“Avery is absolutely wonderful! She’s so sweet and caring, and my dog Munch loves going to her house. He felt comfortable right away and got along perfectly with her cats—no issues at all. It’s clear that Avery has a natural way with animals and provides a warm, welcoming environment. I always feel at ease knowing Munch is happy and well cared for with her. Highly recommend!”

“Justyce was great with Koda! She was kind, dependable, and took wonderful care of him while I was away. Koda seemed happy and comfortable with her, which gave me peace of mind. I’d definitely recommend Justyce and book with her again”

“Super nice and friendly, gives updares and provides pictures every day and flexible on pickup and drop off times. Definitely recommend 💯 and will leave my dogs with her any day.”

About: I lost my two dogs back to back within the past few years and my heart is empty but not ready to get a new dog. I’m retired from the Air Force and a stay ant home mom and have lots of time to care for pets . I’m very active and absolutely love dogs and understand the crucial importance of exercise and activity to their health. Available currently weekends and evenings only since I work full time. I am planning on retiring next year at which time I will be ready to try this full time. I will respect and follow instructions exactly as a former pet owner, I understand how important it is to follow owner’s wishes when it comes to pet care.
“We would highly recommend Tracy for keeping your dog. He and his wife Tammy treated our dog Spirit like she was theirs. She was allowed most any where in the house. Tracy did her favorite thing by walking her 4 times a day. He gave us progress reports an pictures every day. So that we didn’t miss her quite as bad. We will definitely be leaving her with him again.”

“We have two puppies one big 8 month old and one little five month old. They both are moderate energy levels. They are not completely potty trained or fixed. She said they did great with no issues. She sent us pictures each day. They both seem to enjoy hanging out there and playing. She had them for four nights. We would definitely recommend her.”

About: I've cared for dogs for many years through my own pets, regularly caring for friends' and family members' dogs, and volunteering with animals at a shelter. During college, I frequently watched dogs/cats for classmates while they were away, including providing feeding, walks, playtime, and general supervision. I also provided extended care for an active-duty military friends dog while they were deployed. I currently have my own dog and am comfortable following individual routines and making sure pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m primarily available Friday evenings through Sunday, with my weekend availability running until around 7 PM on Sunday. I can also accommodate shorter weekday visits, such as potty breaks or walks, between approximately 6–8 PM when needed (just send a message first!). I work full-time during the week, so I’m mainly a weekend sitter and am happy to provide consistent weekend care. I take pet safety and individual routines seriously and will follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, and other care needs. For drop-in visits, I can provide potty breaks, neighborhood walks, or supervised playtime, including trips to the dog park when appropriate. I have my own friendly dog, Millie, so dogs staying in my home would need to be comfortable around other dogs. I live in an apartment, so dogs in my care get regular outdoor walks and supervised exercise.
About: I pride myself on being dependable, communicating regularly with pet parents through updates and photos, and following each pet’s routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is to provide not only exceptional care for your pets but also peace of mind for you. Pet care is a meaningful part of my weekly routine. I set aside time each day for walks, feeding, playtime, exercise, and companionship. I am dependable, flexible, and committed to providing safe, loving, and attentive care that keeps every pet happy, comfortable, and following their normal routine. I follow each pet’s routine with feeding, fresh water, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of affection. I provide a safe, clean environment and regular updates.
About: My husband and I have both grown up with many different dog breeds. We’ve recently adopted two puppies, and went through the process of training them to where they are now. From potty training from 8 weeks, to leash and recall training we’ve learned the patience and methods to correctly instill these habits into our pets. We’ve helped both friend and families by taking care of their pets when they are away for travel, handling dogs ranging from miniature chihuahuas to Great Danes, and every age group including senior dogs. We’ll make sure your pet gets the best care, wether that be from previous experiences we’ve had or by learning something new so your dog is always happy! We work but have a flexible schedule, we work our schedules around our dogs. Waking up early to allow them to burn energy. We’re both home for lunch to allow our dogs to have a potty break and play, then by 3pm our dogs get the rest of the day to eat and play as they please. Our dogs eat at 6:30am, play till 7:30am, potty break from 11am-1pm, at 3pm dogs are let out to play and dinner at 5pm, bed time is 8pm

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Burkville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Burkville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Burkville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
