer for pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits. Since I’m not working right now, I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays, I’m happy to help however I can! In your home, I follow your pet’s routine closely, feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions, so they stay comfortable and happy while you’re away. I make sure they get plenty of attention and care!
About: I've worked in animal shelters, doggy daycares, and grooming salons. My life is centered around animals, and I can't wait to be there for your furbabies as well! I drive my daughter to and from school every other week, but otherwise I have a very open and flexible schedule to accommodate your busy family! I have had special needs animals and have owned dogs, cats, lizards, etc.. I have a lot of hands on experience in animal-handling and safety, and have walked and pet-sat for parents on Wag for almost two years!
About: I was raised with dogs (shelties, primarily) and now have a hobby farm with goats, dogs (german shepherds, a lab and a sheltie), ducks and a cat. I'm reliable and friendly and happy to follow whatever instruction and routine you need. Your pets will be well cared for and you'll receive plenty of photo updates while you're gone! I have a very flexible schedule, so I am able to accommodate nearly any routine your pet is used to, including frequent walks and potty breaks. I will work with you to keep your pet's schedule as close to what they are used to as possible. If boarding in my home, we have a fenced yard, plenty of area to go on leashed walks, and they will get plenty of one on one attention and care. I'm happy to do transport or add in a bath during your pet's stay so your life can be as simple as possible while you're trying to get out the door for your trip. Pet care is my full time job and priority. I can adapt as needed to make sure your pet keeps the routine they are comfortable with, even when you aren’t home. I will ask questions and take notes on your pets’ routine and then do my best to ensure that those habits are in place with me.
About: My family has a small farm with 3 German Shepherds and 3 cats, as well as cows, chickens, fish, and a bunny.Since i was born, there has never been a day where animals haven’t been apart of my life. Genuine care and love is all any animal deserves and i’m here to give it! Your fur baby or babies will be well cared for and loved like they're family. I just graduated high school and am taking some time to myself before starting college so I am always home and looking for some new four legged friends. I will feed and provide water as needed, regular walks or potty breaks outside and lots of play time. I can give medications if needed or take them to any kind of vet/groom visits.
About: I love animals. I will take the best care of your pet. I'm fine with handling aggressive ones and bigger dogs too. I've taken care of animals all my life, so you can travel without a worry. About: I've been caring for dogs since I was young. I currently have four furry friends and it is a joy to be with them! I enjoy all activities that I do with them and try to make each one memorable! I am currently available for most if not all days of the week. (except when on vacation :) ). I usually get up pretty earlier, around 6/6:30 so if any early risers need some help, I'm your gal! Just reach out and we can find the times and days that work best for both of us! I will be able to watch out for your dogs and they are in safe hands. Whatever routine you want them on, I will uphold that to make sure our furry friend are not thrown into a funk!
About: I have been around dogs my entire life and have been a proud dog owner since I was a young kid. I know exactly what it takes to keep a pup happy and healthy. In addition to raising my own dogs, I have extensive experience caring for others' pets. I regularly host family friends' dogs, have completed overnight house sittings (including 3+ night stays), and frequently manage dog walking schedules. Because my own dog at home prefers to be an 'only child,' I do not offer boarding at my house—meaning your dog gets 100% of my attention right in the comfort of their own familiar environment. (Please note: I do not care for cats due to allergies!). I am a recent college graduate spending my summer strictly focused on studying for my medical school entrance exams. Because my entire schedule consists of independent laptop study, I treat house sitting as my personal, quiet study retreat. Your dog will be my primary focus! I love using my study breaks to get outside, stretch my legs, and take your pup for long, refreshing walks. I am home for the vast majority of the day, making my schedule flexible and reliable. I know how important it is to feel secure leaving your home and pet in someone else's hands. I am clean, quiet, and extremely respectful of your space. While watching your pup, I follow their exact routine down to the letter to keep their stress levels low. I maintain an eagle-eye view on safety during walks, keeping dogs securely on-leash and away from unknown animals. Plus, I love sending regular photo and text updates so you have total peace of mind while you're away!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
