Pumpkin Cutout Cookies for Dogs

This simple recipe is perfect for cutting out seasonal shapes! You can customize the color of the dough using natural food coloring, or try natural ingredients like beet or chlorophyl powder for some beautiful tints.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oat flour (pulse rolled oats in the food processor to make your own)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour or any flour your dog digests well
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 cup plain pumpkin puree
  • Optional: natural food coloring

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350º.

Mix the ingredients in a large bowl until just combined.

  • Top tip: Want to do multiple colors? It’s easiest to add the food coloring before the dough is fully formed, so once your dough is starting to come together, divide into separate bowls and color before rolling out. The dough on its own has the lovely yellow tint pictured from the pumpkin puree.

Roll out each color and cut out shapes. We like to do a few big cookies for show and lots of smaller cookies for easy treating.

Place cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes or until just starting to brown on the bottom.
