“Mary was amazing!! My dog does not normally like new people but he loved Mary and she took great care of him. I even had to book last minute because of a funeral. I was able to be fully present with my family at our time of loss because my dog was so well cared for. Thanks Mary!!”

“She was truly a great find. Milo was very well taken care of and provided plenty of walks and pics while I was gone. I will keep her on my list and pleased that she would take Milo again. Excellent!”

“Julie was wonderful and extremely accommodating for my young puppy, Moose. We ended up booking last minute and Julie was happy to take Moose for the 4th weekend. We also ended up with a different arrangement and had to end the stay early and Julie was very sweet”

“Sara and her family provided a wonderful home for our two dogs while we were on a trip! They have a large fenced-in backyard where they could run around and play with Luna. They came home happy and pooped from all their fun. We are so grateful, and will definitely use them in the future!”

“Denise is very friendly! She invited us over for a “meet and greet” before we booked and that was super helpful. She kept us up to date with texts and pictures while we were away. Marlo was well taken care of care of, and it was so nice to travel “worry free”. We’d highly recommend and will definitely book again! Thank you so much!”

“Michelle was wonderful! She made sure my pups felt completely comfortable the whole time. I loved getting so many photo updates every day. I always knew they were in great hands. I will definitely book with her again!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Brea. She watched both our cat and dog at her house. She was willing to exercise our dog nearly every day as he is high energy. She sent daily pictures and updates. She also got them a Christmas gift! We are thankful we found her. Our dog came home tired and worn after his time with Brea.”

“Both my dogs had a great time with Rebecca and her family over the weekend! She was very good with communicating updates and I loved hearing how much fun they were both having, especially with their other dogs!”

“Alex was great! Fantastic communications from the meet and greet through drop off and pick up. He sent photos of our pups almost every day. They were well taken care of and happy when we picked them up!”

“Erica was great sitter! They have a huge yard, so that was perfect for my dog. My dog s handicapped doesn’t have use of his hind legs and they did a great job managing his mobility. Even made him sweet potato when he had diarrhea. Erica also was very communicative which I very much appreciated :)”
“Nix had a great time at Kerstyn's home. She is a great communicator and updates you frequently. Nix was wore out after 2 days of playing with her 2 pups. They all got along great ! We will use Kerstyn again in the future, Thanks again !”

“I was gone for 10 days and was nervous about leaving my dogs. They had fun making new friends and were well taken care of. Thanks to Melissa for the great job. She reassured this nervous mama via text and let me know my girls were doing great. She even reported that my picky eater ate!”

“I absolutly love Alex and her husband. They are very flexible and are wonderful with my boy. They have always welcomed him with open arms and are so easy and a joy to work with. I love getting pictures and updates while I am away and can always trust my boy will have a great time. It's also always a joy to see their two dogs. I know my dog is safe and happy with Alex while I am away.”

“We had a great experience with Matthew! He took great care of our dog while we were away, sent photo updates and had great communication. Pickup and dropoff was when he said and when so smooth! Would love to send our pup with him again!!”

“Our pup was so happy to be at Breanna and Olivia’s! He loved playing with their dogs. I appreciated all the photos that were shared during his stay. It was clear he was well cared for. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Buckman home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Buckman.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Buckman sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
