There are few places more beautiful than the Hawaiian islands. If you’re visiting Oahu (or lucky enough to live there!) and looking for the perfect hike for you and your pet, you’re in luck. On the right trails, you’ll find lush forests, waterfalls, hilltop views and one-of-a-kind rock formations, and your dog is more than welcome to come along.   • 1.7 moderate hike to the gorgeous Manoa Falls
  • elevation of 633 feet
  • come prepared for mud on the trail, mosquitoes, and sporadic rain
  • starting December 2019, the trail will be closed for repairs Monday through Thursday; check the website for updates
  • if the parking area is closed, park at Paradise Park or the neighborhood nearby

  • short 0.9 moderate hike near Waimanalo, Oahu
  • take the upper trail to the top side of the arch, or the lower trail to get underneath (don’t forget to take a picture!)
  • dogs are allowed but must be leashed
  • remember to bring plenty of water for you and your dog

  • 1.8 mile intermediate hike near Kailua, Oahu
  • amazing views of Lanikai Beach and the Pacific Ocean
  • optimal views around sunrise and late afternoon
  • dogs must be leashed
  • loose gravel can make steep ascents a little unstable, so watch your footing
  • official trailhead is unmarked, but is 40 uphill along Kaelepulu Drive

  • a moderate 4-mile hike through forest and tropical vegetation to expansive views of southeast Oahu
  • be careful on the trail, as there are no safety railings in many areas
  • rises 1,800 feet, then peaks on the spine of the Ko`olau Ridge
  • dogs are allowed on leashes 6 feet and under in length

  • out-and-back trail with an 1,420 foot elevation gain
  • hikes to the Falls and Pools for a refreshing swims

  • spectacular views of Oahu, Olomana, and the Koolaupoko watershed
  • no bathrooms at the trailhead, so take care of business beforehand!
