“Amanda was amazing from the first meeting to the end of my vacation. Communication (pics included) was great. She wasn’t afraid to ask questions and share concerns. My boy Lotus is a scaredy-cat and quite shy but he took to Amanda day one. I felt very confident my babies were very well cared for while I was away. Great relief knowing I didn’t have to worry about them and could focus on fun.”

“This was the first time I used Rover and I liked the way everything was set up. Sara was great with my cat, Izzy. She is a little shy with new people but she was able to pet her at our meet and greet. By her second drop in visit Izzy was more friendly. I loved the updates and the notes each day and especially the pictures! I would definitely use Sara again.”

“Erica was an absolute perfect fit for our three big dogs. They each have their own personalities and she tended to each one with love, care, and absolute attention to detail and professionalism. I would recommend her to anyone with animals that they love as family.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to help with feeding, walking, playtime, and check-ins. I’m patient, attentive, and make sure every pet feels comfortable and cared for. Whether it’s a high-energy pup or a more relaxed companion, I adjust to their needs and routine to keep them happy and stress-free. I’m available weeknights and weekends, which gives me plenty of time to provide attentive, quality care for your pets. I’m flexible with scheduling and can accommodate evening drop-ins, walks, or overnight stays. On weekends, I have more open availability for extended care, playtime, and boarding if needed. I’m reliable and make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and consistency they’re used to. I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment where your pet will feel comfortable and cared for. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, and any special needs. I take safety seriously by keeping a close eye on pets at all times, using secure leashes on walks, and making sure they’re always in a safe space. My goal is to make your pet feel at home and give you peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I grew up with several different dogs and animals of all kinds. I love any type of critter and in the past I have taken care of senior, young, and special needs animals, and love them all dearly. I just graduated and am looking for some good work over the summer! I currently have a fully open schedule and need to fill up some time I always make sure that any animal I take care of is always safe and sound. I make sure to never let dogs out without a leash, and am always careful to make sure a cat never sneaks out the front door when going in and out. And I always make sure to remember things easily forgotten, such and changing out their water!
“Alyson is an attentive and caring sitter going above and beyond. During her stay my cat had an emergency medical issue that Alyson was able to not only take her to the emergency vet for but then made sure she received her medications as prescribed. I was initially worried but I knew Alyson was taking such good care of her and she kept me up to date on how she was doing. Thank you Alyson for going above and beyond and keeping my cat safe and cared for.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blountville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
