About: Whether your furry friend needs a walk, a playdate, or a cozy companion while you’re away, I’m here to make sure they feel loved, safe and spoiled! I love animals of all shapes and sizes, and my experience goes beyond the usual four-legged friends. I also have experience caring for exotic frogs and reptiles, so I’m no stranger to pets that are a little more unique! I am currently working part time so I have plenty of time and flexibility to provide different levels of care! Dogwalking I can provide on much shorter notice (sometimes same day) and I can be fairly flexible for daysitting as well. Please let me know of any medical needs or specific habits of your pet I should be aware of to keep them as comfortable and in their routine as possible. Thank you! I am located downtown so I unfortunately do not have the ability to house any pets, however, I have ample access and familiarity with some wonderful walking trails in the area as well as the local dog park. If it works with my schedule, I can also sit your pets at your/their home if you want to keep them in a familiar environment at a competitive cost.

“John stayed the day with our two dogs. It was our first time using him, so he was kind enough to come meet the pups a couple days prior to sitting them - to make sure it was a good fit. The dogs immediately liked him & approved! He arrived on time, sent pictures during the day, and was very polite. I plan to use him again :-)”

About: With a lifetime of experience caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs and cats, I'm dedicated to giving every furry friend the love and attention they deserve. I'm here to work closely with you to ensure your pets' unique needs are met with personalized care and affection! As a current full time nursing student at Liberty University, spending time with your pups or kittens offers me a delightful break from my studies. I am in class/clinical Monday and Thursday's so I have a variety of days to provide your precious pets with the attention and care they deserve. While caring for pets in your home, I am to prioritize maintaining their routine while you are away. I follow the instructions left closely and ensure they receive the same level of care and attention as if you were there! This includes: * Feeding and hydration: I will follow your pet's feeding schedule and dietary needs and ensure they have fresh water at all times. * Exercise and Play: I engage in their favorite activities and walks to keep them well exercised and happy. Of course, adjusting according to their energy levels, and preferences. * Health and Hygiene: I monitor the health of your sweet pet, note any changes and immediately notify you, the owner, at the sign of any discomfort or illness. I also will attend to basic grooming such as brushing. * Companionship: Most importantly, I will provide plenty of love and attention to your furry companion! I will do my best to keep them company and ensure that they feel secure and loved as there owner is away. When a pet stays in my home, I create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for them that mimics their home life as closely as possible. My approach is as follows: * Comfort and Safety: I ensure that your pet has a designated place to relax, with cozy bedding and a secure area where they can feel at ease. * Routine Feeding, Hydration and Grooming: I will stick to the pet's regular feeding schedule and dietary requirements and their grooming routine as instructed. * Daily Activities: I will follow the pet's normal exercise and playtime amount into my daily routine - ensuring both mental and physical stimulation to keep your pet happy! * Health Monitoring: During their stay, I will keep a close eye on their overall behavior and health and am prepared to reach out to a vet if needed. (The closest 24hr Emergency Vet being only 8 minuets from my location!) In both settings, I aim to do what is the absolute best for your pet! My goal is to provide for your four-legged friend with a caring, attentive and safe environment that meets their needs.

“Mia was amazing. She is very professional and kept me updated throughout the time I was gone. She wanted to know everything about Loki and took notes to be on top of things over the weekend I had her dog sit. I strongly suggest first-time customers book with her if you want a completely stress free booking. I will 100% go with Mia the next time I need a dog sitter, knowing not only I, but my dog Loki, will have a pleasant experience.”

About: I’ve taken care of 10-15 dogs over the years as well as 4 cats. I love animals and think they are so special and every animal has such a unique story and deserves to be cared for in a loving way! I’m currently a full time student but most of my classes are online which allows for me to be available lots of times! The more of a heads up I get the better but I’ll make anything work if I’m free! I don’t keep pets in my own home. So this section isn’t very applicable to the services I will be offering. But I am more than happy to care for pets in their homes or take them on walks!
“April took very good care of our two cats. As cats tend to be, they are both shy of people they don't know, but she did eventually make friends with one of them. We appreciated that April understands and has personal experience with cats. She was excellent about communicating with us, including sending photos from her visits. We would be happy to have April cat sit for us again.”

“Eleni was amazing for us this week! We’ve never left our three dogs for this long and ended up having a few curveballs, but she graciously handled a dog in heat and a few days of unexpected diarrhea. She went above and beyond and kept us updated every step of the way. We would absolutely use her again in a heartbeat.”

About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. As a pet owner myself, I understand that our pets are family members, not just animals. My personal dogs receive the same love, attention, and care that I would want for any pet entrusted to me. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats, including owning and operating a nonprofit animal rescue for five years. Through my rescue work, I cared for hundreds of dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, special-needs pets, and dogs recovering from illness or surgery. I am experienced with administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or veterinary care. I know that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will care for them as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive care and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Because I spend a significant amount of time at home, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and will work with you to ensure your pet’s schedule, feeding times, medications, and preferences are followed closely. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, I can provide the level of care and attention they need. Safety is always my top priority. My experience running an animal rescue taught me how to properly introduce dogs, recognize signs of stress, manage different personalities, and provide a safe environment for pets with varying needs. I have a securely fenced yard and closely supervise outdoor time. I can also accommodate medications, special feeding instructions, crate training, and senior pet care.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
