Jacques is a plucky French bulldog from Seattle by way of Chicago who makes friends everywhere he goes. When Jacques was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease or IVDD, his owner, Tom, was devastated—and determined to do whatever it took to get Jacques back to living his biggest life.

IVDD is unfortunately common in short-legged dog breeds, affecting the shock-absorbing discs between the vertebrates of the spine. It hinders a dog’s ability to jump, play, and walk without pain—and can lead to paralysis.
Jacques is a fixture at the Rover.com headquarters in Seattle, where he loves to hang out by Tom’s side. We’re all rooting for his continued recovery.
