North Beach

Set your four-legged friend free to run and swim off-leash along the half-mile of beach north of 29th Street to the border of Solana Beach. Pups can make doggy friend in the sand or the surf off-leash from Labor Day to June 15th. From June 15th to Labor Day, your pup needs to be leashed.
When your pup gets tired of the water, climb the wooden stairs to explore Scripps Bluff Preserve with a spectacular 360 degree view of the coast and inland lagoons.
Looking for more beachcombing with your pup? The rest of the two-mile stretch of beach along Del Mar is also dog-accessible at various times in the year.
The Main Beach, from Powerhouse Park to 29th Street, allows dogs on leash from Labor Day to June 15th. South Beach, from Powerhouse Park to the border of Torrey Pines at 6th Street, allows on-leash dogs year-round.
