“You can tell that Michelle truly loves being with Animals and she loves her job. She goes above and beyond every time we are one of her clients. She’s a gem and we are so lucky to have found her!”

“Ashley is the best, she takes such good care of my boys, even if they are not behaving. She loves them like they are her own, she is one in a million so grateful for her.”

“Ann was wonderful with our dog. She was very responsive to messages, and updated us all day while she was watching him. She came by and met him a few days before, and was really understanding about him being skittish near new people. Would definitely recommend her, and hope to work with her again in the future! Thanks Ann!”

About: I've had dogs since I was a child. I feel comfortable handling dogs with all sorts of quirks & needs. I have owned/lived with dogs of all ages and breeds but have a soft spot for seniors. I currently have a 13 year old pit mix who enjoys daily walks. I am passionate about animals, and I am committed to providing amazing care to your dogs/cats! I am currently working full time during the week. My availability for walking during the week after 4:30pm and I am flexible on the weekends. When with your animal, I will treat them as I treat mine - with care, love, and compassion. I am extremely responsible and committed to the safety of your pet above all.
“Haley was really great and communicative with us! I could tell our pets were cared for and she took care our house while we were away. We will definitely be repeat clients for our next venture if she'll keep having us!”

“Rebecca is great! My pups adore her. They are both on several medications and she is great at administering them. She also is quick to reply and sends pictures often. I trust her completely with my home and babies.”

About: I’ve mostly dog-sat for family and am excited to branch out. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, from French bulldogs to Great Danes. I love making dogs feel comfortable while their owners are away and always follow routines. I treat every dog like my own. I am currently working part time as a waitress on weekends and Wednesdays. I am also a full time college student, half online and half in person. I follow owner instructions and keeping pets in their normal routine while in their own home. I’m attentive to doors, leashes, and schedules, and I make sure pets feel comfortable and well cared for. I communicate with owners and update them if anything seems out of the ordinary.
About: I've cared for many pets during my life including exotics, cats, dogs, and birds in all age groups from babies to seniors. I will treat your fur babies like my own. I am currently retired with my husband. We eschool our twin boys during the day. I can pop out to do pet care and have a flexible schedule. We do travel a lot during school breaks and in the summer. I am eager to help out with home visits or walks. I enjoy all kinds of pets and don't shy away from those who need special care. Typically I visit dogs in their homes three times per day at whatever schedule works best for the pet and me. Some may need more or less visits and I can be flexible. I do not care for dogs or cats in my home. My two cats don't like other pets, unless it's a pet that lives in a small crate or cage, such as a guinea pig.
“Did a wonderful job house sitting for my 4 dogs! Was very responsive and sent pictures/videos for us. I felt like she was very reliable and followed all instructions I had for each of my dogs.”

“Justin was amazing! I’m so grateful he took such great care of my baby Nittany. She’s on multiple seizure medications, so I needed someone truly reliable to give them on time, and Justin absolutely delivered. He even kept a close eye on her sneaky ways of trying to avoid them (not surprised, lol)! I would 100% book with Justin again and recommend him to everyone on this app. Thank you, Justin!”

About: We have owned our great Pyrenees mix for 8 years now, and have boarded our families dogs when needed. Our dog loves to have friends over. We are a flexible and loving home. My husband and I have jobs where we are able to work from home every day of the week, so your dog will be with a trusted sitter 24/7. We have a fenced in yard and plenty of room for a second dog. We routinely take walks with our dog and would love adding another.
“Highly recommend Amy! Plenty of pictures & videos! Great communication! Dogs were happy & healthy! The house was even clean when we returned! Couldn’t ask for a better a sitter for my pups! Will be using Amy again!”

About: I have been watching since I was 20 years old. I watched friends dogs, siblings dogs and I used to have a Jack Russell beagle mix. His name was Milo. I work Monday through Friday, but I drove a truck. I’m on the road all day so I have the ability to come home. Check on the animals play with them. Feed them walk them throughout the day. I usually get off at 4 PM. No matter if I’m in some ways home or the animals are at my house I love to go out for walks with dogs and play with pets in general pet them. Let them sit on my life and just spend time with them so they never feel lonely.
About: Owned dogs for majority of my life, a couple rescues and one that the owner could no longer care for. Get along with every dog I have met. Willing to drive them to different locations for walks and to get them out of the house. Very trustworthy with people, animals, and homes. Have experience walking animals and house-sitting. Want to help people with their pets to ensure everyone is happy and healthy. I feel dogs deserve so much in life and my hope is that I can repay them for what they have given me by making sure they are happy. Also want to help their owners because I remember how stressful it was when I would go on vacations or even short trips and worrying about our dogs and if they would be cared for.
“Elyza was fantastic with my dog Cholula while I was out of town! She was communicative, friendly and left my apartment in great condition while watching Cholula. She was transparent during our scheduling and took note of all of Cholula’s quirks to ensure I felt as comfortable as possible while I was out of town. I couldn’t recommend her enough if you’re looking to have someone watch your pet while away!”

“Miss Penny was so professional and personal right from the beginning. She took such great care of our pups and sent tons of pictures. I will absolutely ask Miss Penny to watch our doggos again, and I would recommend her to anyone confidently.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Brighton
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,286 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brighton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brighton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brighton. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
