“Fantastic help, she watched our boys while we were out of town and made sure to keep us in the loop! She gave medicine (to cats!), swept, and scooped litter. What I appreciated most was she took some initiative while we were gone and ensured our faucet was dripping during cold snaps. Could not recommend more highly, your pets will be well looked after.”

“Cindy does a great job. She's very kind and thorough. And she's reliable as well as supportive. I truly appreciate her help with my kitty when I have to go away. I will definitely book her again ☺️”

“Thank you Rebecca for taking such good care of Sven and Sophie for us! We really appreciate you getting our mail, cleaning up their accidents and baking us muffins too! The pictures are great, it looks like Sven had a great time with you, thank you!! 🙏 🫶”

“This was our first time hiring a pet sitter at our camp, and Paul made the whole experience easy. He was reliable, sent regular updates, and our mini australian shepherd, Ziggy, clearly felt comfortable with him. We scheduled a meet-and-great in advance of the first visit to give Paul the lowdown on the routine, and he followed through perfectly on the second visit. We will definitely have Paul help us out in in 2026.”

“This was my first time using Rover and Amanda. I'm sold. I was a nervous wreck, but after meeting Amanda I immediately knew my old pup would be in the best hands. She was very caring toward my dog and I received pictures for each visit. I highly recommend Amanda.”

“If perusing rover for care of your conpanion(s)? Stop here ! Joanne came by twice to keep our pups company with walks and play , as well as feeding them dinner . The fabulous shared photos share that ,and give such peace in absense that it’s not a second thought on ‘hope they are alright ‘ I will most definitely be reaching back to her when our adventures can’t include the pups !”

About: this is my dream job!!! i’m so excited to be able to hang out with your pets! i love all kinds of animals and will always go out of my way to say hello, even if that means going to the dog park without my dog. i just moved here from maine, and heading to college in chicago in the fall, so im looking to explore and area and make some extra money! We just moved into a new house and neighborhood, so I’m totally open to care for any animal as we get settled! I love taking my dog on walks and playing or napping with my cat. I also love just chatting with them about my day or reading them stories when we relax. I care for my own animals everyday, and I know how nerve wracking it is to leave them alone with someone new! I promise to make them feel so loved, safe, and make sure their bellies are full! I believe in very reliable communication and will make sure to update you on your furry friends often!
About: Hi I’m Abby! I’m so excited to take care of any animals, big or small! I actually have a little experience with dog training through school, as well as taking care of my own pups! I have taken care of cats and dogs basically my whole life, and as a college student I miss my animals a ton! I would love to take care of any animals as needed! I’m currently a college student at Farmingdale State so my hours vary. I would be free early in the morning before 9:00am, in the afternoon my schedule will vary but I am generally available anytime from 12:00-5:00, in the evening anytime after 8:00. Since I am in college my schedule will always change depending on what you are needing! Since I am in college I am unable to board any dogs at the moment, but i am able to care for your dogs in any way needed. This would include stop in visits, going on daily walks, or even over night stays. Whatever service is needed I will be able to accommodate with whatever needs you have.
“I am very pleased with Jonathan for taking care of my dog Piper on Christmas day. She can be a nervous dog but she took to Jonathan very well and was very happy to see him. He has a gentle nature with pets and I highly recommend him to care for your fur babies.”

“Lianna did a great job! Kept me updated on all the ins and outs of the pups throughout the two days I was away. She was punctual and communicative. Thanks for taking great care of Taz and Molly!”

“Caitlynn is the absolute best. I have 3 crazy pitbulls and she handles them beautifully. They are not easy dogs to keep safe, but Caitlynn makes it look effortless. It’s been years since my husband and I have been able to travel, but now that we have Caitlynn in our lives there are many things that we can look forward to knowing we can count on her. She stayed for over 2 hours getting to know us, our home, and furbabies before we had her over. She really made sure we were all comfortable and we are so grateful for that. We love Caitlynn and can’t wait to have her back💖”

“Kiera is a sweetheart! We met prior to the check ins and i felt very comfortable. She was there on time for the times I asked, late evening and early morning. She sent great pics and I could tell my dog was well and happy!”

“Brenna did an excellent job taking care of our kitties. She is very trustworthy. She took multiple pictures of our girls which made us feel at ease that they were doing good & in good hands while we traveled.”

“Holly took wonderful care of Jade while we were away! She stayed in contact with me, sent lots of pictures and gave Jade lots of love. I will definitely look to book with her again when needed.”

While I pursue this, I also work full time in an animal emergency clinic. I have had 2+ years of animal emergency experience, including large dogs and cats, and even reptiles like snakes! I am comfortable pilling animals and have direct access to emergency care 24/7 in case your fur babies need it❤️. I currently own 2 cats of my own and a ball python. I’ve owned large dogs my whole life including a Cane Corso & Giant Schnauzer! I currently work full time in the animal emergency clinic. My schedule is Tuesday 11a-11p - Friday 7a-7p - Saturday 1p-1a and I do pick up shifts here and there. With this being said, I can come by before and/or after my shifts. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
