Ready to give your dog the sunny vacation they deserve? Visit this local dog beach in Boca Raton to give them a taste of sand, surf and tons of fun!
There is a dog friendly beach at Spanish River Park (3001 N Ocean Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33431), but unfortunately only local dogs are allowed with a permit – so you’re out of luck if you’re just visiting. Locals can get a permit by proving residency and paying for an annual or single weekend pass. There is a limit of two dogs per person, and even with the permit you’re still only able to bring fido to the beach during certain times of the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (7 to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to sunset). On the bright side, once you make it there, the beach is beautiful and clean and filled with friendly and responsible pet owners – so we know you’re going to have a blast.
Looking for a spot with not quite so many rules? This one is a little further out there, but if you’re willing to make the trek, Jupiter Dog Beach (2188 Marcinski Rd, Jupiter FL 33458) is a gem that locals absolutely rave about. Located about 45 minutes away from Boca Raton, this beach is pure paradise for your furry friend. This lovely, laidback beach has all the amenities – plenty of free parking, convenient bathrooms, covered picnic areas, plus fresh water for your pup, shade and doggie bags at every entrance!
The beach itself is also phenomenal with clean, soft sand stretching for ages, leaving tons of space for four-legged friends to run and splash, leashless and free. Of course it can get a little crowded, and there aren’t any separate small and large dog areas – but for the most part owners are friendly, responsible and very considerate of other visitors. Best of all, there’s a shower where you can rinse your sandy dog off before you leave – making that ride home a little less messy.
If you’re looking to feel the sand between your toes and the sun on your face, this is the place for you! However, if your dog is less of a water-lover, you can hire a local dog walker who will be happy to show them around. Your dog will be excited you did!
